Hi im on day three of sugar free. Have replaced sweetener in porridge with chopped apple and cinnamon. Its this time of night i find hard though, more cos having chocolate is a habit.

Dosey · 08/02/2014 20:38

Hi there just checking I for yesterday and today. I went to a friends last night for wine and a chat. She knows my love of chocolate a bought me a bag a mini eggs. Not wanting to say no I ate about 10 and left the rest. I was very pleased. Today I had one if my mums homemade biscuits because they are so lovely. I must say my cravings for sugar have gone and when I do have some I can tell myself when to stop.

That said I do feel guilty for yesterday and today so I am determined to have a couple of sugar free days. I don't want it sneaking back into my daily diet.

firefly this time on a Saturday night is hard. I find cleaning my teeth and telling myself I have finished eating for the day helps.

karatekimmi · 08/02/2014 21:49

I've been dying, and I mean dying to have a strawberry and lime kopper berg from the fridge, and I'm quite scared how strong the urge is!! I haven't succumbed and am in bed far too lazy to go back downstairs
I'm looking forward to weighing myself tomorrow as I'm feel my clothes are looser.

HearMyRoar · 09/02/2014 12:51

firefly planning is the key I think. If you know there are times when you usually have chocolate or something (mine was Friday night) have a non-sugary treat in stock as a replacement. Make it something that still feels indulgent so you don't feel like you are denying yourself any fun and sit down and really enjoy it. Brie on ryvita, lightly salted crisps, and almonds got me through the first few Fridays. Now they don't bother me as much.

Dosey · 09/02/2014 19:55

Yeah I have managed a no sugar day. Mil bought be a cream cake for pudding but I politely brought it home and its sitting in the fridge waiting for dp to come home from work.

Dds are staying at gps tonight. I spent the afternoon watching 3 men and a baby. I could hear the cram cake calling but I had full fat natural Greek yoghurt and grapes instead. It was still very yummy without the guilt trip

Dosey · 10/02/2014 21:27

Is there anybody there??

Just a little to check in, managed another day without sugar or cravings.

JimmyCorkhill · 11/02/2014 10:08

Snap - I watched 3 Men and a baby too. How bloody dated is that film? I remember going to the cinema to watch 3 Men and a Little Lady Blush

Full fat Greek yog is my saviour, it's even nicer with some double cream poured in.

I've managed to stick to this for almost 3 weeks now but I haven't had many situations which have tested me SOS wise. That will be when I know if I can really do this or not.

Dosey · 11/02/2014 12:44

I am Hoping that 3 men and a little lady is on this Sunday!

I bet after 3 weeks an SOS situation will be fine for you.

orangedog · 11/02/2014 12:54

Hello
I've been sugar free since sept. am really happy with my weight loss. Fell off the wagon big style over Xmas though and since then haven't quite been as strict with myself and have had the odd thing but try not to as it just creates cravings.
Have been eating lots of pistachios, natural yogurt, fresh bread and soda bread etc wine intake as normal ! Have fancied more lager than usual as well ... Perhaps cos its not as sweet. Had a couple if squares of white choc last night but it was do sweet it was sickly.
Please ignore lack of punctuation...on my phone!

I prefer peanut butter

SomewhatSilly · 11/02/2014 17:07

I fell off the wagon big time yesterday and felt really awful for it :(. Good news is that I've been ok today.

I've decided to include some nakd bars and dark choc for a while and see if that helps. I have a tendency towards very black and white thinking which I think leads to big binges, so I'm trying to find some kind of happy medium.

Yes you need to find something you can eat to satisfy the craving.
Cocoa has no sugar in so hot milk with cocoa is fine. The green and blacks stuff is nice.

HearMyRoar · 11/02/2014 19:03

Hello all. Still going here. Have just got a children's party invite for Saturday though so anticipating an sos situation there.

I live the way orange and cocoa Nakd bar. Dd also adores them.

Ooooo...dome random words there courtesy of predictive text...

ProfessorDent · 11/02/2014 21:46

Pret do 2 hard boiled eggs with spinach for about 1.50.

Also, try Zero Yoghurt from Sainsbury's or Tesco, with a 2 fruit tub of strawbs, grapes, blackburries from Tesco, topped with Pret's Naked Nuts for 1, made up of unsalted walnuts and other things. Okay, 4 in all but not bad, it really tastes good and beats the sugar rush.

procrastinatingagain · 11/02/2014 22:07

Hi, can I join in? I don't think I can eat sugary food in a normal way, in fact I know I can't. I feel addicted, and I don't want to be any more. I'm going to stop eating sugar tomorrow and see how it goes. Hope it's ok if I post for support? It's really inspiring to read all your posts. Hope I can get to a point where I can refuse mini eggs too. At the moment I feel like I'm wasting my best years on sugar Hmm

JimmyCorkhill · 11/02/2014 22:16
