I had help with a lighter dinner as the cat nicked half of it Angry

FavadiCacao · 24/09/2014 23:30

Vic, The Cat/Dog helper diet, just got to love it!Grin It could be worse... The Zoo diet!

Not entirely up-to-date with I might need a crash course on SW. Doesn't SW allow different styles? Our bodies have an amazing ability to adapt to different eating styles/environments always in preferance to resist weight loss, which makes it so doubly hard when trying to trim ourself.

frownyface · 25/09/2014 02:50

2.30am and im awake. Iv got a nasty infection thats tracked all up my face causing the swelling so I have been given 2 lots of anti bs to take 3x a day. Cant sleep as face hurts :( my cheek is hot in that side, got at least another day of this til the anti bs kick in. Its draining yukky stuff into my mouth so this would e plain the sicky feeling I guess. The tooth will need a root canal done or possibly taken out- the good news is the dentist was just lovely so im not worried too worried about going back.

The worst thing is I couldnt eat any cake at all! This is unheard of for me! Didnt go out in the end as felt sick, had 2 rich tea biscuits to line tum for evening pills, and was fast asleep by 8pm. Its my sons party on sunday so im hoping I feel significantly better by then.

Thankyou for the kind words and encouragement :)

Flighty I hope you see some results soon-so bloody hard work being disiplined(sp) when you arent gettting any results. Are you drinking lots? As favadi says it might be worth mixing things up a bit-hope you get some good losses in soon Thanks

Wow im liking that link! Looks like fun Grin.

catimini · 25/09/2014 09:30

Please please may I join? Am recently relocated to singapore and all these teeny tiny Asian girls are making me feel like a lump. Pic on my profile - last nights rosh hashana dinner and I thought I looked good! Until I saw this pic :(

frownyface · 25/09/2014 14:58

Hiya cat, in the absence of our OP im sure its fine to welcome you on board! :)

I cant see your pic as your profile is set to private (either that or im doing something wrong which is very likely!). We all think we look terrible in pics (I do anyway!) My husband took pics of my son and I with a couple of my sons gifts-omg i look hideous! Shock coz im in my pjs iv got no bra on, nothing to hide the shame of massive tum and boobs. Needless to say those pics will NOT be going on facebook!

Wow singapore sounds very exciting what is it like to live there? What is rosh hashana sounds very exotic!

Have you got alot of weight to lose? Im in it for the long haul as I need to get 5 stone off but something has finally kicked in and im all motivated :)

Good luck. Do you have a strategy at all or just generally eating better?

When I have a bad day I look at my fat pics to inspire me to keep going, have you got something similar that might work for you?

FavadiCacao · 25/09/2014 21:35

Hello Cat. Best wishes for a happy and good year to you and your family. :)

Frowny, I hope your tooth has stopped giving gip. Flowers Difflam mouthwash has a numbing effect and it's available over the counter; it's a little pricey (~£8) but got my niece through the same problem until the antibiotics kicked in.

Victrix · 25/09/2014 21:54

Hey Cat, welcome Grin

frownyface · 25/09/2014 22:55

Its still hurting quite a bit, thanks for the tip favadi will go get some tomo :)

catimini · 26/09/2014 00:55

Favadi thank you, the same to you :)

Frowny I hope your tooth heals quickly :(, at least you're not eating much!

I just got here about 2 weeks ago....still adjusting. Embarrassingly, i have been using myfitnesspal religiously for over three months but haven't seen any changes. I think I eat too much even though mfp says I'm within my range, and since I got here the wine has been out of control.

My friend just lost 5 kg (11lbs or so) in a month and has pro, used to type up all the details.

Rosh hashana is the jewish new year so I wish you all a happy and sweet, and SLIM one,

coffeeinbed · 26/09/2014 19:36

I lost you!

Thread dropped off from my TIO and I took it as an omen to stuff myself with cake.

Grin

Not really.
Dropped another pound.
Will try harder next week!

Victrix · 27/09/2014 04:51

Downside- gallstones are bastards. Infected ones are extra bastardy.

Upside- hospital food diet! Grin

FavadiCacao · 27/09/2014 10:57

Vic Flowers Are they going to remove your gallbladder?

The Nihil by mouth diet seems to be in fashion this month. Shock
l4k, Byrd How are you?
How is your tooth doing, Frowny?

Coffee, well done :)

I've managed 0.8 kg and 1/2" off waist, legs and arms this week -2nd week of Scardale off officially ends tomorrow. Only 4.7kg left to target 2.

Victrix · 27/09/2014 11:31

Yep, was on a waiting list anyway but they're just going to keep me in and do it. Going to be losing of loads of stones Grin

l4k · 27/09/2014 14:55

Fava, thanks for asking. I've been ill for a week with double ear infection which has caused me more pain than the gallbladder operation. Just starting to feel a bit better. Was doing well maintaining the 7 lb loss from Duncan diet before op but has now all gone to pot and I have been comfort eating to try to cheer myself up this week. Didn't work and am now feeling fat aswell as ill and pissed off.
So that's how I amConfused bet you wish you never askedGrin
Well done on your progress
And Vic, the op to remove the gallbladder is no where near as painful as an infected gallbladder. It was fine. One tip, the highest "keyhole" is near your bra so take a selection to see what's comfiest

I found old, not tight and with just a little bar between cups best. Good luck.

flightywoman · 27/09/2014 18:18

I am at my wit's end. I've been sensible and made good choices all week, I have tracked everything, most days I haven't gone beyond 1200 -1500 calories and today I am pretty much back where I was before a week of Duncan. So that was a waste of time...

FavadiCacao · 27/09/2014 18:25

Vic, Grin

l4k, Flowers. Any type of surgery is hard going for anyone, let alone a major one ( plus an ear infection, Sad ). Feeling fat, ill and pissed off is all part of the course isn't it why we are here? If you are replying... you haven't abandoned ship! :) You may have been knocked down a little but you'll Wink

Victrix · 27/09/2014 18:37

Thanks for the bra tip Grin

I'm almost at the stage I'll have a go myself.

WyrdByrd · 27/09/2014 18:38

l4 glad you're finally feeling better - I think I'd rather have my gallbladder removed again than a double ear infection tbh...you poor thing.

All the best for your op Vic. I found it fairly easy going but was absolutely knackered for a good week afterwards.

I'm getting on ok, albeit not thrilled about the way one of my 'keyholes' is healing. There's nothing actually wrong with it, but aesthetically speaking it looks bloody awful Sad .

Appetite is more or less back bugger and have just had homemade from scratch chicken jalfrezi with all the trimmings as DD's Godfather is staying for the weekend. He is out with DH later and I'm having wine.

Oh well...

FavadiCacao · 27/09/2014 18:55

No it wasn't a waste of time, Flighty!:) 1) Duncan worked for you. 2) You now know what hasn't worked for you.
We already know we are all different...curly, wavy, straight, thin, medium, thick, black, brown, red, blonde hair...what suits one person, does not necessarily suit the next and we also know that hairstyle/clothes which suited us 10 years ago (or ten minutes) ago ain't going to work today: the same applies to diet style. :) I have played a few 'Swap and Change' games along my weigh down: low calories; start/stop/start (intermitting on and off, which ever style); low carb, high fat; low carb, low fat; high protein, low carb; high protein...

FavadiCacao · 27/09/2014 19:32

There is a prescription cream for anti- cord - scarring, which my dad was given in Italy and there is a prescription anti-scarring cream in the UK (not sure if there are the same).
Without any creams: Ds's scar looked awful last year but it's improving-no longer red and starting to smooth; my mum's appendix cut had a drain for a two weeks but is barely noticible now; my appendix cut is virtually invisible ; as for my keyhole surgery (different surgery) cuts:one is completely invisible and the other (which was horrible and got infected) is very faint.
Byrds, road references and surgeons reminded me of :)

Victrix · 28/09/2014 10:33

I am properly bored now. I am on a steady diet of tea and painkillers Grin

catimini · 29/09/2014 01:32

Victrix, nothing like looking on the bright side :)

I weighed myself this morning, after seeing and without anything to drink, not even a coffee. 140lbs - yikes! I'd like to see what I look like at 120, ideally.

Yesterday was good, earnt 516 cals from exercise, but only ate 1300, so netted about 600.

Scrambled egg this morning wi some lettuce and a tomato, and a milky non fat cappuccino.

frownyface · 29/09/2014 09:19

Good morning all. Week 5 commences today! (I think this is week 5 isnt it?!) Lets hope we are all feeling a little less crappy this week.

How is everybody? Vic have you had your op yet and are you home? If your feeling bored maybe you could sign up for the free month of amazon prime or netflix or something? They both have some cracking series to watch :) vikings on prime is particularly good....and the eye candy....;)

I4k are you better now? Infections are bloody horrible- my face is still swollen from my tooth infection. Guess I might have to get more as face still hasnt entirely gone down swelling wise but we shall see.

What a bloody horrible week. But Iv dropped a number which always cheers me up. Due to weigh on weds now which is also the last day of my anti biotics hopefully :)

I have been suitably restrained and had a 500 cal pizza at pizza hut yesturday- I couldnt finish it! All week only had 2 slices of cake (nothing to do with raging infection and nausea oh no) and guess what? We have uneaten cake! For the first time ever! Shock

FavadiCacao · 29/09/2014 11:20

Good Morning! :)
Vic Flowers, Do you have a date for your op?

It is week 5 and only 2 days to go to OPTober. I found a new diet: Grin

I'm back on the 2 weeks on of Scarcedale: I've already started the count down of the 13 pink grapefruits sitting in a bowl...to the tune of ten green bottles! Grin

catimini · 29/09/2014 13:42

Favadi do you have a link to what the Scarsdale diet actually is? I'm v curious.

It's the end of the day in Singapore and I have had a very good day with 500 calls left to eat as per MFP. will go to bed dreaming of the piece of cheese and toast I'll have tomorrow morning :)
