morning ladies! how are you all?

This morning I have had a medium sized bowl of cornflakes with skimmed milk and a glass of orange juice (at 6am!). Not got the rumble tums yet so am just plodding round tidying up now. Bought some sugar free gum this morning for when I get the snacking urge! going to have a jacket potato at lunchtime with some tuna and sweetcorn and fat free 1000 island dressing. For tea I'm supposed to be having steamed fish with lemon, garlic and herbs and steamed vegetables. ho hum.

sweetheart · 18/10/2006 09:30

I got on the scales this morning - just couldn't resisit! I really need to stop doing it. Well I had my ww rice pudding last night and also a glss of wine - work has been so manic I needed to just chill out!

I did do 100 sit up's before bed though so I think that justifys a small glass of wine.

Welcome lips - I find the caramel snack a jacks are a great little snack when I want something sweet. I also eat the ww puddings after my dinner in the evening to stave off the craving to eat something nice.

Next dilemer of the week - I have 3 social events this weekend, all involve food and probably lots of alcohol! So, do I just go with the flow or try and be good somewhere?!?!?!

Event 1 is a cancer fundraising disco with some friends - lots of booze and a baguetter (which I could avoid eating!)
Event 2 is a neighbours house party - they are cooking chilli, curry and I think another dish and again there will be lots of booze
Event 3 is my wholse family coming round for Sunday lunch - will involve roast potatoes, a pudding and probably a few glasses of wine.

Any ideas?

sweetheart · 18/10/2006 09:30

Oh also - jelly is a great sweet snack - Or Ambrosia do little pots of low fat custard which is soooo yummy!

loopity · 18/10/2006 09:45

Morning everyone

Just about to have bowl of oatso porridge, cup of tea and glass of oj, bit late getting breakfast today

Will have to have a light lunch, not sure what yet any ideas. Then taking kids out for afternoon and probably to Pizza Express for tea (what's the best pizza to order, will prob split with my mum and get side salad - no dough balls!!)

Sweetheart, could you have white wine and soda spritzers and then you halve the cals automatically. Plus if you're going to be dancing loads then you'll be burning off some too. Food sounds reasonably healthy, for me it would prob just be matter of portion control and making sure I don't have seconds!

I agree the chilli shouldnt be too bad really. Just dont have too much. Have some porridge or something in the morning as that fills you up for ages.
Before the disco maybe go to the gym drink the wine but dont eat the food.
For the sunday lunch just have some breakfast and have the sunday lunch but dont have anything else that day. Who's cooking the sunday dinner?
I have a terrible habit of weighing myself everyday. Its stupid because your weight changes day to day doesn't it. I get abit obsessive with it.
Im having my friend over for dinner and im cooking us tuna fish casserol, which is just a tuna pasta bake really. Its got cream of celery soup in it so its not low fat. Any ideas on what I should have for lunch? I suppose salads the best option.

dislexicicecream · 18/10/2006 12:25

thanks for the idea for the egypt thing last night loopty, not sure i can re create the whole thing but got some good ideas from the pic, will have to start on it tonight though cos last night i was just to tired after all that the night b4 , battybird do u think its a bit cold for us to be sending them to school in sheets? thats one of my main probs with this, if was summer it wood be sooo much easyer....
anywasy
having an ok day today so far,
will be interesting seeing how we have all done on our first week tomoro, something must be working cos i have started getting an energy boost, i seem to rember this happening on times when i was doing slimming world at the begining,
sweetheart u have such a bisy sochal life, where can i get one hehe
i was reading on yahoo yesterday a story about weighing your self every day, they said the people who did weigh every day maneged to keep the weight off easyer than the ones who didnt weigh at all after loseing weight, cos they saw every time they gained a bit and did something about it quicker,

funnyish story for u all, cople of weeks ago i weighed my self and it looked like i had lost about 2 stone, turnd out one of ds1's lego men was under them hehehehe

loopity · 18/10/2006 13:15

DIC, I reckon you could send them out in sheets for sure if you stick a jumper underneath. Thought that pic was hilarious - certainly make's my efforts look a bit s*te. I always leave mine to the last minute and send kids out in an assortment of teatowels, pillowcases and curtain tie-backs. Prob why they never win any of the prizes

well had a bought sandwich (not lowfat unfortunately) for lunch because I had to drag myself out to the shops with toddler in tow

one thing i do have is black eye liner, i could do that egyption style, but well wood be so much easyer if he was a she lol,

dislexicicecream · 18/10/2006 13:38

sweetheart · 18/10/2006 16:23

Thanks for everyones advice. I'm feeling a bit I was supposed to be going to the gym today, planned to leave work early - but I'm still here, and won't be getting away any time soon! I've got too much work to do.

BIGlilBUBU · 18/10/2006 16:26

Hi everyone, how has everyone done today so far?
Ive done ok. Ill leave the food diary till later when ive eaten dinner.

loopity · 18/10/2006 19:06

Back from day out with kids - belated birthday trip for dd (plus 2 ds) along with my mum and 4yo niece to one of those hands-on science-y type places.

Stressed out making sure I didn't lose one of them, my mother included as she kept wandering off - prob because she didn't want to be seen with us as toddler insisted on emptying all of the water displays...had to bring him home in his vest, soaked.

Couldn't get to pizza express and ended up at an american-style diner so had a hamburger, salad and diet coke. No fries. Feel ugh now - am going to have some fruit in a mo to balance it out. Will also have to try to resist glass of wine which is highly tempting following this afternoon.

All set for tomorrow girls?

Good evening everyone... well I am knackered

Cleaned the Aga first thing, got myself and ds dressed for 9.15am. Friend came over at 9.50am and we took kids to Alton Towers Splash Landing Hotel, they have a fabulous indoor lagoon type swimming pool thing www.towersdiscovered.co.uk/Cariba%20Creek.htm If anyone is in the Derbyshire/Staffordshire area it is well worth a visit

Got home at 2pm, had lunch with friend, she went at 3.30pm. Cleaned microwave (was filthy) then took ds for a 3 mile walk, took me an hour.

Ds in bed at 7pm, dinner cooked and eaten, am now sitting and relaxing... phew!

Breakfast - bowl of Rice Krispies, skimmed milk, half slice w/m toast.

Lunch @ 2.15pm - 2 slices white granary bread, carrot and corriander soup.

Snack 5.30pm - thick crust off bottom of loaf, with jam and philadelphia light, yum yum - I feel I deserved it after all the activity today

Dinner 7.30pm - Breaded cod fillet with broccoli, carrots a few oven chips and ketchup.

So another successful day, roll on weigh in tomorrow

battybird · 18/10/2006 21:14

Goodevening! Had a terrible day today which is bad enough but made worse by the fact this is only day 2 for me! Ok, this is what i had,

Breakfast- Tea and cornflakes
Lunch- Coffee
Snacks- Water!
Dinner-
This is where it all went wrong and i blame dp entirely, as he went to the pub to watch the football i felt i didnt need to lovingly prepare a gourmet meal. So when dd asked "could we just get pizza" i thought "no we can't" but heard myself saying "pass the phone"!
So 2 slices of hawian, 3 chicken goujons and a piece of garlic bread was the outcome of it all.
I WILL DO BETTER TOMORROW
Also yes it is to cold to be sending our children to school in barely more than their underwear, why do the schools never have these great ideas in july?!

lipsbite · 18/10/2006 23:04

Yes i do eat raisins so best to get more as also noticed a range of healthy nibbles - eg nuts at Tescos

Today ive had

breakfast - shreddies and banana with semi skimmed milk @ 8am
2 white toasts (usually have brown but got none) with flora marg and "Good for you" jam @ 11.15am
lunch - spicy soup! and quavers
tea - quiche - egg and bacon flavour - not home made and nicked some of my DD's healthy biscuits.
late night supper - left over homemade tea from last nite -chicken fry up @8.30pm and now im having 2 pieces of toasts again

had 5 cuppas too - milk and no sugars

dislexicicecream · 18/10/2006 23:11

Off to bed in a min, but just wanted to say
GOOD LUCK TO EVERY ONE ON WEIGH IN TOMORO

Judy1234 · 18/10/2006 23:24

2 slices bacon, tiny bit of heated up brown rice. Breakfast.
Lots of herbal tea all day (dn't drink the normal sort or coffee, never liked them)

Lunch: boiled new potatoes, cauliflower, gammon.

Snack : apple

Dinner: brown rice, tuna fish (whole can) and carrots.
3 bananas

Whether I sneak any food upstairs as I go to bed now is another matter.

MrsFish · 19/10/2006 08:29

Battybird, going by that list you have still had a good day, you won;t have eaten your daily calorie allowance with that, so stop beating yourself up about it and eat extra healthily today

MrsFish · 19/10/2006 08:32

Right, to kick off the weigh in sessions :D

]grin]I have lost 3 pounds ]grin]

Yipeee, that's the biggest weight loss in one week that I can ever remember having, other than giving birth to ds ;)

I bet this week will be more difficult though, need to keep the motivation going

MrsFish · 19/10/2006 08:38

I can't seem to get it to go bold
