I've lost 1.5pound I'm so chuffed, that makes 7.5 pound since we started

This has spurred me on to be good this weekend

We have friends coming to stay on saturday, but instead of getting in a takeaway I thought I would make a lasagne and have it with salad ad garlic bread. I can give the bread a miss and have more salad, only a glass or two of wine and that should do me

Going to cinema tonight to see James Bond and eating somewhere beforehand so need to choose well then too.

MrsFish · 24/11/2006 08:54

Right, done my measurements, not a huge difference overall, best bit is my stomach which has the biggest loss.

Round belly button (which is my fattest part) I lost 3"
Waist - 1.5"
Chest and under bust - no change
Hips - 0.5"
Round widest part of bum and thighs - 1.5"
Thigh - 1"
Knee - 0.5"
Ankle - 0.25"
Top of arm - 0.5"

So at least the majority of body bits are changing. Will measure again after the next 7 pound.

Well done Mrs Fish

I have stayed the same again at 5lbs lost so far. The snacking is still an issue for me.

I am going to be really good this week - meal plan, write everything down and get back to regular running and swimming.

Btw, as this thread is getting very long - do you think I should start a nice new one for us all???

Wait till December the first which just happens to be a friday and we can start a new week/weigh in with a new topic

boomie · 24/11/2006 09:16

Well done Mrs Fish - you must be well pleased

MrsFish · 24/11/2006 09:46

Yeah I am, it makes it all worthwhile and makes you be as good for the next week

lornaloo · 24/11/2006 11:27

I think I've put on a pound. I'm not sure though as I havn't been to the loo and I was dressed when I weighed myself. I've eaten breakfast now and had 2 pints of water so I'll have to wait untill tommorrow before I can weigh again. But I think I'm either the same or up a pound.
Yesturday I ate
branflakes for brekkie
Chicken salad for lunch
Then I went to the swedish church for there christmas fair and had a slice of bread with swedish meatballs on it with beetroot cut into small chucks mixed with something like mayo or something creamy like that. Very yummy, but bad for the diet.
Then I had a princess cake. Which is traditional swedish cake, it had layers of sponge and cream and its covered with green sort of marsipan but softer thiner nicer and sweeter. Can't remember what its called.
Then I bought some peanut crisps to take back for dp because he always has them when we go to sweden. I ended up eating half of them in the car on the way home.
When I got home I had a spag bol waiting for me.
So I wasn't very good at all yesterday. It's not surprising I haven't lost anything.
I'm on my seven day break from my pill and I'm not going to take it again. Hoping that will work.

lornaloo · 24/11/2006 12:00

Marls just had a look at that link you showed me. So it's not a contraceptive pill it's a slimming pill.
Is it good for you?
Does it work?
How did you find out about it?
What if it's just another con?
Sorry for all the questions, just interested to know.
Kellie. Do you eat white bread?
You would prob find you'll lose weight if you switch white bread pasta and rice for brown pasta bread and rice.
White pasta, white rice and white bread are refined foods which convert into fat. They are quick to release sugar. This means you get a quick high followed by long slumps of energy. Brown bread pasta and rice keep you going for longer and are high in nutrients.

lornaloo · 24/11/2006 12:01

You're also more likely to have cravings for sugary foods after eating white carbs.

lornaloo · 24/11/2006 12:49

Sorry spelling mistakes in my posts.
Their not there.
Yesterday not yesturday...there is probably more...

loopity · 24/11/2006 14:33

Lornaloo - do you have family in Sweden? I love Scandinavia, my sis lives in Denmark

MrsFish · 24/11/2006 14:55

My best mate lives in Denmark too

texasrose · 24/11/2006 15:26

Hi,

Sorry if this infuriates you (some people are never satisfied!) but I've lost 12 lbs in 4 weeks. Is that too much, too soon? Is it unhealthy? It's due in part to having a poorly stomach for the last week and not wanting to eat much generally (I've got crohn's disease).

Has anyone got any advice how much weight is 'safe' to lose each week? Not that I want to lose much more tbh, but I could lose another half a stone quite happily. I'm just a bit worried about how fast it's coming off.

MrsFish · 24/11/2006 15:38

They usually say 1-2 pounds per week is a safe and healthy way to do it, all depends on a lot of factors though. Apart from your ill week, have you been eating enough? The danger is if you go too low on your calorie intake to lose the weight, as soon as you start eating normally again, the weight goes back on. If you really are worried though, you should go and see your doctor to put your mind at rest.

MrsFish · 24/11/2006 17:32

Well I am out for dinner tonight, so I'll post today's food so far

brekkie - 2oz cornflakes with hot water
Lunch - mixed bean and ham salad, teacake with gold

will have to see where we end up tonight for dinner

texasrose · 24/11/2006 18:05

Thanks MrsFish!

I haven't been starving myself but I have been eating low fat stuff. For example one day's food might look like:

Porridge with raisins for breakfast
Soup and rice cakes with low fat philadelphia, and a piece of fruit for lunch
Family meal reasonably low in fat, like sweet and sour pork with rice, or roast chicken, veg and boiled potatoes
Some days a glass of wine or small bar of choc in the evenings.

I haven't been counting calories but I have been steering away from things like cakes in the staff room!

I'm just going to keep an eye on my weight I think. Thank you!

MrsFish · 24/11/2006 18:09

Well you have done everything right, just see it as a lot of luck that you have lost it so easily... cow! [wink}

sweetheart · 24/11/2006 18:32

I stayed the same I am really chuffed after the weekend I had!

Went shopping today so not a great food day as I had a tuna jacket and hot choc but I walked loads so it should be ok - although I am about to order takeaway pizza for tea.

I got my outfit for the wedding in a few weeks - it's a size 10 which I was really pleased about and for the first time I wasn't moaning about lumps and bumps every time I tried something on (well except for my boobs which have dissapeared! I'm not happy about that!) Still there's always chicken fillets isn't there.

My total loss on this thread is still 7Ibs. I have a meal out on Sunday but I will be good the rest of the week - promise!

I'm really glad that I stayed the same even after a bad week as it means I'm still at a maintainable weight - I often worry that I've lost this much weight and once I stop dieting I won't be able to maintain it - although to be honest I think I'll be on a diet for the rest of my life.

Well done on your weight loss Mrs Fish - you muct be very proud of yourself - and 3" WOW - thats a dress size isn't it! Well done you!

Keep going everyone - only a few more Ib's to go to reach the 10Ib trarget! My ds is 1 next week and I have lost about 3.5 stone since he was born, I'm quite loving the new me!

loopity · 24/11/2006 19:01

Hi everyone
Well done texasrose - looks like you've been really eating sensibly and hence the good results. Initial weight loss is normally quite fast but after few weeks should slow to 1-2lbs as mrs fish said already.

Sweetheart - well done to you too! Must be great to know that you were able to enjoy last weekend without sabotaging your good work.

You are all really inspiring and I'm so impressed with your losses so far - I am going to have to get my act together! I have lost 5lbs so have 4 weeks to lose the other 5. Tomorrow is another week - here's hoping for a good one

I will need loads of encouragement because I tend to get down to where I am now weight-wise and then give up and resort to bad habits again. I know feel happier and healthier with those extra few pounds off - especially as they are the ones that hang out over the back of my jeans

PS Enjoy your meal out mrs fish

Evening all, well I have lost 1.5lbs this week I am soooo very pleased! total 4.5lbs since joining this thread. The wedding is next weekend so I am more than happy if I dont drop any more and manage to stay the same. Well done to the rest of you losers

lornaloo · 24/11/2006 21:12

Texarose when I went on a diet after having ds I lost 5lb in the first week, then 4 then 3 then my weight loss averaged at 2 pounds a week. I think the more you've got to loose the quicker it comes off. I was 14 stone after having ds and found it so easy to lose weight. I lost 4 and a half stone in the space of 5 months. I've been pretty much the same since then. This last half a stones being very stuborn. Although I must admit I'm really not trying as hard as should be.

Todays food.
Brek branflakes with semi skimmed milk.
Lunch 2 bananas and 3 satsumas.
Dinner 150grams w/m pasta with left over bolognese.
A cup of hot chocolate.
How many cals do you reckon I've had Mrs Fish? I know you're generally quite good at counting up cals.
The bolognese was made with extra lean mince and home made sauce.
The hot choc was with semi skimmed milk.
Any idea?

Lornaloo - without knowing the weight of everything you had, I would guestimate that you have had approx 1250 calories, which is bang on the amount we should be eating to lose weight at this stage

MrsFish · 25/11/2006 00:37

I had a lovely meal thanks and not at all bad calorie wise.

Expensive restaurant (as averything cheaper was full being a friday night and us not booking anywhere)

Starter - Chicken and roasted pepper salad - not much at all, I reckon 150 cals tops

Main - Sirloin steak, I large mushroom, I tomato, 3 onion rings and a bowl of chips ( I had half) - I reckon 500 cals ish

Dessert - few spoonfuls of DH's sorbet and a black coffee.

3/4 litre of sparkling water.

So all in all not too bad
