Aaaarrrgggghhh! why is it they wake up so early when you have gone to bed late?

Ds usually sleeps still 7.30ish, this morning he woke at 6am and screamed blue murder till I got him up. I didn't go to bed till 1am, I now have a headache and am knackered. Not going to be looking my best this afternoon for the photos we are having done

loopity · 25/11/2006 10:02

Morning everyone
It's a nightmare when they need to start their day so early - ds2 up from 6.45am so not far behind your ds mrs fish! All the best for the photo session.

Feeling positive today. Boiled egg and wholewheat toast for breakfast and a fruit smoothie.

Today we will be christmas shopping if my dm is free to babysit or I will take all 3 lo's to the pool (getting them dressed etc would probably count as a workout itself )

What's everyone else up too?

Hi everyone,
Forgot to answer your post loopity. Yes my mums swedish so all her side of the family live over there. I love scandinavia too.
I went up to dps grandparents house today and met dps cousin and family that I hadn't met before as they live up north. Their son is 2 weeks younger than ds. They played really nicely. Ds kept hugging him.
I haven't been very good today. Tomorrow I will start afresh...again!
How has everyone else been today?

Marls001 · 25/11/2006 23:59

MrsFish 7.5 off ... that's wonderful! How much do you still need to lose?

Lornaloo - It's a full program, not just the pills. Have 3 friends who've lost 20+ pounds each from it! They look great. Was hoping it'd help me lose my baby weight. I'm not doing the full program; it was expensive. Just bought some of their pills, & trying to follow other aspects of the program on my own.

Wouldn't say pills are good for me, necessarily, but not bad either. ... and I'm very health-conscious (except when it comes to sugar ) ...
If it's another con ... LOL; it may be. The pills, I mean - not the program. I've seen ample evidence the whole program works. They promise 2+ pounds/week loss, and I've seen them make good on it.

Have steadily been taking off 1 pound/week thus far, and I know how to lose weight - it's just a matter of following through. Will probably plateau at some point & need loads of encouragement!!! But it's not whether 10 lbs come off. It's when. So wasn't worth over 100 GBP to lose it faster. I have a closet FULL of clothes I can't wear. Am comfortably in fattest fat jeans, but everything else is tight. HATE any organization telling me how to eat every day ... and I don't cook ... so would've been hard for me to follow their program.
(I agree with you about white vs. wheat bread - definitely. I like to keep my "cheating" calories to things there are no good substitutes for ... like choc. chip pecan cookies ... )

Strangely enough, my biggest weight loss advantage right now is that - due to postpartum - am currently on an antidepressant called Wellbutrin (also known as Zyban). One of its side effects is loss of appetite.

Texasrose - Are you from Texas?
Wow - 12 pounds - I wish!!

lornaloo · 26/11/2006 09:55

Ok I see. I just thought it was a new contraceptive pill or something. Then when I had a brief look at that link I got quite confused.
Probably only worth £100 if you were morbidly obese and find it incredibly difficult to diet I suppose.
I'm aiming to be good food wise today although I am out for lunch with my mum and brother. I might have a banana for brekki and just have the meal out and skip dinner. Might save on some cals that way.
What is everyone else up to today?

MrsFish · 26/11/2006 11:38

Marls001 - I would like to lose another stone ideally, but we are trying for another baby so I will have to wait and see what happens

Well all good intentions went out the window yesterday...

Brekkie - big bowl of rice krispies and skimmed milk
Snack/lunch - lower fat berry muffin from costa coffee, 1 crumpet and gold
Dinner - Homemade lasagne, salad, few chips, 2 slices garlic bread

2 glasses cava, 2 rose, 1 vodka and diet coke.

I reckon approx 1800 cals in total 2000 max
1 crumpet and gold

MrsFish · 26/11/2006 11:39

ignore the last crumpet addition at the bottom of that last post

loopity · 26/11/2006 12:05

Hi everyone

Food wise very pleasant this weekend= not so good!! lornaloo · 26/11/2006 22:51

Today

Lunch at carvery. Turkey beef roast pots peas stuffing and cranbury sauce. For pud I had brownies and ice cream.
That was at 3pm. I haven't eaten since so I'm hoping it wont be too bad.
Back on track tomorrow.

MrsFish · 27/11/2006 09:55

I wouldn't worry with that lornaloo, you could still have had some tea, the main cals were your brownies

It seems like alot of us have stopped checking in for one reason or another, hope everything is okay...

loopity · 27/11/2006 10:02

Good morning
Will have to be good from now until Friday, after the pizza and wine at the weekend [eek!].

Not sure what to cook for tea tonight - have taken some minced beef out of freezer but getting fed up with my usual dishes of shepherd's pie and bolognese - anyone any other ideas?

boomie · 27/11/2006 10:24

Hi everyone. Well I'm not doing too bad and the christmas parties I have to go to is keeping me motivated. DH and I took the DDs out for the day yesterday and whilst they were all tooking into pie, chips and peas (droool), I sat there with a bottle of water cos there was nothing healthy. I actually surprised myself and feel quite saintly this morning - long may it last!!

boomie · 27/11/2006 10:25

tucking not tooking - LOL can't you tell I'm teaching DD1 phonics at the mo!!

lornaloo · 27/11/2006 10:26

If I hadn't had the brownie ice cream I would have been doing ok, but I couldn't resist.
I've had fruit today for breakfast. Trying to be extra good so I get a loss on those scales on friday.
I'm going to visit my friend whos just had a baby boy. I can't wait to see him. I've had a bag full of little pressies for her ready for ages in anticipation of his arrival. He was almost 2 weeks overdue and came just in time so that she didn't have to be induced.
I'm going christmas shopping after, which means lunch out... I think I'll get some sushi from tesco or something small like that and then soup for dinner.

lornaloo · 27/11/2006 10:51

Well done Boomie.

texasrose · 27/11/2006 16:53

Hi all, I'm trying to get my eating back on track after a nasty cold / crohn's flare-up. Tbh I haven't eaten much at all over the last few days but I don't lke the way that having Crohn's means that I can't eat certain foods like porridge or veggies - I have to stick to v. boring, v. bland, v. processed foods like white rice and boiled eggs (not that eggs are processed as such! )

I've lost another pound though I would ideally like to lose another half a stone but in all honesty I've done better than I thought i would when I started this diet.

Lornaloo I love sushi! It's one of my absolute faves. And I love newborn babies too! (not to eat obviously! )

Marls, no, I'm not from Texas. I'm half-Welsh, half Kiwi living in England with a Scottish dh! So where does Texas come in, I hear you cry. Well it's a long story and I'd need to sit down with you in person, buy you a drink and settle you into a comfy seat before I began...!

mummydoc · 27/11/2006 17:11

hello everyone, have been good but yesterday bit of a downfall roast lucnh - ok but raost spuds, wine, gravey made with meat juices and port, then cho sponge and custard adn icecream, followed by cheese sandwhichs for supper ,....but back to slimfast today and fish and veg for tea...

lornaloo · 27/11/2006 18:52

Evening everyone.
I love newborns too. Aaah he was so sweet. He looked so peacefull. His skin was so soft too.
I've done really well today food wise. I am well and truly back on track ready for a good weight loss this fri.
Breakfast a banana and 2 satsumas.
Lunch a pack of sushi from tesco. 157 cals i think and about 3 grams of fat.
Dinner chick peas casserol with a rivita with low fat flora on.
Snacks another satsuma, another banana and a pear.
I'm going to count up the caleries and see how many i had today.

lornaloo · 27/11/2006 18:57

I reckon I've had about 1114 cals and 9.5 grams of fat.

MrsFish · 27/11/2006 20:08

Finding it difficult to get back on track after the weeekend. Not really had a proper meal, just been snacking on bread

Brekkie - 2 of the small slices of bread (65 cals per slice) with gold, 1 crumpet and gold.
Lunch - 2 w/m bread rolls with ham and mayo, half of ds's lasagne that he didn't eat.
snacks - fairy cake at MiL's, 3 choc truffles (63 cals each)
Tea - 2 crumpets and gold, pickled egg.

Oh well, gym tomorrow and thursday, hopefully can undo some of the damage and get away with a stay the same on friday. Got another party on saturday... free booze must try not to go mad but going by the past few weeks that isn't gonna happen

loopity · 27/11/2006 20:52

Hi everyone
I've managed to be good all day

Breakfast - slice of soda bread, spread and jam
Lunch - out christmas shopping - chicken curry and boiled rice in cafe (smallish portion)
Dinner - pasta bolognese (small portion and I didn't have seconds )

Might have a glass of wine now that kids settled to bed - they've been hard work today. Have only really sat down just now for first time today.

Anyone know how many cals I had today - I'm not very good at working it out.

Texasrose - sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well and had another crohn's flare-up .

I'm feeling more focused today - 4 weeks until Christmas, so if I don't knuckle down now then the 10lbs will definitely not be off.
Good luck everyone - love reading your posts everyday

OP posts:
lornaloo · 27/11/2006 21:03

Well done loopity. I don't know how many cals you had but I'm sure you are under 1300.
I have to add 3 apples to my food diary. I forgot I had one while cooking and just had 2 now.
I'm definitly focused on my diet now. I don't know whether its coming off the pill or not but I feel like I'm in the right frame of mind now. Before I just wasn't finding it very easy at all.
I love reading the posts too It definitly helps.

MrsFish · 28/11/2006 08:25

Not seeing the size of portions, one womans small is anothers medium/large etc ;)

I would guess before the wine, at the most you will have had is 1200

loopity · 28/11/2006 09:41

Hi - Thanks lornaloo and Mrs fish. How many calories are in half a bottle of wine - rioja? Got a bit carried away!
The portion of pasta bolognese was quite small - the same size that was served up to my 5 year old

So far today had a slice of soda bread and cup of tea. Going in to help at the primary school this morning as I'm helping with the craft stall at the Christmas fair, so will probably just have a sandwich for lunch. Going to make a roast chicken dinner tonight with loads of veggies and maybe just a spoonful of stuffing!
