...but I don't know what.

I am sick of being on a diet, off a diet, on another diet, off that diet to, ad infinitum.

I desperately need to lose the two stone I put on while pregnant four years ago, but I can't seem to stick to anything. I am currently falling off the slimming world wagon, having previously tried most things out there - WW, low carb in various guises, hypno, cal counting...

Not sure what I hope to gain from posting this. I am just so fed up of it all and so fed up of being fat and needed somewhere to rant.

As you were.

Well done Sassy, our first official loss.

Had a god day today, fasted so had just coffee and water til tea time. Just had chicken in sweet chilli sauce, swede roast in olive oil and asparagus fried in butter, all cal counted and only 468 for the day Grin.

Bloody looking forward to eating tomorrow though.

Had to weigh this morning as I am working away tonight. 11st 11lb. I have started a new MFP as the line going up on the progress chart was bothering me as it showed how much weight I had gained.
Good luck with your weigh ins everyone.

antarctic · 01/09/2014 20:54

I started Phase 1 of the Harcombe diet (which I've never tried before) today and it went well.

B - eggs and leftover roast beef
L - home made veg soup
S - grilled chicken and veg
plus herbal tea, water, carrots

Feeling full and content!

AddictedtoCrunchies · 01/09/2014 21:32

Ledkr it was someone trying to sell a juice diet thing. So I reported it. Smile

LePamplemousse · 01/09/2014 21:37

OP have you tried Jason Vale 'Freedom from the Diet Trap'? I highly recommend it.

5.7 lb down - expected high loss on LC'ing
it is much easier this time round when I know what works and what I can eat
I had an amazing fast walk yesterday - 8800 steps in 63 min - fastest for me since starting my challenge.
I got dome energised and my aches went away - maybe that's what we all need - fast walk so you break some sweat and really push yourself for short periods. I don't like running but love walking and having a dog always helps Grin

good luck to the rest of losers on this thread!

kaylacrackers · 02/09/2014 06:43

14st 10lbs this morning which is 2lbs off. Very happy with that. Now I'm back at work it will be much easier to get into the swing of things.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 02/09/2014 06:55

Start weight - 14st 6.2lb. Blush

ShoopShoop · 02/09/2014 07:09

Can't update spreadsheet on my phone, but I'm down 3 pounds to 187. I'll try and update from work later. Well done everyone on the losses so far Smile

HaroldCopter · 02/09/2014 07:12

Hi all, I hope I'm not too late to join in... I've been lurking for the last week and so much of what so many of you has said has rung true.

I'm fed up of feeling fat, wobbly and unfit! My problem is a complete lack of willpower and good old fashioned greed Grin. I eat relatively healthily and mostly home cooked (v rarely have crisps, chocolate, junk food etc) - just too much of it, too much Wine and too little exercise. Reading what people have been posting has made a lightbulb come on in my head, I think and the messages I need to remember are:

  1. I can't carry on as I am not changing anything and somehow hope to lose.
  1. I can't eat the same size portions as my husband who is a) a man, b) has a superhuman metabolism and c) does a lot more exercise than me, and not put weight on!
  1. I don't need to snack, even healthy snacks. You're meant to feel hungry in the run up to a meal! (Thanks TalkinPeace for reinforcing that!).

I'm not going to do a "diet" as such, I don't think, but really be conscious about what I'm eating, try to make better choices and smaller portions, e.g. less pasta and meat, and also do more some exercise - aiming to run 4-5 times per week, starting with 20 mins and building up. I've even bought a treadmill because with a toddler and working long hours the gym is out, at least regularly anyway, and I can always always find an excuse not to run outside!!

So... my stats: 5'6". Last week, Weds I think, I was 12st 6. Started this in earnest yesterday (went for a run at 5.30 am and everything) and I'm 12st 5 today. 2st by Christmas would be amazing, but really just desperate to feel and look lighter, leaner, fitter and stronger!

ChesterDrawers · 02/09/2014 07:50

Well done losers Grin.

I let the side down, I'm afraid and stayed the same this week. A bit disappointed but to be expected really.

Still feeling rough and only slept for two hours last night so will need every ounce of willpower today. Going to employ Talkin's no snacking principles and if I can keep meals pretty healthy then that should be a good day.

Morning all! Congratulations to the losers, great to see some pounds shed already.

No loss for me this week but I expected that, given that I haven't been disciplined enough in the evenings. Thinking positive, this past week has been a good transitional phase to get into the mindset again, start practicing water drinking, low carb and 5:2.
And I can get the belt of my jeans two notches tighter than I could this time last week so some bloat has gone, at least Grin

nutribullet · 02/09/2014 08:05

158 today. That's 3lbs. Have gone hell for leather for 3 days to get that which I cant sustain but good to have some encouraging news to spur me on. Loving this thread. Feeling very up and so positive that this really is IT this time! Thank you all for great advice.

Can't upload on my iPad or am I being v thick? Will try on PC later.

Good Luck to all weigher-inners today. X

antarctic · 02/09/2014 08:13

1lb increase for me this week (I've filled it in on the spreadsheet of amazingness) but that's because I only started yesterday. So I assume I'd have been even heavier if I'd weighed myself yesterday morning! Am hoping for a drop next week.

Well done everyone!

RadioMusicola · 02/09/2014 08:15

Wow, well done all you losers!
Hopefully this will be me this time next week! when I get my blimmin scales back

Stillstarving · 02/09/2014 08:28

12st 12 for me which is 2lbs up on last week but I'm ok with that - it's bloat really I think and I'm just starting properly now. 16 weeks until Christmas according to my wonky maths. 2 stone def achievable.

pixiespride · 02/09/2014 08:34

I have lost a pound too. Not huge but a start in the right direction and I am doing a healthy eating plan as it's for life. I can't upload it on iPad or else I am thick too. May not get to PC today as it's the last day of the school holidays feel a bit sad.x

icanhaveadarksideifyouwantmeto · 02/09/2014 08:54

Can i join too?

I used to weigh 12 stone and thought that was my platau weight, but this school holiday has seen me off!

All my fat clothes dont fit me and i just want to cry with embarrasment and shame. I saw myself in a mirror. i was sitting down and my tummy was like a skirt all around me! I was horrified.

Im a size 20/22 on top....Huge boobs ( 38E)
but a size 14 on the bottom. I can get in size 10 maternity trousers becuase it is just the top half of me that is fat. I look like a candyfloss on a stick!

Problem with me is that.... I have many health issues (probably exacerbated by my weight) but this prevents me from excercising. Im a CM and my bum hardly touches a chair all day long. in fact this summer we have been out every day.... yet i am bigger!

I eat 5 fruit a day, use a small plate, dont snack at all. But i dont have breakfast. I feel sick when i wake up so often the only thing i can face is a cup of tea.

My weaknesses are sugar in my teas. I have two sugars and milk but i drink tea constantly. I can drink tea without sugar, but i dont enjoy it. But i dont enjoy being fat either!

So weigh in today at 76KG. 5 foot 3 inches. I want to lose 2 stone.

first start. tea with one sugar today....tea with no sugar tommorow and if i dont fancy the tea without sugar....then water it is.

Phew... confession really is good for the soul

starsinthenight · 02/09/2014 09:08

3lbs down !!!

ChesterDrawers - thank you for your initial post. Hope you have done OK this week. See what you have done for the rest of us too

MillyMollyMandy78 · 02/09/2014 09:22

Lost 1lb this week, not too bad considering totm and have felt really rotten last few days and given in to my cravings several times over weekend. Also went to chippy last night as felt too ill to cook. Hoping i will be able to focus more this week.

Mint - i can't add it to the spreadsheet. Can you please do it for me? Is it because i am on the ipad? Don't have regular access to any other computer so that might be a problem x

ShoopShoop · 02/09/2014 09:31

Oh Oh!! I'm actually 6 pounds down!! I thought my starting weight was less than it actually was..... Blush but also Grin

I'm at work now but still can't update the Amazing Spreadsheet of Weightloss. So Mint I'm going to have to rely on you to update it for me weekly if that's ok.
