Good luck to everyone with week 2!

2lb off overall for me last week. Would have liked it to have been a bit more, but I wasn't 100% over the weekend with it so can't grumble.

Back in a proper routine this week. Aiming to get to the gym 3x and start walking the school run. It's barely 10 minutes each way but I usually drive as I am beyond crap in the mornings Blush

Two cartons of smoothie & a large tub of homemade hummus ready to go.

It's DD's birthday this Saturday & mine next Saturday so I have no room for manoeuvre the rest of the week Confused .

WaitingForMe · 08/09/2014 08:34

Day one of Duncan diet and I quite enjoyed my toast and tomatoes. I weighed in at 12st 5lb this morning but I ate everything in sight yesterday. I'm hoping it's a temporary weight gain and I'll soon be on my way to my first reward (new yoga outfit once I've been in the 11s for 7 days).

Heading to the gym soon but only to use my free massage and sit in the sauna for a bit before taking DS for a splash.

Is it just me and Tesse doing Duncan this week?

Souper · 08/09/2014 09:15

12st 4 and 1/4 today at the one week point, which is a loss of 5lb and 7/8. Pleased with that as I had yesterday off and had lunch out.

I plan to be back on the wagon agaon this week though. The 11s seem to be much more within reach now!

CatThiefKeith · 08/09/2014 09:16

Also back on the wagon today. Went out Saturday night, had pizza yesterday, scales are saying 12stone this morning!Sad

Looks like I will definitely be wearing the back up dress. Hopefully most of my 8lb gain is alcohol bloat. SadSad

Victrix · 08/09/2014 09:17

Another pound off.

How many calories does PMT burn? I am feeling homicidal.

Wifezilla · 08/09/2014 09:31

Well done to all those losers!

frankie5 well done on losing 2lbs, you've inspired me to load up on fruit and veg this week, thanks! Good luck for this week Grin

FavadiCacao · 08/09/2014 09:48

Well done all losers! [sparkling water toast Wine ]

Down only 0.2kg today but that's just shy of 3kgs and just over 6.5lbs in total, in 8 days. Grin
I hope my Scarsdale book gets here this week (starting to wonder about the meaning of despatched Hmm ); I need learn all the rules properly before I really play with my food (if I'm not allowed to eat it, then let me play with it!).
Well, onwards and downwards, everyone! :)

flightywoman · 08/09/2014 10:41

Second day of Dunc. Cooking steak at breakfast in prep for lunch was a bit much for the poor veggie husband!

BUT, I am already 3lbs down! It'll be all the peeing from the rooibos tea, but who cares. Grin

Apart from that I am knackered from the lack of caffeine and have a headache, but it'll be worth it.

frownyface · 08/09/2014 11:10

2lbs off this morning :) I am going for the slow and steady approach. Wasnt entirely virtuous all weekend had a mcds breakfast and a slice of cake saturday, prob could have lost a bit more but I find that if im feeling too deprived im less inclined to keep going long term. So back on the straight and narrow this week. Im making more of an effort to drink lots of water as I know i dont have nearly enough.

Last week I had two shakes for breakfast and lunch and a decent dinner, this week I will prob mix it up a bit and have a low cal meal for lunches too, mfp is helpful with this.

Onwards and upwards!

Good luck everyone for week 2 :)

PrimalLass · 08/09/2014 11:15

Pah, week 2 has become week 1 as I lost 0 last week. Am annoyed because I was 11.7 last night so expected to be 11.5 this morning. But I have a weird cycle when everything comes back on day 10 so that might explain a 1b or so away.

Have decided to fast today as ILs here and so I have to sit down with them to a normal-ish dinner. I'll make chilli and have cauli rice with it. I should be back to 11.4 tomorrow, and then I'll try and low carb.

Lucked · 08/09/2014 11:43

Well done Fava and losers! No matter how small.

Just under 5lbs weight loss for me last week. I have also lost 2inches from my natural waist although nothing significant for my lower tummy/muffin top.

I would love 3 lbs this week. I am kind of sticking to scarsdale although I substituted my slice of bread for 30g of bran flakes this morning to keep me regular as I want to avoid shitter tea if possible.

Big exercise class tonight which should burn a few calories.

Matildasmam22 · 08/09/2014 11:46

Well done everyone I caved yesterday and had Sunday dinner at my mams. It was bloody lush but back on the wagon today.

Itsfab Thanks it must be so hard with three. My seven year old is getting cheekier and it drives me up the wall. I think it's natural not to like your kids sometimes even if people don't like to admit it.

Do you think it might be worth seeing your GP. I know you said you have been on AD's before maybe you just need something to pick you up.

frankie5 · 08/09/2014 14:17

Well done Lucked and other losers.

Itsfab - I'm sure you are a good mum as you care so much. My DS can be really unpleasant sometimes and I feel guilty for always telling him off. But they have to understand how they should behave. Just don't comfort eat as if you lose the weight you will feel happier about yourself.

Another pound off this morning! And I am due on in a few days. Eaten porridge for breakfast, smoked salmon and salad for lunch. Gone for a run round the block this morning and going for a walk later. I'm determined to shift another pound by the weekend.

Wifezilla - I've cut up some oranges, melon and carrots and put in the fridge for snacking later. I've also boiled some eggs and I will snack on the egg whites. Good luck this week.

flightywoman · 08/09/2014 14:47

I have got some shittertea - Pukka cleanse - and now I am a little nervous! I think I'll hold off till this evening as I have a PTA meeting later and really can't be doing with evil farts at my friend's house!

Lunch was ok, though a little insubstantial so I may need to get better steak for later in the week, thin minute ones aren't enough. I generally do quite well with protein though, it does fill me up for longer than carbs, although I LOVE carbs with a passion.

One thing I love about the comments on Dunc's page is how everyone is banging on about it being chemical...ummm, I'm fairly sure that what makes it work is that it's a VLCD, not because it has magical combinations.

What do you think? Are any of you nutritionists or dieticians and can point to the science-y combo of eggs and grapefruit?

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 08/09/2014 15:28

Checking in to join all of the others who haven't lost as much as they'd have liked in the last week. I gave in to chocolate on both Saturday and Sunday as I was pretty disheartened with my results. I came home from work an hour ago thinking bugger it, pass me more chocolate but I need to reign myself in and not give up so easily.

So far today I've had a mini milky way, a lovely juicy peach, a banana, two spoons of cooked pasta and a tsp of honey in my tea. Not a perfect start but not doomed to failure either.

I have to get a grip and not give up. I give in too easily and that's always been my downfall. Just need to tide this storm. I want to lose 3lbs this week. I'm going to have to work for it.

I'm tempted to change tactic and go for Duncans like so many of you are doing but need to wait out scarsdale for one more week. I haven't started today on scarsdale but will finish it off right.

Well done to all of you who lost. A particular shout and cheer to Waiting. One day, I'll be there at the finishing line too.

PrimalLass · 08/09/2014 15:40

I'm so hungry but have had a chocolate mini milk (30 cals, but so good) and a cuppa. Chilli is in the oven and smells so good. Roll on 6pm.

flightywoman · 08/09/2014 17:34

There has been a teeny tiny cheat! To the tune of one tea with milk, a quarter of small courgette, half a medium carrot and subbing chicken breast for thighs with the fat cut off.

I think/hope in the scheme of things this is acceptable!

StairsInTheNight · 08/09/2014 17:44

I didn't lose this week Sad

But actually when I looked at what I ate honestly it wasn't surprising.

No cheating this week- hoping for a 2lb loss. And looking forward to a week or two of slim and save where I lose a stone (ha!) from next Monday.

Well done all those who lost!

WyrdByrd · 08/09/2014 18:21

Not done badly today - smoothie, hummus & veg, fat free Greek yogurt, banana and a wedge of watermelon. Just had lovely fresh tuna steak pan fried in a tsp each of olive oil & butter with Cajun seasoning and lime juice with a huge salad.

Just need to stay on the straight and narrow for the rest of the evening and try and forget that I have almond magnums in the freezer. Off to the gym later if I can get DD in bed on time which should help.

TwoTonTessie · 08/09/2014 18:31

Day 1 almost over and I haven't cheated at all. I even declined a Krispy Kreme at work despite a rumbly tummy Grin. Just boiling eggs ready for my tea -yum!

Well done to all the losers.

2kidsintow · 08/09/2014 18:52

I tried the full and slim sachets from boots.
Went down ok, but had one heck of a funny aftertaste, not washed away by some water. Coffee did the trick so will see if I can stomach it for a few days.

Today's food comes in at 660 cals. And I've done plenty of walking and will go out a bit later for a walk with a friend. Every little helps. Just hope the full and slim doesn't gave any untoward effects wyile I'm put on my walk.

Lucked · 08/09/2014 19:27

I am annoyed with myself today has been a bit chaotic and I didn't sit down and have a proper lunch, I have also bought a 500 cal flatbread for dinner as DH is having pizza. I think overall calories will be okay ~ 1200 but just feels disorganised, I want to get into the habit of three meals a day. Mindful eating and all that jazz.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 08/09/2014 19:35

Anyone who declines a KK donut has my utmost respect. TwoTonne I salute your indefatigability.

So hungry I could eat an ox.

Do you think I could have chocolate for breakfast, chocolate for lunch and chocolate or dinner and lose weight.....

FavadiCacao · 08/09/2014 19:44

Lucked you'll be back on track tomorrow. Well done for your losses. :)

Tonight I'm cheating a little! I managed to pick up a crab for a couple of pounds and the samphire looked so tender. There is no way I can pass the chance of making the most of the lovely crab flavour. Crab stock is cooking: 2 large tomatoes, carrot, celery, small onion and 2 tbs wine. I'm going to use some of the stock to flavour and cook some gurnard fillets to which I'm adding garlic, chillies, cherry tomatoes (before the rot in the garden!), 2tbs of wine and the crab meat at the end of cooking. All served with samphire (and potatoes for the others). sick of salad for dinner

TheHoundsBitch · 08/09/2014 19:47

My cals should come in under 1200 (just!) today, had a stressful situation with another school mum and DS has been v hyper/ tearful this evening so I have been brooding and a bit nibbly . I'll be better tomorrow.
