...but I don't know what.

I am sick of being on a diet, off a diet, on another diet, off that diet to, ad infinitum.

I desperately need to lose the two stone I put on while pregnant four years ago, but I can't seem to stick to anything. I am currently falling off the slimming world wagon, having previously tried most things out there - WW, low carb in various guises, hypno, cal counting...

Not sure what I hope to gain from posting this. I am just so fed up of it all and so fed up of being fat and needed somewhere to rant.

As you were.

I'm 14.3.4 so that's a 3lb loss. Chuffed to bits Grin Grin Mint can you update me please? Thanks

Stillstarving · 09/09/2014 07:50

3.5lbs down this week so very pleased! I'm following WW with adaptations. Suits me because basically anything I want can be accommodated. I find if I have rules like banned foods or no eating between main meals it all goes wrong for me. I'm an emotional eater and that kind of thing seems to drive me to the biscuits- even the ones I don't like! I did try 5.2 at one pout and it really isn't for me. The fast days were fine but I went to excess on the other 5. I think it really is a matter of finding out what suits you. If there was one solution then it would be easy! Alas there's not! For me I need to work on having my head in the right place which is tricky but going ok at the moment. Well done to everybody losing and to anyone who isn't keep plodding on. I'm not suggesting I'm a beacon of hope but I put 2lbs on last week and it's gone now!

Justwhateverreally · 09/09/2014 08:02

I agree Jeni. I was looking for a mutually supportive thread that was not judgemental or prescriptive about actual methods or specifics. It has begun to feel a bit preachy here at times. If I wanted to stick rigidly to a particular diet I would join one of the specific threads...

Anyway..... What I actually came on to say was..... 13 stone 3!!!!!!!!!!! That's 4lb off since last week. Woohoo!!!! Given that I didn't lose anything last week that means I'm averaging 2lb a week which is ideal for me.
I really thought I'd be disappointed today as I relaxed a bit over the weekend (had pasta for dinner on Saturday night as a treat and OHMYGOD the bloating, it was unbelievable) and then I had a posh work lunch yesterday which wasn't ideal either.
So pleased! Hope everyone else has similar good news to report back.

I'm not following any partic regime btw. I'm skipping some meals and having low calorie days, tracking on MFP, and avoiding carbs. Also trying to do 10,000 steps a day and now I've got reasonably near that I'll add in some swimming and gym stuff.
I'm going to try and add one positive change to my lifestyle every couple of weeks, to keep things fresh. This week I think it will be gym/swim.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 09/09/2014 08:22

Well done everyone, amazing losses. I'm buzzing today Wink

cleanmachine · 09/09/2014 08:35

Well done everyone some amazing losses.

1 lb down for me which I'm happy with. Period due any second so I'm sure that's holding me back a bit this week.

I'm not sure if I've missed something but I haven't found any preaching going on. Everyone seems to be doing something different and that's great.

Anyway 5 lb off in total for me so I'm delighted. Not fasting today and feeling poorly so will have scrambled eggs soon with homemade curry for dinner later on. Can't wait. The biggest change in my body seems to be my belly. Fasting gets rid of my bloating.

Justwhateverreally · 09/09/2014 08:45

Yes well done everyone! I make that 20.5lb between us this week so far... Sounds pretty impressive when it's put like that. Flowers

Stillstarving · 09/09/2014 09:15

Justwhatever I'm doing a variation of your positive changes idea too. I took inspiration from the countdown to Christmas thread in style and beauty and I've made a list I try and do most of every day. It's really simple stuff like have a couple of early nights a week, moisturise, that kind of stuff. It's helping the mindset generally of losing weight being something nice I'm doing for myself rather than another way to give myself a hard time. Working at the minute for me anyway!

starsinthenight · 09/09/2014 09:24

Well done everyone on the AMAZING weight loss. All that hard work is so paying off!

But sadly 0.5 on for me. Ss sorry to let the side down. I know I can do it - but my mind has just switched off zone, and something is telling me I can't, & that I'm destined to fail, as always. Sad

Justwhateverreally · 09/09/2014 09:30

That's a good way to think about it, stillstarving Smile - my motivation at the mo is a lovely cream/neutral LK Bennett dress I bought at the start of January, in the expectation that last year's weight loss would continue and I'd be able to get into it by this summer. That didn't happen!
It's a size 14, I can get it on just about but I have a curvy figure and I hate tight fitting dresses so I think I'd need to get down to at least 12 and a half stone before it looks anywhere near good on me.

I have a mental vision of how I'm going to wear it this winter with boots and a military style coat Grin

Stayed the same this week. Mint - can you update the spreadsheet for me please?

Been stressed this week and completely lost focus. Done a lot of comfort eating and eaten a load of crap! Need to re-focus this week

AddictedtoCrunchies · 09/09/2014 10:33

Oh cool!!!!!!!!

sassytheFIRST · 09/09/2014 10:58

No loss for me this week, still 11st8. But have my period so hoping for 2lbs off next week as I have been pretty focused.

Well done to all those who have recorded losses and keep going if you are like me and haven't Smile

cleanmachine · 09/09/2014 11:05

Mint thank you for the spreadsheet and for updating. Keep going everyone.

Stars don't feel bad and no need to apologize. Just think forward to next week and try and visualise being in a nice outfit like Just.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 09/09/2014 12:26

we've just decided to book a sunshine holiday for Feb half term so I've got even more reason to be slim Wink

TalkinPeace · 09/09/2014 12:41

Just popping in to apologise to Jeni and Krakken
it was mention of Holland and Barrett that got my goat.

H&B position themselves in the market as a health food shop, and yet if you actually look at much of what they sell its over processed junk that is coated in palm oil leading to orang utang extinction with loads of hidden sugars and salt and weird chemicals.
Lots of the stuff they sell they only get away with because it has their name on, rather than because its actually good for you.

Simple ingredients prepared well : much more fun for long term healthy eating.

starsinthenight · 09/09/2014 13:02

Just back from a swim - 1st exercise in weeks. 50 lengths (25m pool). Tra la!
I feel good & inspired by all you lovely ladies who worked hard towards the goal, & the lovely positive messages (Just & Clean)
Addicted - sunshine hols sound fab
Mint - thank you for organising us all (again!)

CrumblyMumbly · 09/09/2014 14:02

Hi, a pound and 1/2 off this week. I don't realistically think I will lose 2 stone by Christmas, but I'll get there eventually!

CrumblyMumbly · 09/09/2014 21:03

Where did everyone go - hopefully not the chippy!

TalkinPeace · 09/09/2014 21:15

crumbly
probably down the pub Wink

by the way, weight is not all - as different builds affect "happy" weight
the thing to aim for is to be as lean as you can - so toning will make your clothes fit better even without thescales numbers budging as much

AddictedtoCrunchies · 09/09/2014 21:31

I'm here. Been to circuit training tonight. Pooped.

RadioMusicola · 09/09/2014 21:51
