Well, we moved offices to a new place that already had a microwave and he had just moved into a new house and needed one so he took the office one. Anyway, now we have moved offices again and we need a microwave so we have told him to either give ours back or buy us a new one.

We'll be having pasta tomorrow as I'll be making spag bol. I have my meals planned for the rest of the week.

2 Chelsea buns for lunch from the Bakers is just about as bad as it gets. I blame the doctor who said nothing could be done about my very bad sore throat except wait a few weeks and put up with it. It's hard to be ill and avoid comfort foods when you need comforting.

sweetheart · 16/10/2006 16:56

Oh Xenia - go and punch your Dr - what an arse.

I get sore throats and my friend brought me a cholroseptic throat spray (I think thats what it's called) it tastes vile but it really works. I'd recommend!

sweetheart · 16/10/2006 16:58

something like this

dislexicicecream · 16/10/2006 18:02

honey is ment to be relly good for sore throte, but i think its the dark one from holland and barrot, might be caled money honey, sounds stupid though so think i made the name up hehe, if u ask them for the live honey they will point u in the right way.

1 box of roses (i wish)
no im going to have some rice and peas that i have frozen, cant be assed to cook any thing else

but some how i was a good girl

BIGlilBUBU · 16/10/2006 18:06

Ill join you loopity. I think we should record everything we eat each day on here. That would definatly help me keep motivated. What do you think?

BIGlilBUBU · 16/10/2006 18:08

Im not sure what to have for tea. I started the day off well but then had a bag of crisps. So I think ill just have salad for dinner.

BIGlilBUBU · 16/10/2006 18:17

I lost about 4 stone after having ds. That was a year ago and id like to lose abit more so im really thin. A few diet tips that I find help.
2 litres of water a day
Only brown carbs ie brown bread, brown pasta, brown rice
No cheese
No butter
Loads of fruit and veg
No eating after 7pm
No sugary drinks
No alcahol
I used those as my guidlines and I lost the weight I gained when pregnant really really fast. First week I lost 5 pounds, secons 3pounds then it slowed down abit to 2punds a week then it was 1 pound a week for ages. Now its more likely to be gain a pound....

loopity · 16/10/2006 19:05

Welcome BIGlilBUBU - great to have another person on board

OP posts:
MrsFish · 16/10/2006 20:50

For tea tonight I had tuna steak with roasted sweet potato and mixed veg :yummy:

Lunch was homemade vegetable soup and fruit salad.

Breakfast was wholemeal bread with low fat spread.

Good day today for once, just need to keep it up for 10 weeks now

For those at work, why not take a flask with some hot soup in, its filling and low in calories if you pick the right ones. Alternatively you could take a slim a soup and have with some crispbreads with something on?

sweetheart · 16/10/2006 21:06

Welcome BlB - have to say I'm sure your diet worked wonders but I would find it too restriciver which would mean I'd give up easily. Brown carbs would not go down well in this house - dh and dd would refuse to eat them (not sure I'd be too thrilled either). I don't think I could commit to no alcohol either - I don't drink that much but I do like to have a glass of wine at the weekend.

I think the food diary is a brilliant idea - thats exactly how I lost my baby weight with ww.

Today I ate

Bananna
3 cups if tea (milk, 1 sugar)
Salad with wafer thin chicken and salad cream
Home made chicken curry and rice with a couple of pompadoms
I may treat myself to a ww rice pudding if ds ever falls asleep!

i think on ww my day adds up to about 13.5 points without the rice pudding and 15 with it. I'm allowed 20 a day so I'm doing good today, esp when you add in my gym visit. Lets hope the rest of the week goes the same way!

sweetheart · 16/10/2006 21:07

I meant restrictive!

MrsFish · 16/10/2006 21:13

You need to be careful to eat the calories you need though, otherwise if you eat too little straight away, once you get closer to your target weight it will be harder to shift and you won;t have the calories drop at that point. Also if you are exercising you need to keep your strength up by eating a bit more on those days.

BIGlilBUBU · 16/10/2006 21:17

Yeh it is kind of restrictive I suppose but it works so well. I dont think im guna completely cut out cheese this time.
Im starting properly tomorrow but today I ate
For breakfast muisli
Lunch greek salad
crisps(I know very bad)
Dinner, because I had crisps I just had 2 rivitas with low fat philedelfia.
3litres of water and lots of fruit.
Not too bad but now I found this thread im going to be very good.

battybird · 16/10/2006 21:31

Hi, is it to late to join you? I lost 1.5 stones during preganancy and when ds was born a year ago i felt really good about myself, now however i have put it all back on plus plenty more and am feeling very miserable about it!! I lack motivation to actually do anything about it so joining you lot could just be the kick up the bum i need!

MrsFish · 16/10/2006 21:33

Not too late at all

battybird · 16/10/2006 21:38

Then consider me well and truly on board, feeling quite positive already, i think its just good to know i am not alone!!

loopity · 16/10/2006 21:46

Hiya battybird

Today's food intake

Breakfast - 2 slices of toast and cup of tea

Lunch - Very bad, I know, but at least I'd already 'fessed up earlier in the day!! - sausage roll and a bun (B'day party leftovers)

Dinner - Pasta bolognese no parmesan

Tonight - 1 glass of red wine

No snacking yeah!!!

well done to everyone who had a good day yesterday - lets follow it with another good day today!

Welcome to bb - you lost weight during pregnancy - god I'm jelous!!! I actually lost my baby weight really quickly (about 5 months) bu I was overweight to begin with so I still want to shift another stone.

I won't have any problems being good today or tomorrow but I'm really worried about the end of the week and half term! I was thinking of some things to do with the kids next week to keep mysef occupied - unfortunalty most of my ideas involve food! I thought about taking them swimming in the afternoon (when dh is home from work) and then out to a restaurant for dinner (my dd loves eating at restaurants - I think it makes her feel grown up!)

I also thought about taking her to the conema but I just know I couldn't resist popcorn! Perhaps if I made that my lucnh for that day do you think it would be OK?

Anyway, I also thought about taking them for a bike ride to our local park - No food AND some excercise to boot!

Lets have a think of what other things we can do over half term that will be fun for the kids and good for us too!

loopity · 17/10/2006 10:01

Morning all

Going to be good today as the big weigh-in is almost upon us - eek! And lots of housework to do which will take my mind off food for the morning.

What dates are your kids off for halfterm btw? Mine are off for a week from fri 27th oct

OP posts:
BIGlilBUBU · 17/10/2006 10:46

Morning everyone...
Sweetheart you could save points for meal out.
At Pizza Express you can ask them to put less cheese on your pizza that way its not as bad. Another way is to share the pizza so you could have 2 slices with a side salad or something. That way if you saved points and only had 2slices you'd still lose weight that day. Or if you go at 4 or 5 you could make the meal out your lunch and dinner, then you can order whatever you want.
My ds isnt at schoold yet so half terms just like another week for me. But ill try and help you all think of things to do with your kids....

BIGlilBUBU · 17/10/2006 10:48

Loopity whens the big weigh in? I havnt had a chance to read all the posts so must have missed that bit.
Is it once a week?

MrsFish · 17/10/2006 10:50

On Thursday IIRC

Good Luck everyone.

I have also taken all my measurements, it is good to see where the changes are happening.

BIGlilBUBU · 17/10/2006 10:51

Just found the weigh in bit. Thursday ok.

sweetheart · 17/10/2006 11:02

BlB - those are some fantastic ideas thanks! I will eat breakfast late - around 10 - 10.30 ish. Go swimming around lunch time and be out about 4pm so we can go for a late lunch / early dinner - brilliant idea, you star!

My dd has an inset day on Friday (20th) and then she is on half term from 23rd - 28th.
