Paul McKenna's 'I Can Make You Thin' Thread #15...The New Beginning!

Welcome to thread #15 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.

Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.

Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things!

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is there? We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! :)

????????woo, I've now officially lost a stone :-) so happy.

As of this morning I am 11st 3.6lbs which I know is still heifer sized as I'm only 5ft 1 but it's better than 8 weeks ago.

Only 4 lbs until I'm back in the 10 stone range which is my next mini target. I like setting mini targets, I find them very motivating.

I want to have lost 4lbs by 5th November when I'm at a conference. That's doable right?

How's everyone else getting on?

gunsandbanjos · 14/10/2014 07:12

Aww, my smileys didn't show on my post.

Panad · 14/10/2014 07:50

How you feeling today Solo and Guns? Well done on the weight loss " Guns*, that's brilliant. Have followed your method and set a mini goal Grin

gunsandbanjos · 14/10/2014 08:22

Feeling much better thanks.

Just looked at calendar and my conference is 3 weeks tomorrow so 4lb loss should be achievable I think.

Panad · 14/10/2014 08:57

Yes it is achievable Smile but don't put pressure on yourself. Just keep eating " this way" without too much agenda.

Solo · 14/10/2014 12:38

Well done! well done!! Grin that's great guns and the 4lbs in 3 weeks is very doable :)

Panad I am coughing away here :( and earlier on I put on my glasses (only for reading) and they steamed up on my face Hmm. I took my temperature which I never do, but was curious because of the steam! and it read 35.7C. So, my body temp is under the 'norm' but I'm so hot I steam my glasses up?! weird!! HmmConfused thanks for asking.

I've been maintaining my weight loss with a couple of occasions where I've gained a few lbs, but lost them again within a few days, but I get the feeling that I'm about to start losing a few more. No idea why, but I feel it!

How's everyone else? Millie, hippyfly, Fubsy, LV? and everyone else too!!

OP posts:
Solo · 14/10/2014 12:40

Panad are you new or a name changer? I don't recognise you? :)

OP posts:
Panad · 14/10/2014 12:53

Name changer Solo Grin

gunsandbanjos · 14/10/2014 17:10

Thanks guys Thanks getting started with the weightless is very motivating.
Hope you feel better soon Solo, I hate being ill, it makes me very grumpy!!

Solo · 15/10/2014 00:57

So who are you then?!

My dinner is still downstairs. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't eat it! Shock

Still coughing, but no longer flu like. Thank you!!

OP posts:
gunsandbanjos · 15/10/2014 07:10

Morning fellow losers!

Glad you're a little better solo, the flu can be nasty.

Off for another busy day at work. Want to be 10 again like my daughter who is off to her friends to play and have a sleepover!

TeamScotland · 15/10/2014 15:25

I know this is the Paul McKenna thread, but is anyone doing the EasyLoss version?

Panad · 15/10/2014 18:08

Ermmmm, Whats the EasyLoss version please Team? Smile

Panad · 15/10/2014 18:11

We eat more or less following the 4 rules ( if you can call them rules).
Eat when hungry
Eat whatever you want
Eat consciously and savour and chew each mouthful
Stop as soon as you feel satisfied

Some of us do his gastric band cd which we find very good for making you feel fuller quicker but still using the 4 rules. The main thing is relearning how to eat like a person who is slim with no "diet" issues.

TeamScotland · 15/10/2014 21:36

They sound very similar. EasyLoss Virtual Gastric Band is an app you can get with hypnosis sessions. Some people stick with the first session and never have 'surgery' and manage to lose. There's a FB support group also.

I did PMcK back when it first came out (book & cd).

Panad · 15/10/2014 21:54

Most on this thread just do the eating mindfully though, not the hypnotic band.
So from what you have said you can eat whatever you want with the Easyloss programme too?

Panad · 15/10/2014 22:06

Just looked it up. Yes it does sound the same. It all stems from something started in the early nineties I think. I read the book Overcoming Overeating then which was about stopping dieting and start having all the foods you love in your kitchen. Diets don't work and giving yourself permission after all those years of disordered eating to actually eat what you want was liberating for me.

TeamScotland · 15/10/2014 22:31

They say "eat whatever you want, not whatever you can".

I've taken a screenshot of the guidelines

Solo · 16/10/2014 00:54

So what are you saying TE? :)

OP posts:
Panad · 16/10/2014 07:39

I thought I did say eat whatever you want Grin

Panad · 16/10/2014 07:40

How you feeling "Solo* Smile

Solo · 16/10/2014 11:17

Coughing away P coughing away :( but ok thanks! I reckon you're our Millie?

I am hoping for a continuation in weight loss as all my jeans have suddenly developed holes between the legs, so I'd like to be able to wear the smaller sizes I still have instead of buying new jeans. I feel slimmer. Yesterday my long sleeved top was annoyingly uncomfortable and falling off my shoulder all day! and when I looked at it; it's too big!!! Grin

OP posts:
Panad · 16/10/2014 11:55

hehe!!!

O the cough is usually the last part of the cold but it is so annoying isn't it.
I went browsing in the shops yesterday and was looking at jeans but like you, I have a couple of pairs here at home that are totally wearable if I could just lose 7 lbs more.

Panad · 16/10/2014 12:01

Thanks for putting that up Team. From what I can see on the internet Easyloss is a recent development in the last year or two. There are a lot of gastric band hypnosis apps etc around now.

Do you want to join us? Is that why you have posted? You are welcome if you do want to.
