How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

WhatsGoingOnEh · 12/08/2014 23:47

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

My usual

Breakfast- ciggy and coffee

Dinner-diet coke and ciggy

Tea -something healthy instead of t'kids leftovers.

I need to incorporate shitterstea and Epsom salts into my plan.

I might take a leaf out of your book op and look up this Scarsdale stuff.

itsfab delinquent cat sounds fab

coffeeinbed · 30/08/2014 21:37

fab count your blessings.
It could have been a labrador.
They never met a thing they didn't want to eat.

Exercise videos - Tracy Anderson's leg and bums, or just see if you can do any of her Metamorphosis ones. All on YouTube with a bit of searching.
She also has brilliant arm ones. She's annoying but she will get your arms in shape and her leg and bum exercises also will exterminate your muffin top and love handles.

I have some other ones, but will post tomorrow.
It's just that my neighbours had some building work done and I had bloody builders overlooking my exercise living room and I thought as could not subject them to the sight of me doing Tracy's bum series.
Dignified it's not.

I have the 30 day shred, I haven't started it yet though, I don't fly til the 1st October. Plenty of time!Grin

Actually, I might do it now, is it hard? Do I need to put a bra on, or can I do it without?

TheHoundsBitch · 30/08/2014 21:42

Lol at delinquent chicken thief cat!

Cocolepew · 30/08/2014 21:47

Thanks Smile. I have an unopened 30 day shred dvd if anyone wants it.
I loved Billy Banks tae bo, I lost all my baby weight using it and learned how to punch as an added bonus.

Fuckalella · 30/08/2014 21:58

Catthief you definitely feel it the next day! I've got to day 27 (although I started at the end of June Blush) but haven't even looked at it this week. I would definitely recommend a bra & my boobs are tiny!

I've just ordered a JM 3 pack off amazon in preparation for Slimtember Smile

NellVarnish · 30/08/2014 22:04

Oh how I've missed you all! I've been fannying around sampling many, many diets all at once and I swear I've put half a stone ON since my last post.

I'm in for Slimtember too with either Duncan Blue or Dr Scarsdale now my book has arrived, plus I've got two tins of grapefruit and a hundredweight of ShitterTea in my cupboard that needs eating up.

However ...

I've just had a Picnic, a Tunnocks Caramel Wafer and a chocolate chip cookie as I was traumatised by visiting IKEA on a Saturday afternoon.

Wtf was I thinking? I didn't even buy any Daim as I was being good. Might as well have done.

Will there be a Special Slimtember Diet Rebels thread? I may have to name change in honour.

coffeeinbed · 30/08/2014 22:10

Blimey whats!
Only three bin liners?
You did hide some stuff under the bed after all.

WyrdByrd · 30/08/2014 22:13

What's I joined the gym on a GP referral at the end of March. Haven't weighed myself since but was verging on a size 24 Blush and had got to a size 20 and dropped a bra size by the beginning of July, then had a couple of less than brilliant weeks followed by the summer hols when I've not been able to go.

So iirc Confused it's 10-15 brisk walk on the treadmill, 5 minutes cross trainer, 5 minutes rowing machine, 10 minutes bike, 5 minutes on an 'arm cycling' thing, 5 minutes on a different type of cross trainer and a couple of different weights machines for arms, upper back, shoulders & pecs.

I'm 39 in a few weeks and determined not to be such a lard arse by the time I hit 40 - was a size 10-12 back in the day Sad , but depression & under active thyroid buggered things up a bit marrying a chef might have contributed too

Loving the cat and spider stories Grin

Fuckalella · 30/08/2014 22:16

Nell, no one should visit ikea on a Saturday afternoon. It is like the seventh circle of hell. I did go last Friday though, it was coming close to the end of the holidays and in reality, I just wanted to use the crèche for 45mins of peace.

Well done avoiding the Daim, I ended up with a jumbo sized box of oat cookies. Haven't eaten them all yet...

WyrdByrd · 30/08/2014 22:18

I think you can get 30 day shred routines on YouTube.

Coco - good to hear Billy Blanks works. I bought a set of his DVDs years ago and dug them out of the loft still in the cellophane last week!

Cocolepew · 30/08/2014 22:28

Just be prepared not to be able to walk or lift your arms for a few days after Shock

WhatsGoingOnEh · 30/08/2014 23:32

I'd forgotten Tracy Anderson! Thank you! I love this arm video here, which I saw years ago and never forgot. and never did. She does the kind of arm movements that I only ever make in Zara changing rooms when I'm stuck inside a too-small dress.

OP posts:
coffeeinbed · 30/08/2014 23:36

Is there any other kind of Zara dress?
But after Slimtember, I shall be loitering in their changing room and harass the shop assistants to bring me a smaller size!!

WyrdByrd · 30/08/2014 23:43

Coco when I first signed up to the gym after my referral finished I went to a class that was described as a mixture of yoga, tai chi & pilates.

"That'll be nice & gentle and relaxing," I thought.

WRONG! Couldn't raise my arms more than about 45 degrees for 3 days afterwards.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 30/08/2014 23:54

When we go to bed tonight or tomorrow night, we should all do a visualisation exercise. To prepare us for Slimtember. We should pick an event/place where we know we'll be in 30 days (it could be a big flash do, or a regular place like the school-run, or even just in bed with our DPs) and picture ourselves feeling and looking SKINNY AND TONED there. We need to imagine everything: the ache in our muscles from exercise, the flatness of our empty stomachs, the glow in our cheeks, the dizziness we get when we stand up suddenly. We need to see what we're wearing, how much thinner we feel, how other people are complimenting us on looking GORGEOUS.

I read something on motivation (I think it was Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting) where the author said that achievement comes from FEELING THE EMOTIONS OF SUCCESS. So we should do this! And do it every night to distract us from our growling stomachs and rolling guts.

foxinthebox · 31/08/2014 07:16

Happy to visualise the new me rather than visualise all us lot chomping on eggs.

Will weigh in tomorrow too. It will be Slimtember Diet Day and my weigh ins will be hopefull DDay-19lbs etc rather than DDay+5lbs. With any luck.

CatThiefKeith · 31/08/2014 07:21

Yay! Slimtember is almost here! Smile

Weighing in at 11.6. 37-31-37

I am visualising myself getting on that plane at 10.6, and slipping gracefully into my original wedding dress without getting sweaty from trying to do the Zip up.Smile

Souper · 31/08/2014 08:05

Hello guys.

My weigh in this morning after being without my scales for a week (and staying with my feeder mother!) was 12st11. Only gained a pound so feeling very relieved.

I would like to check my measurements before we start Slimtember but I have a thick question. When I measure my waist, I measure around the slimmest part, yes? But do I relax my abdominal muscles and let it all hang out, so to speak?

Itsfab · 31/08/2014 08:16

Sadcoffeeinbed. I really want a Labrador. I have told DH I will not be on my death bed without owning a dog. He has not bought me one yet Hmm Delinquent Cat has not been home yet.

Still weigh the same. Probably because I am not eating right. No idea of calorie in take total. Maybe that is why Hmm.

I did the shred for about 2 weeks. I lost nothing but my dignity when my skirt fell down and I flashed my pants.

CatThiefKeith · 31/08/2014 08:25

It'sfab I have a Labrador. Smile She's fab with children, but has a tendency to sit in my lap because she still thinks she's a puppy.

Download my fitness pal if you can, it's great for tracking calories, nutrition and exercise. And it's free.Smile

CatThiefKeith · 31/08/2014 08:27

Souper, bend to the side, this will show you where your natural waist is (at the crease)

Then stand up straight, but don't breathe in, and measure.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 31/08/2014 08:46

itsfab maybe wait until the DC leave home before you get a dog! Three kids, a big dog, cats, a DH... You'd kill one of them.

My mum has two dogs and I'd NEVER realised the time, space, exercise and expense that dogs took up, before I lived here. So different to cats. I'd like a dog but WOW they're non-stop.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 31/08/2014 08:48

I'm 10st 8 this morning. Huh? That's 3 or 4 pounds lighter! And I haven't slithered yet. Maybe all the crap in my bedroom was weighing me down.

OP posts:
CatThiefKeith · 31/08/2014 08:53

Whatsgoingoneh I an sooo jealous! I want to be 10.8 so badly. Sad

In other news, you are going to need a new thread before long. What are you going to call it?

I propose Shitember!Grin
