Paul McKenna Can Make Us Thin! Thread Number 14 ~ A Simple Title, for Simple Weight Loss and All amongst Friends!!

Welcome to thread 14 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to Freedom From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Hi all, hope everyone has had a good Monday - I have a hectic Monday at work, very short lunch break and straight to pick dd up from school when I finish so although I tried to eat slowly at lunch it wasn't easy as I had to work during it and as well as be somewhere at work straight after it so I was not really relaxed! But don't think I overate as I chose not to have my yogurt pudding as I felt full after my lunch. Yesterday went well and I am generally feeling positive and certainly less bloated even if the choice of foods is a bit different to when on the WW plan...
I have ordered my PM Emotional Eating book and it should come tomorrow - yippee :)
It's interesting reading about people's childhoods and how they shape our relationships with food. I remember I was slim until about the age of my parents being divorced and my mum having to work as a f/t mum so me and my brother became the 'latchkey kids'! I remember eating a lot as it was quite a lonely time for me and then the damage in terms of craving food and being miserable due to my weight was set in I think. Over the years Ihave been down to a size 8/10 and up to a 20 (currently 16/18) and I just want to get a healthy weight and attitude now!

Hi everyone.

Milly this book was written in 1993, and was originally called ' breaking free from compulsive eating'.

Hi Mardy- welcome.

Hi Yipee- you've done well, considering you've just started. At least you are practising being mindful, which is a first step.

Well for me today, I did'nt eat until 12.30pm. Thought I was hungry early this morning, also had a tummy rumble, but i waited and it seemed to wear off. In the end I ate when I felt a bit empty and jittery. So although I would say I was at no 4 on my scale this morning, I think it was probably at no 3 when I decided to finally eat something.

And I had what I had planned to eat, ready brek, 2 small slices of toasted tiger bread with butter, and a coffee latte. Really enjoyed it.

Had tea at 4.30 with DD, as felt at no 4 on my scale. Had egg and beans on toast, with a cupcake for afters.

DD made the cupcakes today. Really tasted it, however it was so sickly sweet, and gooey, that I won't be having cupcakes for a while.

There's 4 left to be demolished. In the past, I would have eaten two in a row.

Mardy how are you?!! really missed you :) welcome back.

Not a great day again today. Need to get shot of all this tempting Christmas stuff ~ not that I bought loads, but I was given a box of Belgian chocolate biscuits, but not just any Belgian chocolate biscuits you understand Wink

Everyone else is sounding really great :) keep up the good work. You may have to pull me up by my bootlaces y'know! but I will get there!

Doc are you joining us? :) I don't have the app either, but over the past threads, I've heard a lot of positive things about it.

Solo you don't need to get rid of the nice stuff...just put it in a box in the cupboard and when you really fancy and are hungry for a delicious Belgium biscuit ( but not just any Belgium biscuit) you can have one. Getting rid of all the Christmas food stuff is not necessary. Smile

Welcome r us mum.

Solo- I normally have 1 or 2 biscuits with my meals if I am still hungry and fancy one. so don't throw them or you might feel deprived when they are not in the house and you fancy one.

I've got loads of biscuits and chocs in the houseSmile Smile

wrong- should have said, when you are hungry and want a biscuit, not when you fancy one.

Yes I am here! Got annoyed with the app as I went to Nec past midnight on day 1 do couldn't do the hypnosis as it had "expired" but did it last night.

Do I really not eat breakfast if I'm not hungry? That feels weird as I am making the boys some.

quote from my book:
' We eat to satisfy emotional as well as physical needs, and unless both are acknowledged and dealt with, we are setting ourselves up to feel deprived and go hunting for more food'.

Hi Doc

yes you really do not eat breakfast unless hungry. you need to get back in touch with your body's natural signals.

If it feels weird, just have a cup of tea with them insteadSmile

Ok, I didn't eat breakfast and I'm still not hungry. Weird.

Nec should have been "bed" above. Autocorrect is baffling sometimes.

Hello hello! Can I join?

I bought the gastric band book a year ago and have ignored it since. Downloaded the new app after the webchat and actually using it. I'm very hopeful this will work - I spend a lot of time mindlessly snacking and eating though I'm not massively overweight (about 10 - 15 kg to drop).

Qq- doing the trance sessions do you need to be on your back or just a comfy position ready for sleep. Also do you continue to count back from 300 as he talks or stop when he stops?

Thanks all!

Fouette Hi and welcome. I just make myself comfy.....be that lying down or sitting. I continue counting down most of the time ad it keeps your conscious mind occupied so your unconscious mind takes in what is being said.Smile

Hello and welcome rusmum and Fouette :) yes, to keeping the count down going, but if you get lost and stop, it doesn't matter. When I was actually listening to my CD's, I always did it in bed and always fell asleep! it does all still go into your mind, so don't think that you can't do it because you don't hear all the CD; you really do :)

Hi fourteen

same here, I usually lie on my bed all comfy to listen. unfortunately, I seem to stop counting in the 270's, as my mind starts to wander, and I think randomly of anything. your subconscious still takes in what is being said.

rusmum- I understand what you mean at not feeling hungry in the morning. It's weird isn't it, especially when we are used to eating breakfast in the morning.

I love breakfast food though, so find I sometimes have it later when hungrySmile

Thanks for the welcome back.
All this talk about choccie biscuits is making me feel hungry.

Have been following the Emotional Eating programme (on day 2), and feel like a right dick doing the Havening DVD. Very sceptical.
And I've been listening to the "eat with Paul" CD from FFEE. Again I feel like a right pillock sitting there waiting for permission to load my fork and chew 20 times. Sometimes, it's one mouthful a minute.
Listened to the CD after Wine last night. Does it work if you're a bit pissed?

Weighed in this morning. I am officially my fattest ever. And that's saying something. I'm clutching at the straws that you don't have to believe in all the parts of the programme for it to work. I get the hypnosis part and that has been useful in the past, but I really don't follow the havening. And it's all a bit boring too - 20 mins of stroking your arms and visualising beaches and stuff. I could be watching Bake Off or MNing.

Rant over. I'm going to do it for 5 days anyway like he says and see what happens. Grin

Oh yes NoGood. I feel a bit of a fraud, rating my petty emotions out of ten and havening them, especially when there are people with major issues to sort out.

Hi All

Well I've been a bit naughty, and ate this evening even though I was'nt at all hungry. Hubby and DD were eating, and I wanted to join in rather than just having a cup of tea. Paying for it though, as feeling bloated and uncomfortably full.

DD has been like a hurricane all afternoon, and still like it at the moment. Thought nursery was supposed to help tire them out. She has even been out for a walk with me.

Hurry up her bedtime!!
