So a new thread, a new more motivated state of mind.

We will be skinny. No more excuses.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 12/10/2014 21:49

Oh, you provided a link for Exante, off to read and educate myself on my next plan.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/10/2014 10:28

Mmmm, having my breakfast of dry toast. I decided to skip the grilled tomato because it take ages and I'm starving. I only had one coffee this morning because I can't put sugar in them , so I'm going to swing in to the shop and buy some sweetener.

I feel I should be very honest here and put all my stats up so we have a very good idea of how well the diet works. Ok, so here goes

Weight: 14 stone.
Waist: 41 inches.

Oh the shame of writing that down.

My DH wrote down his stats as well so we will know how well we are doing. I feel dreadful that I am so out of shape but I am somewhat relieved that I am doing something about it. I think this diet will be very hard, but if the results are good I can see myself doing it once per month.

Off to boil some eggs for DH's dinner later and weigh some tofu for me, oh the excitement!

SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/10/2014 17:02

Ugh! Made pizza for Ds1's dinner. So tempted... But I won't. I can't fault on the first day.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/10/2014 17:03

Fail not fault.

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 13/10/2014 19:45

Well done Sol. I'm nearly through day 1 too. Just trying to get this baby to sleep then I can have my last 'meal'.
Might be brave and post my stats too.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/10/2014 20:26

Oh Green how is it going? What are the meals like? You should post your stats, it's quite nice to know that they will be there to compare and contrast at the end of this 7 day battle of wills between my appetite and my desire to be thin.

Day one was fine here. I had dry toast for brekky, fruit for lunch, scrambled tofu and a small salad for dinner. Just had my portion of grapefruit which was so sour I nearly cried, but that wasn't the diets fault. And you know what? I feel fine. I'm not hungry, I'm learning to drown out the voice in my head telling me sabotage it all and I'm having a cup of tea and putting my feet up.

Dh on the other hand looked murderous when he realised ALL of his dinner was salad with 2 boiled eggs, he's desperate for his steak tomorrow night. I have just roasted him a chicken breast with parsley and garlic to have with a tomato and basil salad for his lunch. He's being really supportive so I won't be too cheesed off if he slips off the plan later in the week.

Really hoping there will be a reduction on the scales tomorrow, but I know it will probably take a good 3 days before I start to see anything big. It's called ketosis I think, when you burn the glycogen stored in your liver and then start on the fat in your body, it can take a little while depending on how much glycogen is in your liver.

I was telling my Mum about the diet today and she trotted out the old line "But you'll pile it back on when you start eating normally again". I had to be very calm and point out that I'm hoping to learn new ways to eat as the old ones clearly weren't doing me any favours. Has anyone got any witty comebacks to this line, I feel I'm going to be hearing it a few times.

Well done ladies. How;s day 1 been Green? How are you finding Duncan Sol :)

I haven't got a tape measure.
But my weight on Saturday was 12 stone 1 (which is half a stone heavier than when I started dieting!) Blush I am aiming for 9 stone 13 (I am between a 10-12 at this weight). so 30lbs to lose.
I am seriously thinking about getting the 2 week starter pack.... Will see how the Saturday weigh in goes!

BeyondTheSea · 13/10/2014 20:48

So today I had
Yogurt and granola - 6 points
I had a mid morning snack as I was out of the office and I was feeling really hungry - Bellevita biscuits (I think they are 4 ww points)
Lunch - feta salad (6 points)
Dinner - chicken stir fry (6 points max)

Had a hot chic light (2 points)
So am just within points!

BeyondTheSea · 13/10/2014 20:50

Sol - you quite right - we are changing, am sure of it. Keep going my lovely! I will be so interested to see how your diet goes this week.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 13/10/2014 21:06

That meal plan sounds delish Beyond. How many points do you have per day?

You weigh the same as my first goal weight, the second is 10 stone. I think we can all do 30 lbs, not necessarily by Christmas but we will be well on our way by then.

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 13/10/2014 21:21

I think I can have 27, Tiny only really has a comfort feed at night time. What do you think?

Greenrabbit · 13/10/2014 21:24

You"ve both had really good days then? Your menu sounds yummy Beyond, yours not so much Sol. I couldn't stomach the tofu and my husband would never agree to do a diet like that with me.

I've survived day 1. Didn't eat this morning, just had 2 black decaf coffees and lots of water. Lunch was a red bean chilli, it was interesting. Not inedible, but not enjoyable either. It's also given me terrible wind Blush.

I had a 'hot cross bun' bar for dinner and I've just had a chocolate shake. The bar was okay, the shake was nice. I had some carrot sticks too, mainly to stop me investigating the fridge. I'll try not to do that tomorrow.

Exante puts you into Ketosis too Sol. I'm hoping it will be soon.

Now onto my weight. I'm really embarrassed to admit this, but maybe it's the first step to a thinner me. This morning I was 15st 7 lb. So i've put 7 lb on in the last few weeks. I started the year at 15st 10lb. I'm only a couple of pounds away from what I was after giving birth. i've put the same 10-12lb on and off all year.
My waist is 39".
At the start of the year my plan was to get to 12stone by December. Ideally I would like to be 10stone, but I'm comfortable at 12 so that is my first goal.

Hope tomorrow is another good day for you both.

Greenrabbit · 13/10/2014 21:26

Oh we all have the same goal weight!

Greenrabbit · 13/10/2014 21:34

I would keep your points at 27 Beyond, but if you don't feel well on it have some extra protein. Maybe some extra milk or yogurt?

I'm jealous of your one night feed. DD2 is terrible at the moment. She won't go to sleep without a feed and has vomited twice tonight because I put her down in the cot when she was awake. I don't know what to do.

BeyondTheSea · 13/10/2014 21:42

Well done Green on day 1. Oh Tiny is up at least 10 times in the night for cuddles..... and spends most of the time co-sleeping. I am resigned to it...!
So no advice from me but it does get better? Little was the same but now he sleeps pretty well most nights (He'3 and a half).

Are you weighing in tomorrow?
Also have you any codes for the exante site? The 30% won't work for me now (just in case I decide to order!).

Don't be embarrassed. We've all know where we are now, and I think we can do it! I was 11.8 in July, so cross with myself that I have got to lose the same 8lbs again...

BeyondTheSea · 13/10/2014 21:43

Green you can easily be in the 14's for Christmas - will be a great feeling?

Greenrabbit · 13/10/2014 21:54

We are co-sleepers too. I just try to make her start the night in the cot! At least I'm not the only one. DD1 is a good sleeper and co-slept, but she was never as stubborn as DD2. Never mind, I'm sure she'll grow out of it one day. She was sleeping quite well before we went away.

I'll probably weigh myself every day. I'm hoping it will come off quickly so I'll keep motivated. It's not the tastiest of plans. I have been researching online and found some Exante diaries on another site. People have had really good losses so I'm hopeful.

The code I had seems to not be working anymore, but I'll let you know if another comes up. There is 13% off today, but I've checked my emails and they seem to have had at least 20% off very week.
They have an offer on some of the 6 week packs (50% off) but it's probably better to try a 2 week pack first?

Greenrabbit · 13/10/2014 21:55

Yeah the 14's will be my goal. Then I can wear some of my nice dresses again.

Greenrabbit · 13/10/2014 21:59

I signed up for the emails about 6 weeks ago and there's been some sort of offer every day. I'll keep checking for you.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/10/2014 10:49

Was your chilli a bit bland Green? Can you add herbs and spices? They're carb free and have no sugar or anything. How many calories are you on per day? I like the idea of having a months worth of food delivered, it takes the thinking and meal planning out of it all.

As for non-sleeping babies, I have one of those too. And he's not breastfed, he's just a monkey. He has woken on the hour every hour every night for the last few weeks, and his day starts at 5.30am (so does mine). It's exhausting. I don't think I have any advice except for going to bed early and knowing that they will grow out of it soon.

I weighed myself this morning after having my breakfast, I had to eat before my shower because I was starving, and I've lost 2lbs! It could really be 3lbs, I was really full of food, so I'll have to see what tomorrow brings.

I had tofu and grapefruit for breakfast and I have quorn and tomatoes with garlic and basil for lunch. Then tofu with salad for dinner. I'm not suffering from a huge lack of energy (DS2 is in charge of keeping me exhausted) and I'm not starving. I mean I am hungry but I am kind of used to it from low-carbing last week.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/10/2014 10:51

Ooooh just realised I've lost 6 lbs in 6 days. That is a first.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Lets stay focused. We will be skinny!

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 14/10/2014 19:27

Wow that's amazing - well done Sol.
lets keep going....
How was day 2 Green?

I have just had one of those days. Tiny has a cough and seems to vomit pretty much everything once a day during a coughing episode. It's now day 7 - I always get really stressed about food intake (although she is normally good). She's had a bf and gone to bed. She's fine when not coughing so I need to get it into perspective and hopefully she will be better soon. But she always slipped and banged her head on a cupboard door in the kitchen, the floor was wet as I was cleaning up the vomit and I had taken her out of the highchair as that was too. She was fine within a minute and I think it sounded worse than it was (I was a mental mum and tested it out on my head!!)
Grrr - despite all this, on the whole have been good and will be within points!
Little seems to have made the day without incident so far. We went to his dance class (so I probably worked off a few calories there too).

Just sold my buggy on ebay (my 1st sale!). Kicking myself though as someone offered me £200 to end the sale but I kept it going and then only got £170. I'm pretty clueless re the whole ebay thing.

I am having salt and pepper chicken with roast veg tonight.

Greenrabbit · 14/10/2014 20:16

That's brilliant progress Sol. That must be very motivating, how was the rest of the day?
I did add chilli flakes to the chilli so the flavour wasn't too bad. It was mainly the texture, I think it's because of the soya. I had a spaghetti Bol today for lunch and that was similar. Had a strawberry shake which was nice. Had some celery sticks too, just for something to crunch! I'm going to have my last 'meal' soon, another bar. So not a bad day so far. It was nice to not have to think about what I was going to eat. If you stick to just the packs it's 600 cal per day. I might have some meat and veg at the weekend. I forgot to weigh myself today, might wait till Friday?

Hope Tiny is okay Beyond. DD2 vomits when she has a cough too, it's awful. She had D and V on holiday and I was worried about her eating as she's only dainty anyway. Once she was better she ate loads, hopefully your DD will be the same. She bangs her head at least 3 times a day too.

Did you get a new buggy? I really want a City Mini baby jogger, I had the double and loved it. But I have 2 other buggies to get rid of (and the double). I should find all the parts out and clean them up. I've never sold anything on Ebay, but DH does quite often.

Enjoy your dinner.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 14/10/2014 20:17

Oh Beyond you poor thing. That sounds like a hell of a time with Tiny. As long as she's drinking she should be ok. Which part of her head did she bang? My friend's DS knocked his head off his stairgate and had an enormous lump, a black eye and a massive bruise on his temple and he was fine. My friend on the other hand was a nervous wreck, it's so worrying when they bang their heads. What dance class does your DS do?

Yay on selling your buggy. Are you ear marking that money for new skinny clothes? How are you finding being back on weight watchers?

Day 2 of James Duncan went well. I was not hungry and I felt really good all day. I was tempted briefly by a packet of biscuits in the press where the teabags are, but I resisted. One thing I have noticed is that my mood is better throughout the day, there's no slumps. I would normally be a grumpy cow by 4pm but the last 2 days I've been fine. Is this down to not having carbs? I've never had this good of a side effect from a diet before, normally I'm cranky and hungry.

My diet today was:
Tofu scramble and grapefruit.
Quorn, tomatoes and basil.
Oven baked tofu (200g) with a garam masala, garlic and tumeric crust.
I was supposed to have a salad but I was too full.

How did you get on today Green?

OP posts:
BeyondTheSea · 14/10/2014 20:24

Well done Green, keep going! I'm really looking forward to you posting you've lost loads!

I think tiny is ok, she fell backwards and the thud sounded so loud. She was full of beans within minutes though. I really worry with any tumble, think I'm a bit irrational... She doesn't seem to have a bump or anything.

Yes, I just got a icandy raspberry (sold my peach on ebay). I have also got a city mini baby jogger, which I used for commuting with Little (couldn't get the icandy up the train step!). I'll be selling it soon I think.

I really want something sweet - will have a large glass of water instead...
