...but I don't know what.

I am sick of being on a diet, off a diet, on another diet, off that diet to, ad infinitum.

I desperately need to lose the two stone I put on while pregnant four years ago, but I can't seem to stick to anything. I am currently falling off the slimming world wagon, having previously tried most things out there - WW, low carb in various guises, hypno, cal counting...

Not sure what I hope to gain from posting this. I am just so fed up of it all and so fed up of being fat and needed somewhere to rant.

As you were.

Well today has been good. I had a small bowl of muesli with milk, tangerine and sandwich plate with ham I had just finished in the slow cooker, small salad with homemade coleslaw and half a pitta. Will have some frozen banana slices and grapes later. My main issue will be eating meals at mealtimes and sitting down and making the time.

starsinthenight · 11/09/2014 22:06

All gone quiet. Hope everyone are OK & spirits are up Smile

AddictedtoCrunchies · 11/09/2014 22:23

I'm here. Read this two or three times a day.
Feeling a bit ropey tonight so early bed for me. Busy weekend coming up and no time to be ill.

RadioMusicola · 11/09/2014 22:27

I'm here too.
Am eating bog all this week as am running round like a blue arsed fly.

Hoping for a half decent loss this week!

Ledkr · 11/09/2014 23:16

Stars, it means I get three months free ww, I won't go to meetings but will use the online tools.
Stil no fat here, had a pretty tasteless risotto tonight bluergh!
I miss cheese.

MillyCariad · 11/09/2014 23:32

Hi everyone, I'm still here too!
Not feeling as disciplined as last week, think I need to have a couple of days of trying a bit harder. I ate an egg mayo baguette yesterday and didn't drink enough water. That is NOT part of the plan. Feeling a little guilty now.

Welcome to the new joiners btw! And ledkr so sorry you're feeling bad, I can't imagine how horrendous it must be to face a life without cheese. Sympathies.

So we know that ledkr's motivation is not to feel ill, and mine is vanity (fitting into my cream LK Bennett dress). Does anyone else want to talk about motivations? I'd be interested Smile

CrumblyMumbly · 12/09/2014 08:44

Morning all! I had a dream about crusty white bread and butter last night - these are my new sexy dreams - oh dear! Have been sticking to plan but things tend to go wrong at weekend. That book sounds good mint. I am the same with sugar rewards and trying really hard not to follow same pattern with my dd. Really hard with older relatives and their 'treats' - they think I'm depriving the poor girl and push sugar even more...sigh.

starsinthenight · 12/09/2014 09:36

Ha ha ha Crumbly - that is hilarious !!!

I can so relate to sugar rewards - in fact food rewards full stop. My DM is utterly obsessed by food. It is her single point of conversation. I was 9 stone at 11 years old .... (yes, I know food probably meant love ...). Like you Crumbly am v aware not to follow the same pattern. DM force-feeds my DC's and is visibly hurt & in a grump if they say "no thank you, I am full". Astonishing. Also spends the whole time meal planning & cooking if DC's go to stay overnight (v long time since I did!), but hardly ever inter-acting with them. Rant over.

Motivations Just?

  • A size 12 Reiss dress last -fitted- worn 2 yrs ago
  • Opening my wardrobe and being able to pull anything out, put it on and know (a) it will fit and (b) I will feel good !!
  • Going out to buy some new really lovely designer jeans (not just my size 32 staples from Gap)
  • Feeling sexy again

Have a great day everyone!

Ledkr · 12/09/2014 09:42

My risotto had prawns garlic spring onions leeks peas herbs and stock.
It was pretty tasteless tbh.
I just had dry toast and marmite and some cereal and skimmed milk Hmm
Did Zumba last night but was the sweatiest person there, I'm always a big sweater tbh but it did make me feel like the fastest unfitest person in the world.

MillyCariad · 12/09/2014 09:48

Morning, my motivation is to feel good in clothes and out of them. To look good in photos and not think "fuck, do I look like that" when I see a photo and then proceed to ask everyone if I really look like that...ha ha ha!Grin

MillyCariad · 12/09/2014 09:52

Ledkr it sounds yummy. You could get five spice and add that, soy sauce, sweet chilli sauce, honey, sweet wine or sherry. Garlic too.

Ledkr · 12/09/2014 09:54

It was bland and tasteless without cream and Parmesan!!

MillyCariad · 12/09/2014 10:00

O, I have never put cream in risotto. Interesting....

antarctic · 12/09/2014 10:04

Agree the risotto sounds yum - sorry it didn't taste as good as it sounds! Crumbly I have a dream about eating cake before, so you are not alone!!

I fell off the Harcombe wagon yesterday, but back on today and feeling good.

Stars, my motivations are:

  • to get back into my size 14 trousers (and then lose a bit more after that)
  • to eat real healthy food and feel good about what I'm eating (rather than processed crap)
  • to be a good influence on my DC's eating habits
  • to weigh less than my DH!!

Keep going everyone Smile

MillyCariad · 12/09/2014 10:04

My risotto has leeks, mushrooms, lots of peppers, apple, celery, peas and spring greens. Chicken fried in soy, honey, five spice and white wine.

MillyCariad · 12/09/2014 10:08

Ledkr low fat food doesn't need to be bland. Herbs, spices and condiments help. Fish sauce, tamarind etc .

Ledkr · 12/09/2014 10:32

I think I rushed it too much.
I normally do chorizo do very flavoursome. I need to take time to get the flavours right.
Going to make a low fat curry tonight. Always very flavoursome.
Having a lovely pj day with dd2 watching peppa pig-her and Scott and bailey-me. Grin

MillyCariad · 12/09/2014 11:02

sounds like a lovely day Ledkr very special. My two babies are grown ups now. One at home and my daughter has recently moved into her own place. Miss her lots but we are spending the afternoon clothes shopping today so looking forward to that.
Chorizo is really fatty. Sad

MillyCariad · 12/09/2014 11:17

Must be hard, for you leaving out all your fave ingredients.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 12/09/2014 15:50

I did a kettle bell class at lunchtime. Holy crap. My bingo wings flapped so much I nearly took off.
Hope I can walk tomorrow as have a match at 11 then swimming training at 5.

MillyCariad · 12/09/2014 17:40

Well done you two. inspiring me now.

Cornholio · 12/09/2014 18:41

Great work everyone! I'm 3lb down now since I started BUT I'm away from home for the next ten days at events/locations that usually mean a lot of unhealthy food and buckets of wine! Help! How do I keep my resolve?
