Paul McKenna's 'I Can Make You Thin' Thread #15...The New Beginning!

Welcome to thread #15 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.

Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.

Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things!

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is there? We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! :)

O thank you Peirot Please do watch it. Sleepwhenidie posted it on a thread earlier. It made fe feel sad for all the years that eating food has controlled my life x

Steala · 24/11/2014 11:44

Wow! I have just left the last bite of a chocolate bar. It felt silly to leave just one bite. I thought I might as well finish it. Then i realised i didn't particularly want it and i was eating it for the sake of it. So I decided this was an opportunity to take control - that I was controlling the amount I ate, rather than the manufacturer who determined the bar size. Baby steps!

Millli · 24/11/2014 12:24

Brilliant breakthrough Steala. Have you had a look at the link posted above. Really puts it in perspective and that diets are a waste of time because you only end up back where you started.

PoirotsMoustache · 24/11/2014 13:05

Well done, Steala!

hippyfly · 24/11/2014 18:17

That was good Millli - couldn't get the picture for some reason but listened to it all. I've haven't listened to the cd again since I've been ill - I suppose if I'm honest I'm putting it off - got back into the habit of overeating and I have gained a pound so must get back into it - will re-read the book again as well. A very strange thing happened in thorntons today though - they were giving away free chocolates and my mum and I had one - mum went back for another and I actually didn't want one - still can't get over it lol - how's everyone else doing?

Millli · 24/11/2014 19:13

Im doing ok hippy. I actually don't like Thorntons chocolate. DH bought me a big box the other day for our Anniversary. I had half of one and then said he could have them (nicely of course). He tried one and didn't like them either so we put them on the bird table. Since eating like this I don't eat much chocolate unless it is Galaxy, Lindt or Green and Blacks Sea Salt. I don't like shop bought cakes either and now bake my own. I guess I have got fussy with regards to the tastes I like. I think once you allow yourself to eat whatever food you desire then you eventually become more discerning as to what that is.

Solo · 25/11/2014 00:52

Wow! listen to you lot of positive Paulers!!! well done all!!!

Did you watch the link Solo Its really good and she is a neuroscientist.

IAMFUNNY · 25/11/2014 14:37

Newbie here, Ive just downloaded 'I can make you thin'. Ive just seen that some of you are doing Mindful Eating, I wish Id looked into that first.

However Im willing to try this first!

I find it easy to keep my weight down in the summer. But when it gets colder I just want to eat food and drink wine and cosy up, but it means Im up to a stone heavier.

I figured before I got to that stone (Its approaching fast!) I need to intercept. Ive tried all the diets and they always work but only for as long as Im on them and I get bored. I eat for the sake of eating.

Today is a good example, instead of filling up on good stuff, I ate high calorie, I filling crap so Im now hungry!

Anyway, enough of my tedious waffle, Im beginning the cd tonight. Id like to get down to 9 stone but would be happy at 9.8

No idea what I am at the moment, Im having a stare out with the scales but I know Im 10 stone something. Will weigh tomorrow morning to get a starting point.

Has anyone not lost weight this way? Amazon reviews seemed very promising!

Millli · 25/11/2014 22:40

Hi Iamfunny WELCOME Smile

Mindful eating is what Paul McKenna is all about and I can make you thin is all about so its ok, your on the right track.
I would have to say though that you really really need to read the book/books not just listen to the CD. The CDs are back up hypnotherapy which work well but you do need to understand the whole concept of mindful eating first.

The main thing is:

EAT WHATEVER YOU WANT
EAT ONLY WHEN YOU ARE TRULY HUNGRY
CHEW AND SAVOUR EACH AND EVERY MOUTHFUL
STOP AS SOON AS YOU FEEL SATISFIED AND THAT YOU COULD WALK AWAY.

Its important to have the foods in your house that you love not diet foods nor foods that you deem to be only healthy. You have to make friends with food and see it as just that .......food, not good not bad, just food.
It may take a couple of weeks to adjust or it may work overnight but the aim is to eat like a slim person who has never had any food/diet issues in their life and eats mindfully because that is the way we should eat.

Hope that helps.

you can get I can make you thin book second hand for 2.80 on amazon.

Millli · 25/11/2014 22:42

I know I keep going on about it but if you can Iamfunny have a look at this link by a neuroscientist who has lost 10lb by stopping dieting and mindfully eating. She explains better than me how diets never work and why they don't because of how our brains work.

Millli · 25/11/2014 22:46

To answer your other question.

Yes people do lose weight on this and most of us have on this long running thread which Solo started 3/4 years ago. The only reason people ever put weight back on is when they stop eating mindfully and end up overeating. Smile

right I think I have said enough tonight ha ha........

Solo · 26/11/2014 00:31

Hi Millli no, not yet. I'm flat out at home right now. I will get to it though :)

Hello and welcome Iamfunny :) it's good here; keep visiting and posting.
