Paul McKenna's 'I Can Make You Thin' Thread #15...The New Beginning!

Welcome to thread #15 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.

Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.

Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things!

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is there? We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! :)

TooBigNow · 04/10/2014 18:05

I've just posted on it too.

Milllie · 04/10/2014 18:08

Thanks TooBig. Sorry I seem to be chasing you down ha ha. How are you doing? How is the weight loss?

Solo · 04/10/2014 19:16

I have expressed my opinion too! :)

Hi Millie I gained some on holiday and then lost it again. The last couple of weeks I've put a few pounds back on again.

I need to do the Havening as that really helped me before.

How about you?

Milllie · 04/10/2014 23:29

TooBig I keep losing and regaining the same 3lbs. Need to listen to my cds as I have stopped doing it for awhile which is not going to help me is it.
Smile

TooBigNow · 05/10/2014 00:07

I also need to listen to the "Listen While You Eat" track while I eat to remind me to slow down and savour instead of eating too fast.

hippyfly · 05/10/2014 15:02

Hi everyone, thanks to Millie for leading me to this group. I tried Paul Mckenna 'I can make you thin' a few years ago but didn't really stick with it. Have dug my book and cd out again after one too many failed attempts at weight watchers. When you read the book it makes so much sense - I was looking for people who had actually been successful long term with Paul McKenna to try and spur me on a bit. Can anyone help please :)

Milllie · 05/10/2014 18:14

Welcome hippy. Hope the thread will help you. Have a read through some of the thread. x

LollipopViolet · 05/10/2014 20:12

Hello all :) After a fabulous introduction to NLP by a lovely lady who helped me overcome my pre-skating-competition nerves, I'm exploring to see if it can help me shift 3 or 4 stone.

I've got the I Can Make You Thin app on my iPhone - I'm on Day 3 and so far I've left some of my dinner on all 3 days. I'm starting to feel full. I had a blip yesterday in that I had quite an unhealthy food day, but that's alright, I've got back on track today.

I like the aversion therapy - McDonald's Double Sausage & Egg McMuffin doesn't seem quite as appealing now, after imagining eating one full of hair from the floor of the local hairdressers...

Solo · 05/10/2014 23:48

:) Welcome hippy and LV; time for a new start eh?! it does work, so join in and become the losers you really want to be!!

I've had a crap day for food today. Am starting again right now!! :)

Well done guns! May I ask how long it has taken you please? Feel free to tell me it's none of my business!

Welcome hippy and Lollipop. I was going to wish you good luck, but really I should wish you willpower and determination.

I've still not read the book or listened to the cd - I've been so busy! But I have decided to be more mindful about what I eat from today onwards. I have so far resisted the cake that has been brought in to raise money for breast cancer. Although I'm starting to get a little peckish, so might have a small slice now and have my lunch later than usual, i.e. when I'm hungry for it, not when the clock says!

Will go and put a message on the link now.

Fubsy · 06/10/2014 19:12

Gastric Band is an app now! Has anyone tried it?

LollipopViolet · 06/10/2014 22:08

I fell asleep during the hypnotic last night (I have the I Can Make You Thin app on my phone).

That's never happened before when I've used relaxation apps Confused

Solo · 07/10/2014 00:21

Don't worry LV it'll still ho in! :)

OP posts:
Solo · 07/10/2014 00:37

It might even go in!!!

OP posts:
gunsandbanjos · 07/10/2014 18:24

Sorry poirot not been on for a few days, been at it about 8 weeks now - I lose track!

Its not flying off but I'm happy enough, I feel it's sustainable.

Started at 12st 3 and now 11st 5.

LollipopViolet · 07/10/2014 20:51

I managed to stay awake last night :)

Something weird happened - I had a lovely Subway lunch, and then later, after work I went for coffee & cake as I sometimes too often do. Picked a lovely looking cake and... hardly ate any of it. It wasn't that nice. I normally love cake! Left some of my dinner too!

I'm weighing in tomorrow, will be on Day 5 of the plan then. Combining it (sort of) with Slimming World so will be interesting to see if there have been any results this early in the process. I've lost almost 2 stone with SW but "stuck" at this point for almost a year :(

Panad · 10/10/2014 12:17

That's brilliant Guns. Eating as you want when your hungry and still losing weight, you couldn't ask for anything more could you :)

Solo · 13/10/2014 14:58

Oooh! we've gone quiet!! :)

How are you all doing after the weekend? I have the flu, but feel a lot better than yesterday.

Not sure about my weight; need to weigh in.
