...but I don't know what.

I am sick of being on a diet, off a diet, on another diet, off that diet to, ad infinitum.

I desperately need to lose the two stone I put on while pregnant four years ago, but I can't seem to stick to anything. I am currently falling off the slimming world wagon, having previously tried most things out there - WW, low carb in various guises, hypno, cal counting...

Not sure what I hope to gain from posting this. I am just so fed up of it all and so fed up of being fat and needed somewhere to rant.

As you were.

Good evening all Smile
I am loving the spreadsheet but can't add my starting weight on my phone so will post it here:
Starting weight 66.5kg
I would like to be down nearer the 60kg mark again.
I have had a busy week and enjoyed trying new recipes from my new cook books and the associated website. I have discovered that I really enjoy raw fennel, tasty and crunchy and not a packet of crisps!
I am finding that planning ahead is key, if I get too hungry I find it difficult to stick to my healthy meals but am happy to eat them if they are in my lunchbag or the fridge.
Fruit tea is also really comforting during the day when I just need something.

Totally failing at exercise so far and really need to do better Blush
I have an injured back so am limited to the more gentle exercises like swimming and Pilates - just need to get over the being scared to stress my back.

EmpressOfBedlam · 28/08/2014 21:49

Eeeew. Yes, good point. We all work with children who are dirty beasts so another good piece of advice!!

EmpressOfBedlam · 28/08/2014 21:50

tweight have you tried Tai Chi? I do this often and it has helped me with my back.

TweightTwoo · 28/08/2014 21:54

Empress I have not tried Tai Chi but will now look into it, thank you for the recommendation.

I will be looking at the office biscuit jar differently tomorrow now, thankfully I have never really got in the habit of eating biscuits/cakes at work even though I like baking and taking them in for the team.

Ledkr · 28/08/2014 21:58

I had a bath and am now sat with dh sipping a mint tea. No sweets.
I forgot to mention that I'm having some gallstone issues at the moment so have to eat low fat, chocolate in particular sets off an attack so I have that to keep me on the straight and narrow.

JeniJones · 28/08/2014 22:24

May I join please. Am I right in thinking that we are losing the fat anyway we want?

AddictedtoCrunchies · 28/08/2014 22:33

Yes you're welcome to join. We will take sw, ww, 5.2, low carb, Harcombe, Rosemary C, MFP calorie counting or cutting limbs off.
Some started last Tues and some next Tues. Just post your start date (or not if you don't want to), and our glamorous Mint will add you to the rainbow spreadsheet.
Tell your story if you want but no pressure. Smile
Welcome

EmpressOfBedlam · 28/08/2014 22:34

Yep jeni welcome!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 28/08/2014 22:34

Start WEIGHT not date. See, even my thumbs are fat!

JeniJones · 28/08/2014 22:43

Thanks Smile
Start weight 14stone 5 and 5ft 9 inches tall, size 16 (thanks to however did the spreadsheet)

Just saw a photo of myself and I didn't like it. Being tall I can take more weight and as I size 16 I sort of felt ok BUT the photo made me realise I don't like the way I look. I will be doing Paul McKenna Gastric Band and mindful eating. I will go back through the thread and have a good (long) read.
Nice to meet you all Grin

TheSameBoat · 28/08/2014 22:49

This sounds crazy but this is my first day in a month without having my usual glass of vino. I only have one a day but i know that it piles on the pounds. Today I went to pour myself one then put the top back on. It's nearly 11and hey, I survived it!!

Weighing in tomorrow as have to dig my scales out!

starsinthenight · 28/08/2014 23:16

Congrats on not having the vino TheSameBoat - me too!
Thanks for the fab inspirational link Talkinginpeace. So v reassuring that weight loss can happen. Should have been in bed a while ago, but too engrossed in the success stories!

JeniJones · 28/08/2014 23:32

o I'm on my phone so do I need to add it separately. Sorry I'm a bit slow. Wink

JeniJones · 28/08/2014 23:33

Meant I'm a bit slow at getting the hang of it IYSWIM

Greenrememberedhills · 28/08/2014 23:44

Thesameboat, that has been my downfall. Two glasses of wine 4-5 nights a week. I think that is why SW has been an issue.

antimatter · 29/08/2014 00:58

I hope is not too late to join Smile

I am 14st 1lb and know that 2 st off by Christmas is doable. I am 5'3'' and feel that my weight is making me very tired and fed up that I can't do things I like such as long distance walking.

I've lost 1st 4lb with BIWI at the LC bootcamp this summer and kept it off!

I am going to lc as I am comfortable with all of the rules and dropping carbs improved my sleep and made me feel better.

I can share one great snack with you - raw celery with a bit of cream cheese and a tiny drop of marmite is delicious.

We are having challenge at work until early Oct. To walk a lot and log in our daily steps to a website. It really made me want to walk more. I have been averaging just under 9K a day for the last 2 weeks.
After putting in my weight and height it told me to walk 14K steps a day if I want to lose some weight. I am using free app on my phone for counting my steps
If I do well enough (top 50 participants) I will be sent fitbit as a reward in October Smile

I walk my dog every day and if I add another 50 min at lunchtime I think 14K/day is just about doable.

I found that planning meals is crucial for me. If I am good at not snacking then some days I can stick to 16:8 principle as well. It means eating within 8 hours of first meal and fasting for 16 hours. It supposed to be beneficial to our health in the same way as 5:2 is.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 29/08/2014 08:18

Slightly off topic but you're my friends now... I need to run today. It's the last full day of my holiday and my last chance for a long run before my half marathon next Sunday.
But it's lashing down. I'm not talking a small shower, I'm talking stair rods. And I have to run 11 miles which means almost two hours in said rain.
I know I have to go and I'm sitting here in my kit. But I just can't step out of the caravan. #wimp

Hello. Can I join please?
I'm currently about 11.10 stones and want to lose 2 stone.
I'm just going to eat breakfast late and eat healthily. Snacking is my main issue so I'm going to try to cut that out.
I'm also trying to improve other areas of my life. I'm trying to meal plan and get more organised with housework, do some exercise, work on my hair and skin. I'm hoping I'll be too busy to snack Smile

AddictedtoCrunchies · 29/08/2014 11:06

I did it. 11 miles in 2.02. It was really really tough and sluiced down for the whole time. I'm wetter than an otter's pocket.
Really looking forward to my running becoming easier as I lose some weight.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 29/08/2014 11:07

and I've just taken a photo of myself in sports bra and pants. To help motivate me as it's not a pretty sight.Shock

Can I join too? 2 stone by Christmas would be lovely...

I don't have scales, but was weighed for a drs appointment about a month ago. I later calculated kg into stone and realised I'd tipped over into 13st something (at 5"2).

I tend to be a snacky creature, so have been taking sliced carrots\pepper to work and having salads etc. If anything though, I seem to have put more weight on :(

Still, I now have the 30 day shred dvd looking at me that I will be starting today... Wish me luck!
