Thanks Loopity. I never thought I would lose so much weight but it's quite depressing that it goes back on very very easily. I'm just one of those people who will always have to watch what I eat otherwise it wil just creep back on and I'll be back where I started (although I determined I won't!!).

BTW I lost it by following Jason Vale's plan (The Juicemaster) which involves having at least one freshly made juice a day and eating plenty of fish and veggies for tea. Low on carbs as well.

MrsFish · 23/11/2006 09:34

Loopity - Yes I am at home all day, I actually snacked more when at work as I was so bored. Used to go to sainsbury's at lunch time and buy all sorts of goodies to see me through the afternoon at least at home I can always find something to do.

Welcome to all the newcomers, good luck. Well going by the scales this morning (yes I had a little pre weigh in weigh in) looks like I have stayed the same, lets see what happens today, I have been on the go since 7am this morning, then when I have dropped ds off at nursery I am going to spend the afternoon at the gym. Maybe hour and a half gym, half hour swim, then relax with a cofee and It takes me about 40 mins to get to the nursery from the gym so will have to leave no later than 5pm. By the time I get there it will be 2pm go it gives me three hours.

Blimey, didn't mean to type that much

Hi, I'm only just havin breakfast now! I'm niot working today and dd slept till 9 I'm having coffee and some toast.

boomie- I really don't know if I can lose 10lbs by 16th dec!
but tbh 8lbs would be good enough, as long as I'm under the 9st mark.

MrsFish · 23/11/2006 11:13

I doubt you could lose that much before christmas without starving yourself. Especially seeing as you don't have that much to lose anyway. Its only 4 weeks till Xmas

I'm just looking at it this way, even if I am not losing at least I am staying the same especially with all the nights out I have had the past month and for the next two weeks.

Just hope I don;t totally blow it over christmas and put on the 6 pound I have already lost

lornaloo · 23/11/2006 15:05

Hi everyone,
I weighed myself this morning and have stayed the same. It's so anoying.
I want to get under the 9stone mark too but I really can't see it happening before christmas. I suppose if I'm really really strict its possible.
I'm at home too loopity. I get bored and eat. I do all my cleaning and washing in the morning and take ds to the park early afternoon but after that I get so bored and just find myself wanting to pick.
I also think I've found it alot harder to diet with this pill, I don't have as much willpower. I'm thinking of coming off it.

lornaloo · 23/11/2006 15:07

Omg 4 weeks untill christmas. Is that all!!
Oh I really need a kick up the backside!

Marls001 · 23/11/2006 15:31

Lornaloo - what pill are you on? I started taking the Metabolic Research Center's system about a month ago ... don't really know if it's working, though ... the pill that I think is working - at least a little - is an antidepressant, went on after DS' birth - called Wellbutrin. Definitely curbs the appetite as well.

sweetheart · 23/11/2006 15:36

HI all,

Yesterdays food:-

About 5 cups of tea
caramel snack a jacks
KFC buffalo wrap meal

I didn't get a chance to eat anything else all day so although the KFC was bad hopefully it will be ok as it was the only thing I ate.

Thur and Fri's are so much harder for me as I'm at home. I always have the temptation to snack.

I weighed this morning and if I'm good tomday I may get away with staying the same or perhaps 1Ib on which considering the hen weekend isn't bad going!

We are out for a meal on Sunday so I'll have to be extra good the rest of the week.

4 wks till xmas and only 2 till my ds 1st birthday - I can't believe it! Happy to say I have shed all my baby weight and more - I still really want to get down to 9.5 stone though!

boomie · 23/11/2006 15:58

Hi

I'm at home and find it easier than when I worked for some strange reason!! At work, somebody was always bringing food such as cake, biscuits, crisps etc and I would always be stuffing my face. At home, I'm away from temptation as I don't buy the DDs too many biccies etc.

lornaloo · 23/11/2006 16:48

Marls I'm on yasmin. I think its definitly made my apetite bigger. Whats this metabolic reasearch system? Tell me more. Sounds good.

Marls001 · 23/11/2006 17:20

What is yasmin for?
Metabolic Research Center ... one of their pills is basically 168 mcg iodine + 20 mg vitamin B-6, to be taken before each meal. Iodine is designed to speed up metabolic function through the thyroid, but only if thyroid is not functioning correctly (otherwise, will do nothing) ... the other pills are separated into Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Bedtime, and contain caffeine (Breakfast and Lunch only), and other herbs.
MRC also wants their clients to have between 1200-1500 calories per day, AND fit in 3L water, and 40 g whey protein, every day ... Can't always get that much protein in myself. Only way I can tolerate taste of whey protein powder is to put it in a blender with some milk, & thawed frozen strawberries and raspberries.

Well I spent a lovely afternoon at the gym, feel quite pumped up actually I tried posting at the computer in the gym whilst I was having coffee, but it wouldn't let me onto mumsnet, said the material wasn't appropriate and it had been blocked

Anyway, I did 1 hr 15 on the stepper/bike/treadmill/cross trainer, then a quick dip in the pool, only did two lengths but I am not a very good swimmer. Then spent about 15 mins in the spa bath which was lovely. I think I could get used to this every tue/thurs afternoons. Along with stuff at home, hopefully it will help me lose weight quicker

loopity · 23/11/2006 18:51

Sounds like a lovely afternoon mrs fish

I've not been too bad today so far but I think we may be getting chinese takeaway later but I will be prudent with my ordering, promise! Something with veg and boiled rice.

So far today
Breakfast - half a slice of wholewheat toast and spread
Lunch - bagel with philly light and smoked salmon (again!)
Dinner - will be takeaway tonight
Snacks - 3 gingernut biscuits with my afternoon tea

I had a sneaky pre-weigh too and think I might have stayed the same too - find out tomorrow s'pose

Mrs Fish - I'm very of your trip to the gym. My gym has a sauna (part of the reason I joined) but I never get to use it as I have to fit my work out's into my lunch hour which means I have to rush to squeeze it all into 45 mins!

I had the day off on Monday so I treated myself to a leisurely 2 hour work out but I still had to rush back to pick ds up from my mums house!

costababe · 23/11/2006 19:32

mrs fish, what a lovey afternoon, am so envious of you all going to the gym, I not allowed back until the new year, have had really bad back problems and my osteo says to stay away until I am 100% fit again
Food today good no brekkie, 2 weetabix with s s milk for lunch and 1 pork loin chip cooked in toms, sweetcorn and herbs and 1 roast pot.Still glugging the tea and coffee, not geting on with the sweetners but down to 1 sugar now!!
Am hopefully for a small loss tomorrow, fingers crossed.

costababe · 23/11/2006 19:35

kellieowen · 23/11/2006 19:52

MrsFish · 23/11/2006 19:54

Today

Brekkie - 2 crumpets and gold
Lunch - ham and cucumber sarnie, toasted teacake.
Tea - Pile of veg with braising steak in yummy gravy.

Snack - 1 pink wafer, half an alpen bar

steps at time of typing this 12,981 - 6.14miles - 702 cals burned.

Seeing as I have had 1000 cals today, not doing too bad

MrsFish · 23/11/2006 19:57

kellieowen - I adore bread too, could live on toast quite easily. I struggled with willpower till I started on this thread but it has been great and has really helped me. Also saw some highly unflattering pictures of myself which has given me the boost to do something about it.

Also am trying to get pregnant again after a missed miscarriage at the start of october, I didn't want to get pregnant again at the weight I was, so this is also motivation for me.

You have to want it bad enough to do it though, otherwise it is so easy to slip up.

kellieowen · 23/11/2006 20:05

i know i have to want it an i do but its so hard i cant stand veg it makes me sick an salad wont go down either. since havin my ds i av put on 4 stone and i cant seem to shift it its a nightmare i hate myself now but ive only got my self to blame i suppose

MrsFish · 23/11/2006 20:07

Can you not even eat them if they are chopped up within something else? i.e ratatouille, veg in tomato sauce, or a chicken casserole with the veg chopped small or a veggie chilli, as regards salad how about a tuna pasta salad with stuff chopped up small in it, I can give you a recipe

MrsFish · 23/11/2006 20:09

Do you eat fruit? Just eat that instead of bread. Make a big bowlful of fruit salad at the start of the week and pick at that instead of bread.

How about a vegetable soup, cook it all till its mush and then blend it till there are no lumps

kellieowen · 23/11/2006 20:13

no! i dont mind coliflower av to really be in the mood for that though all other veg is a no no i can put it in my mouth i do try them but tey make me retch i would love to eat loads o it an salad but it doent agree with me!

there are loads of diets for veg lovers etc but there are none for picky eaters like me!!!

kellieowen · 23/11/2006 20:28

the only fruit i like is apples i have a really dry pallet i cant stand anything sloppy like mushed up veg im really bad the drier the better for me thats my fault ! i did join weight watchers after my ds was born i lost a stone then i think it was gettin weighed infront of peeps that made me di it i just lived off tomato soup an weight watchers curry an i lostt 4lb a week but its just too expensive to keep it up i cant do it on my own im too week.

my partners skinny as a twig which doent help he can eat anything an he doesnt put on weight it sickens me

loopity · 23/11/2006 21:13

Hi kellie
Could you make your own tomato soup or curry? I have a recipe for curry that is very low fat if you want it. Even something simple like a scrambled or boiled egg on toast is a healthy choice. I'm sure if we got our thinking caps on we could come up with some other easy low-fat meal ideas. Won't be as expensive for you then if not buying ready meals and paying out a fortune to go to ww meetings.

Join in with us and give it a try even for a week or two, see how you get on
