...but I don't know what.

I am sick of being on a diet, off a diet, on another diet, off that diet to, ad infinitum.

I desperately need to lose the two stone I put on while pregnant four years ago, but I can't seem to stick to anything. I am currently falling off the slimming world wagon, having previously tried most things out there - WW, low carb in various guises, hypno, cal counting...

Not sure what I hope to gain from posting this. I am just so fed up of it all and so fed up of being fat and needed somewhere to rant.

As you were.

Thanks for the support and book recommendations. I will order from Amazon to see if it helps. Yesterday was a really good day with no snacking, but i need to make permanent changes to really make the difference

Nocarbs · 18/09/2014 18:39

I'm an emotional snacker too, always have been and have yo-yo'ed so much with my weight in my adults years :-(
I'm currently about one stone heavier than my lightest weight and plan to get back there at least.

This week my job has been non-stop and it will be like that every single day. I genuinely now feel hungry and have been enjoying my meals, no snacking at all this week when I get home.
I'm hoping to weigh in soon and be adding my weight loss too.

My long term plan is to be 'good' in the week but that will be very hard at weekends, so initially going to relax the weekends and see....

AddictedtoCrunchies · 19/09/2014 08:06

Skinny jeans went on marginally easier this morning. Smile Carb loading now ready for Sunday.
Have a great day all Brew Thanks

starsinthenight · 19/09/2014 08:26

Good luck with your next 1/2 marathon Addicted!

I took a sneaky weigh-in this morning - 1 1/2 lbs down from tuesday. Am posting it here in black & white so you are all my witnesses so I don't pig out over eat this weekend !!!

Keep motivated everyone - half way through September. I would love to be in the 11's by October.... (12 5 1/2 as of today!)

pixiespride · 19/09/2014 08:28

I'm huge emotional eater and evening snacker too. DC1 is going back to uni tomorrow boo hoo as has been great company over summer. Have been onto Amazon to look at books will order later. Need a strategy not to pig out on Monday.

antarctic · 19/09/2014 13:15

Another emotional eater here. After reading a couple of books on the subject I am much more aware of when/why I'm doing it... just need to actually stop doing it now!!

Good luck Addicted.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 20/09/2014 16:16

Are we all still here?

Struggling with the weekend ... socialising & eating what rest of family are eating. Plus emotions running high in my household (2 v tired DC's) - which sent me to biscuit cupboard. Confess I had one apricot jam tart instead, on basis that if I had 1 biscuit I would have finished the packet ...

Please come back everyone, safety in numbers & all that? I'm finding this tough, and less able to resist as time goes on. I need you!

Managed a nice swim on thurs. Have done some gardening this morning, & tidying up the house. again.

Nice to have you back Mint - hope you had a nice time with your friends.

Addicted - how did your 1/2 marathon go today?

Pixie - hope not too lonesome now DC1 back to uni ... good luck for tomworrow1

AddictedtoCrunchies · 21/09/2014 16:34

Well I did it. Part of me is disappointed because I was aiming for a certain time and I missed it. But I still ran for 13 miles so need to focus on that really. My body hurts now. A lot.
I've eaten lots in the last couple of days, fuelling for today but back on my healthy eating tomorrow Smile

Nocarbs · 21/09/2014 17:35

I can't seem to use the spreadsheet from my mobile.

I was 166lb and now am 163lb

Yay!

Hope to loose at least 1lb per week now I've got my 'mindful' eating under control!

Nocarbs · 21/09/2014 21:49

Managed to get on my laptop and updated, will weigh in again Tues and hope to be the same (if not less ;-) )

starsinthenight · 22/09/2014 08:45

Think I undid all my good work & put back on my 1.5 lb in just one sitting last night. : (

Although I did go out for a swim beforehand.

Addicted - I aspire to wear skinny jeans. My legs are parsnip-shaped !!!

starsinthenight · 22/09/2014 09:02

Right. Re-focus. Liquid day today. Just made vegetable juice (cucumber, celery, carrots, apple & ginger). Butternut squash soup for lunch & dinner. I shall have legs of carrots, not parsnips.

CrumblyMumbly · 22/09/2014 11:21

Love the veggie leg comparisons - mine are maybe courgette shaped - aspiring to french beans!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 22/09/2014 11:41

Definite parsnips here. Aching parsnips actually..

antarctic · 23/09/2014 07:06

1lb off for me this week! I'm pleased because we were staying with friends for the weekend so lots of temptations. Can't do the spreadsheet as I'm on my phone. Good luck everyone weighing in today!

starsinthenight · 23/09/2014 07:06

1.5 lbs down Smile. So now 12 5.5 (was 12 12)

AddictedtoCrunchies · 23/09/2014 07:08

Stayed the same. But disappointing considering the exercise But hey ho Hmm

antarctic · 23/09/2014 07:17

Addicted, I've run a couple of half marathons in the past year and I find it doesn't actually mean weight loss for me. I think it's because the long runs made me so hungry that I ate more than I burned off! Don't feel down - it's still a fantastic achievement!

Well done stars - nearly half a stone!

Justwhateverreally · 23/09/2014 07:27

Love the vegetable legs analogy Grin
Mine feel like aubergines at the moment ... I do have fat calves naturally though. Sigh.

Well done on your run, Addicted! I know it's trite to say so, but doing it is what counts, whatever the time. I simply couldn't do that. Great respect for you, it's a real achievement.

Well no loss for me this week, which is entirely predictable as I did what I often do with weightloss - week 1 fine, week 2 a few wobbles, week 3 the wheels fall off.
Need to re-commit. Am off to stay with friends for a couple of days for a healthy girls' spa day, so that will hopefully give me a kick start. Hope everyone else is doing better than me! Keep at it, everyone ...

Stillstarving · 23/09/2014 10:58

3.5 pounds off, had a wobbly weekend but extra exercise seems to have compensated. My legs are less like vegetables and more like chicken drumsticks. With similar skin texture too.

MillyMollyMandy78 · 23/09/2014 11:47

Stayed the same AGAIN! Didn't actually snack at all, healthy meals etc and lots veg. No idea why - really hoping for a good loss this week! So fed up!

CrumblyMumbly · 23/09/2014 13:20

Another pound of lard off for me! I'm knocking on the 11 stone door where I haven't been for a long time! Well done everyone - we're still here plugging away whatever the result.
