mummydoc · 12/10/2006 17:40

thursday would be good day for me, i will also hide scales at home as they can so easily effect my day if i weigh every day. i promise not to pick at childrens food at tea time and will not start on crisps while cooking but may allow a smallish glasss of wine ( medicinal purposes only of course.) will happily post my weight next thursday.

Hello everyone - how's it going
Haven't had breakfast yet so just about to make some scrambled eggs and toast in effort to fill me up until lunchtime - I WILL NOT snack today (she hopes!!). Bowl of soup I reckon for lunch with bread roll.

Now tonight will be difficult but I am determined - will just have to cut out the tortilla chips and wine that normally succumb to on weekend nights.

I'm going to go swimming today too. Over all feeling positive about this weight loss - it's great to have a focused goal and everybody's support. However i do have dd's 7th birthday tomorrow so will be surrounded by party food and cake - helpppppp!!!!

I made a chocolate cake for the kids last night.

Its sitting there in its tupperware tub. Have had sliver of a slice but feel the need for detatchment training regarding food for children. I must learn to look upon cake etc as being their food and their end of the week treat and just not something I would even think of touching. I can do that at the sweet counter in the local shop and I'm great at not buying crap in the supermarket.

But even a cake made lovingly at home out of organic ingredients, from a recipe by Nigella who stands next to said cake in photo in book, looking all sexy and glam, will make my jeans too tight.

Think "jeans that fit" over and over to myself.

dislexicicecream · 13/10/2006 10:26

morning all,
i know what u mean about weekends, when the kids r home it is so hard not to make excuses to eat, maybe we shuld all stock up our frute bowles on fridays, ok i know its not the same but might help,
i hurd a phycolegest say once that a craving will only be strong for 7 minits, so maybe if we do something to stop our selfs for 10 minits by like washing up or watering plants, when we get cravings we can avoid some of them ?
im trying that today as i am having major PMT cravings for chocolate and fizzy drinks! bought my self some coke zero this morning but im going to try to leave it alone coz i know the cravings will be worse tonight!
emmylou put the cake in the cupord and write a note and stick it to it saying something like jeans to tight or this belongs to the kids, might help?

mummydoc · 13/10/2006 14:45

hello , i had slimfast for breakfast and even got thru coffe break without touching bikkie tin but lunchtime meeting scoffed white baguette with cheese and colesalaw and orage juice, but didn't eat chocolate twix biscuits ...i was sooo hungary and it was provided ...now musn't let it ruin rest of day. and emmylou just because cake is made with organic ingrediants it doesn't make it healthy ! (stern look) i have fallen for that idea loads of times...particularly with oatmeal and chocolate cookies ( well htey did contian oatmeal they must be allright)

EmmyLou · 13/10/2006 16:07

Thank you ladies. Have put post-it note on cake saying "Your jeans WILL fit if you leave this alone."

dislexicicecream · 14/10/2006 13:51

hiya all
well done loopity, it was my little girls b day end of last mounth and i think i compleetly over did it on eating everything and for a few days after i was eating all the left overs,
i think i beeter lose some wight now or i will be 2xs the size after xmass, i just cant be trusted at b days and x mass, im ok on my food most of the rest of the time though, funny that hehe.
its been hard this weekend, cos time of the mounth but i have maneged to get through just by drinking my coke zero insted of eating my weight in chocolate wicth is wat i wanted to do lol.
will defenitly be interesting when i get on the scales, i have been tempted but so far have left them alone, its hard though .....

sweetheart · 15/10/2006 17:42

I have had an utterly crap weekend - I won't list everything I have eaten as I am so ashamed that I failed so spectacularly!

Anyway, I've just ironed my gym stuff for tomorrow and put a salad in the fridge for lunch time. I'll try and do better this week! At least I haven't put any weight on!

loopity · 16/10/2006 09:13

Morning everyone
Went out for a family meal last night and despite planning to be ultra-sensible (yawn!) my good intentions went out the window as soon as menu arrived and the wine was poured- oops Were you out as well sweetheart?!

Back to healthy eating today and a gym trip for me too I think. It just doesn't help that I love food so much...

How's everyone else getting on?

Hello everyone

Could I join in please, would like to lose more than 10pound, but it will do for starters to get me motivated.

I have had a good week and yesterday we went on a 9 mile walk (not intended) and I am now knackered. Got on the scales this morning and it shows I have lost one pound this week, which is a start.

sweetheart · 16/10/2006 09:20

Yes I was out loopity and I'm ashamed to say that Friday lunchtime i thought - Oh well I'm going out tonight I may as well eat whatever i want! It also continued into Sat and Sun! Still, today is another day and I have a bananna on my desk - a salad in the kitchen and my gym kit in the car! Mon - Wed I'm normally really good as I'm at work - it's Thur - Sun I find hard when I'm at home.

dislexicicecream · 16/10/2006 09:58

9 mile walk! o m g ...
i was sooo good all week end but gggggrrrrrrrr
i walked my friends kid to school all week last week cos she had a baby, this morning to say thanks they gave me a box of roses i need more than a post it note to save me!
do u think its better to eat the whole box quickly? so they r gone and out of the way ? or to just have a cople a day and that way untill they r gone?

MrsFish · 16/10/2006 10:01

Can't you give them to someone else?

If I have anything lik,e that in the cupboard, I eat them all in one go.

Just remember they are 50 calories each. for 3 chocs that disappear in seconds you could have a big bowl of fruit salad, or porridge that would fill you up and take longer to eat.

sweetheart · 16/10/2006 10:02

the good part of me says think of someone else to give them to but the bad part of me says eat them!!!!! I suppose it depends what sort of mood your in.

Welcome Mrs Fish - wow what a walk!

I'm going to pinch my sisters bike this week (It has our baby seat on the back) so that this weekend me and dh can take dd and ds for a bike ride. Perhpas if I'm out the house I'll stop eating! Although I have agreed to have my family over for Sunday roast this week - oh pooh, I'm never gonna meet this 10Ib target!

dislexicicecream · 16/10/2006 10:03

to late! i just opend em hehehehe
mmmmmmmmmmmm
ok, i think cos she just had baby and nows i am on diet and also just had baby maybe she is trying to make sure she loses her weight first? lol bad to say that i know , but she knows wat i am like on chocolate hehe

dislexicicecream · 16/10/2006 10:07

MrsFish · 16/10/2006 10:08
