Don't be daft. 50lb off deserves all the whistles and bells.

WyrdByrd · 03/09/2014 17:12

Well done CTK - what a brilliant achievement!

Like a lot of people above posted recently I'm aiming for 10/11lb of this month, and hoping I can shift 3st by the end of the year.

We are seeing friends the first weekend of October & the female half of the couple is 15 years my senior and obsessed with diets drives me feckin' mental every time we see them so it would be nice if there was a noticeable difference by then. Also two wedding receptions next month and a friend's big birthday bash first weekend of the new year.

We have building going on at work and INSET day today so we are currently drowning in cake and I haven't touched a crumb - don't think I'd have managed that level of restraint without this thread fit support tbh.

Dinner is supposed to be Mojito chicken, salad & sweet potato wedges but my peeps are due back late so may have a ham & tomato omelette instead.

Off to make tuna & bean salad in a mo - think I will scream if I have to eat any more hummus this week.

Favadi I may well steal your pork recipe for next week sometime!

Itsfab · 03/09/2014 17:16

Even without this thread CTK you would still have lost the weight so revel in your huge achievement and be proud.

I am so emotional today and the kids all bickering at the tea table isn't helping.

Had a mouthful of coke but enjoyed it and no guilt which is far more important.

And DS1 is fine with all the things I took him to the doctor with (rashes and spots/bites/looked like chicken pox) but he has a lump in his breast tissue.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 03/09/2014 18:07

There's such a lovely positive attitude on here! HIGH FIVE CRAZY REBELS!

And hell yes about vanity and clothes bring the best motivation. Bollocks to health, longevity, etc - none of that crap ever made a woman peel the Wotsits wrappers from her thighs and hit the gym. But clothes did! I have two Blush wardrobes full of hotness clothes that I'm dying to get back into. I've banned myself from buying more clothes. I have to get back into the old ones.

Do any of you do what I do, though - lose something minuscule, like 0.002g, and immediately start prising themselves into hot pants, skinny jeans, leather cat suits, etc? I do, every time. I'm 1lb down this morning but you should see me - squeezed into shiny (SHINY!) Capri trousers and a skintight polo neck top. I'm not thin enough to carry this look off yet. It's like they changed the end of Breakfast at Tiffany's, and he found Audrey Hepburn slumped on her bed after eating ice-cream for 18 months.

But I do feel eerily calm and in control. The kids keep looking at me warily. "Who is this woman? When will the other screechy one return..?"

I've followed Scarsdale to the letter today (apart from the letters that formed "all visible fat removed") to see if it still actually DOES work like I promised you all it did. But I was so hungry, I ate dinner at 4.45pm so now I have hours to fill without chewing. While Mum and Dad go out to my favourite restaurant. (Do they do this stuff on purpose?!)

Flowers, itsfab and fabboy1. I'm not surprised you are emotional. Hopefully,it is some hormonal or sweat glands changes.

You bet, Whats! but I wait 'til I lost 0.02g because I know I would have lost most of the weight from boobs, toes, hair! [grr]

WyrdByrd, the mushrooms -I used a mix- taste nice; I added zest from 1/4 of grapefruit (infinite supply these days!), 2 tbs of white wine, onion and thyme; I'll let you know how they taste once the involtini are out of the oven.

WyrdByrd · 03/09/2014 18:41

I feel your pain What's - I'm ravenous, although thankfully haven't had dinner yet. I may be forced to eat the chopping board whilst it's cooking though.

Unfortunately I have too far to go to squeeze myself into anything remotely sexy - but I do have a bag in the loft with several brand new, 18yo size 12's in that I bought when I was starting to put weight on back in my early twenties Blush . The majority of them haven't really dated - there's a gorgeous blue summer dress which I wore & loved and a gold mini dress which I'd love to get in for my 40th.

WyrdByrd · 03/09/2014 18:42

Sounds lovely - I'll try it one day when DH is out as he's not a mushroom fan!

FavadiCacao · 03/09/2014 18:57

Would he like spinach and toasted, chopped hazelnuts/pinenuts or spinach and bacon/parma ham?

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 03/09/2014 19:03

Favadi I can't find my Scarsdale book atm, but I can't remember seeing mushrooms on the menu I'm following. He offers a few different menu options and it may be on the other one. Having said that, on the first day we had mixed vegetables and you could have included them in there.

The thing with Scarsdale is, he insists you follow the plan down to a tee. You outlines what you have to eat and you stick to it. So there's no faffing about about what to eat tonight from the allowed ingredients- you eat what the boss says. I find myself pretty tempted to do things my own way but I guess it teaches discipline and control too. It also stops me from nibbling and picking at food whilst I'm in the kitchen preparing and dishing out family meals.

Gunmast Just thinking about eating nothing but eggs all day makes me want to fart. I’ve never been brave enough to try it but let us know how it goes.

Itsfab I also have a box of red hair dye sitting in my bathroom cabinet. It’s pretty rich and looks on the box but it’s sat there for a few months as I’m nervous and feel I’ll end up looking like a clown. I just need to pluck up the courage. Or maybe choose something more conservative and befitting my age.

CTK Well done on the 50lb. I bet losing that much weight makes all the difference to your life. I had also lost 50lbs a few years ago. I was barely recognisable. I’ve put 25lbs of it back on again though.

Whatsgoing Thank you! I love making recipes up and using my ingredients to rustle up something new but that’s a curse in itself. If I wasn’t so interested in food and if it didn’t preoccupy me so much I’d be a lot slimmer. That’s another thing I noticed about lots of skinnies- they often aren’t so interested in food, tastes and cooking.

Up until now I’ve also followed Scarsdale down to the tee, except for one tablespoon of cottage cheese that I had with my toast today because I was just so bloody starving. But I haven’t got any lamb so today I’ll be substituting dinner for the same burgers I had yesterday.
I feel like I should be exercising as well and adjusting my diet But I’m too lazy these days. Is anyone else working out?

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 03/09/2014 19:09

Just read the comments on the James Duncan diet and now I feel like I really should be working out too. Problem is I don't have the energy too...

Now what?

coffeeinbed · 03/09/2014 19:11

How much have you lost DietStartsTomorrow?

TheHoundsBitch · 03/09/2014 19:13

Eek. I just logged into my fitness pal, which I havent used for 33 months BTW... And the last weight I had recorded was 16lb lighter than I am today

I'm sooooo faaaaaaat

Itsfab · 03/09/2014 19:14

I just feel like crying. DS1 has just been in tears as he can't take the massive capsule he has been given and he has to take four a day ffs. He was sick in the sink in the end. Waiting on a call back from the doctors to try and get a liquid. Bless him, he has just emailed me a page from Wikipedia to say how hard it is to take a tablet and remedies. I know it is hard. I used to have to take calpol for period pain as I couldn't swallow a tablet then a pharmacist friend suggest I have a drink first so my mouth wasn't dry. Luckily I was able to do it as I was on meds for years and now I can take tablet with no real problems.

The lump looks like something boys of this age can get and it is okay but the doctor was worried and it could be something sinister.

Sad. Sorry to spoil the thread.

FavadiCacao · 03/09/2014 19:40

(((Hugs))) Ds puts tablets at the back of the tongue in the right orientation and then drink some water (a straw might help).

Itsfab · 03/09/2014 19:48

DH has gone to get the new prescription but thank you Favadi. I will bear it in mind for the future. And will buy some straws.

How am I supposed to get him to take it 4 times a day, an hour before food or on an empty stomach when it tastes horrible? I am seriously thinking about waking him up to have it to make it so he doesn't need to have it at school.

Doilooklikeatourist · 03/09/2014 19:58

iItsfab DS still can't swallow tablets and he's 19
We still squish them into jam or yoghurt if there's no liquid alternative

So , I've just done my food diary in MFP and I'm on 863 calories so I had a bourbon biscuit to celebrate

Still haven't had a slim tea , asi have to pick DD up from a school trip at about 11-30 pm , and don't want to be in the school bus bay all of a slither

FavadiCacao · 03/09/2014 20:01

Thank you TheDiet. I remember how strict it was. Mushrooms are on the shopping list on the web link but I can't see them on either the diet or the keep trim , so I took it to be part of salad. Other than the mushrooms (12 calories), I stuck to the rules. Spinach, rocket and meat baked in parcels.

On the upside, the involtini were gorgeous; and the left over mushrooms were lovely mixed in with the rocket. Complementing a ver tasty tuna, rocket and grapefruit salad with a dusting of chilli and a squeeze of lemon, in lettuce parcels.

coffeeinbed · 03/09/2014 20:03

My dad can't swallow pills and he's in his 70s.

there's no growing out of this...
Sorry, itsfab.

FavadiCacao · 03/09/2014 20:04

Could brushing teeth straight after or just rinsing with mouthwash work for fabboy?

Itsfab · 03/09/2014 20:11

DoILookLikeATourist - I was in my 30's before I could take tablets!

This is my plan, will it work? I have said I will get up twice in the night to give him his medicine so he doesn't have to worry about doing it at school (this will not happen) or timing his food. Medicine still works at night, yes?

So 8.30pm, 2.30am, 7am, 4.30pm. Will that work? Can't do the 8.30 as he leaves at 7.20 and then I am home at 4.30pm. It says four times a day not every 6 hours.

I will have water ready.

Still upset.

Now minifabboy has just appeared and has spots on his torso.

Itsfab · 03/09/2014 20:13

How does your dad manage. coffee?

coffeeinbed · 03/09/2014 20:15

Ummm....

With great difficulties. (and a lot of cognac for my mum, her fav)
He's also terrified of needles.
Pathetic.

Souper · 03/09/2014 20:16

I bought some proper Shittertea today from the health food shop - the Slimatee with senna in. It was the last box on the shelf - they must have had a run on them! I wonder if the shop assistants were wondering why the local population is suddenly constipated?

WhatsGoingOnEh · 03/09/2014 20:27

All of your clever recipes sound AMAZING. And Hounds - you are doing something about your weight! No wailing! Positivity!

And yes, I'm too tired lazy to exercise. I know I need to, it really changes everything around. Redistributes the fat. I have a rowing machine RIGHT HERE, ffs, and I signed up to receive the Concept2 daily rowing workout emails... But nope.

I just went berserk and stuffed in 1/3 pack Frazzles (will my body think these were just the slice of toast I DIDN'T have for breakfast? Maybe?), and a thumb-full of neat Bovril. And some melon. Now I'm drinking a mint tea, ashamed.

Going to bed in a minute.

Confused now. Medicine is 3 times a day.

Have to afford giving it at school so have done now then will do 7am and 4pm then no idea.
