Help!! Weighed 12,5 at start of week, have been trying really bloody hard, just weighed and am exactly the same today. This can't happen.

Weigh in on Monday. What should I do? Two days to lose two pounds. Advice please!!

StairsInTheNight · 06/09/2014 08:00

Scrolling back through the thread for ideas.

Matildasmam, what an awful shock. Hope you are ok.

WottaMess · 06/09/2014 08:29

Matildasmam I am so sorry Hmm

Have been Duncaning all week meticulously but always knew last night would tip me off the wagon - a colleagues leaving do with a preordered meal. I had a chicken burger and ate the bun and the chips (ashamed). I was down from 72.6kg to 70.1 but last night back to 70.9 Shock. Last day today and I won't cheat. Would love the scales to give me something equivalent to starting with a 10 not 11 (sub 70kg) but doubt that will happen now. Just need to not put it all back on tomorrow!

FavadiCacao · 06/09/2014 09:25

I like your version of fish n chips, MrsG.
can you do meals on wheels? Good idea! I can wear a pair of skates and get extra exercise. Food prep and skating: that should be a few calories on MFP.

Last night started like a virgin (mohito) and finished as Papa don't preach

WhatsGoingOnEh · 06/09/2014 09:28

Matildasmam, what a horrific loss. I'm so sorry. Only 20? :( I hope your DP is ok.

I'm back up to 10 7 again - Hmm - and don't feel I deserve to be. Am still psychotically premenstrual, had another row with brother, haven't seen fiancé all week because he "couldn't get away" after work on Thursday night (wanker) and has since been sending me plaintive texts about missing me. WELL DONT CANCEL DATES THEN, FUCKHEAD.

Fed up. Literally, according to the scales. And what TF has happened to Scarsdale?! It used to be MAGICAL. Now it's SHIT. God I need my period!!

Whats Flowers
This is a strange age. I have had times of were I put 5-6kgs overnight and take ages to lose it again. I have been on a diet since May trying to lose the last mad weight gain (thyroid fine). The scarsedale only seem to be working for me at the moment beacause of the substantial calorie deficiency and an obscene amount of exercise. Last night I had 274cals worth of alcohol and I'm up the 0.3kg I had lost yesterday. Add 666 scales telling me am another 5kg away from target. It's just cruel.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 06/09/2014 10:02

Thanks to Matilda. Must be horrible for all involved.

Thanks to Whats too. I truly feel the same. Lost nothing yesterday and put ON a pound today. Scarsdale is supposed to be my magic solution and I'm still waiting for the 'alchemy'.

Be strong though. Don't give up so soon. Sometimes it just needs a little longer to show. Some one else up thread mentioned the BBC article about all diets working as long as you STICK to them. So whatever happens with the scales and whether I see a result or not, I'm not going to waver and I WILL, I WILL, I WILL be slim.

You're about with people around you- don't punish yourself by giving up on yourself.

Stairs, you too. Just hang in there. You might not lose it in two days but it WILL cone off if you stick to it.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 06/09/2014 10:05

Favadi tell us what is an 'obscene' amount of exercise please. Shame me into more than giving up after 20 mins interval training on the treadmill. Blush

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 06/09/2014 10:10

*frustrated with those around you.

CatThiefKeith · 06/09/2014 10:10

Those of you not losing weight, are you drinking enough?

I realise that alcohol bloat is slightly different, but after my little carb fest last night I weighed 11.13 (again) I had mainlined water all day and woke up this morning back at 11.8.

I find on a low carb diet I need to drink at least 2l of water a day to lose weight.

FavadiCacao · 06/09/2014 10:19

Anything that goes, TheDiet. I start on my ab machine then I am on my step machine for 1hrs (which was followed by weights and squats until last Sunday); walking; ice skating when I get the chance; this week I have introduced Tracy Anderson as well (got up to 45mins). Last week I repainted three rooms from ceiling to skirting instead of washing the walls. There are days my alarm is at 5 am so I can get the lot in! Admitedly, 9am 'til 3-4pm is mostly sitting.

FavadiCacao · 06/09/2014 10:23

CTK, well done. :)
I always drank a lot (been brought in hot country) but since lower/low carb'ing I go through 2l just overnight! Grin

Lucked · 06/09/2014 11:13

Are we all a bit older?, I fear that may be the problem. I am not giving up yet. This will work, it has to, I have no back up plan!

I am not going on the scales today, I had indian food last night, the plan was to only have tandoori chicken and salad but DH felt guilty getting a starter and he phoned the order in so a bowl of Daal appeared in front of me and I may have had a small spoon of his rice and curry. Even though I think I was quite good it will have been really salty and I will be retaining water.

Substituted a child's size amount of porridge for my toast this morning. I have never really done toast for breakfast and I am a bit fed up of it. Absolutely loving the grapefruit though.

LaconicIcon · 06/09/2014 11:44

I'm 51. Scales still not budged despite eating around 800 daily calories for the last 10 days Sad I hate to think that this is my body's level of calories to maintain.

coffeeinbed · 06/09/2014 11:45

Being older definitely does not help.
At all.

FavadiCacao · 06/09/2014 12:05

I hope not Laconic! I don't know if this helps. I had been doing low carb for ages and only seeing a couple pounds loss and regain (1500-1800 cals), whilst feeling rubbish, lethargic and depressed. I upped the carbs by eating all fruit (not just berries and still ~1500-1800cals) and started to feel energetic and happy and, although the scales temporarily went up, I then sterted losing weight; lost some more by lowering the fat (1200-1500) and now I'm losing on low cals (on Scarsedale struggling to reach 1000cals, substituting bread for a piece of fruit). Maybe it is the type of food we eat?!

FavadiCacao · 06/09/2014 12:17

J just realised...I'm not bashing low carb (I'm still lowish myself)! I meant maybe each of us reacts differently to different ratios of food groups. (eg. currently on lowish carb, very low fat, but high in protein):)

Matildasmam22 · 06/09/2014 12:19

I'm 26.
Thanks everyone frowny they terrify me sorry about your accident Thanks

I am now 10 10 probably cos of the last couple of shitty days.

Back on the diet wagon today. I'm thinking Epsom bath low carb and mad toddler chasing.

itsfab how's your son doing?

LaconicIcon · 06/09/2014 12:50

I'm doing the same as you Fava.
I've tried low carb in the past, I lose weight easily but I get massively depressed when I go into ketosis. It also makes me shit myself on a regular basis. Tried Paul McKenna in the past but the whispering

LaconicIcon · 06/09/2014 12:52

Damn phone!
As I was saying.. the whispering freaked me out.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 06/09/2014 14:22

Favadi, you really are superwoman.

Did an hour workout from youtube. Totally exhausted. All I want to do is grab that jar of chocolate orange spread that DS left on the kitchen table and just stick my hand in and slather it all over my tongue.

Dieting is so hard. I so need to work on my self restraint.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 06/09/2014 17:26

You're all so lovely. :)

I think I've had signs brown gunk that my period's imminent so I am expecting tomorrow to bring a) sanity; b) calm; and c) relief from the 24/7 cheese craving I'm currently suffering.

Fiancé popped in for a cup of tea this afternoon so I feel much, much happier. I love him. :)

Dad's making pizza for everyone tonight - I've got chicken. How are you cooking yours, Favadi? I second the Meals on Wheels request.

How about we all give ourselves tomorrow "off" then start again Monday? Or is that a bad idea?

FavadiCacao · 06/09/2014 18:22

I 'm pleased you are feeling better, Whats.:)
Just walked in through the door, not having had the chance of lunch, so I'm keep it simple: in tomato, garlic and sage over a bed of lettuce (20mins max!).

WottaMess · 06/09/2014 18:31

Last Duncan supper tonight and it's steak and salad so doesn't feel too trying though my tummy's finally got a bit erm slithery this evening Blush. No shittertea either. Grin

I am using this as a kick start to hopefully more sustainable dieting so this marks the end if the road for me. I intend modest pub lunch celebratory meal tomorrow and then it's sensible from me. Hmm With some exercise ideally HmmHmm

Thanks for giving me a boost though. My jeans fit a little easier already and that gives me hope. Will post final weigh in later.
