STS again this week

Had a little NSV today. I noticed that my coat is getting easier to fasten and is more comfy. when I bought it in October it was a snug fit and was uncomfortable if I sat down. Very happy as well that am old friend saw me last week and said I am looking skinnierGrin

QuicheDodger · 03/02/2014 18:13

A late weigh-in from last week, but it's a significant one for me so hope you don't mind my posting.

Original weight: 14 st
Last week: 10st 1lb
This week: 9st 13.5lb

So that's my 4 stone loss hit, and I'm finally (just) in the 9 st range - something I haven't seen for probably 15 years.

I want to get to 9 stone, so just over a Bald Eagle to lose still.

MarysDressSways · 04/02/2014 11:34

Yaaaaaay! Well done quiche!

I hope everyone is well.

I did my weigh in this week a day early as I'm not at home tomorrow.

After a hectic hen do weekend with lots of booze and food which I view as a legitimate weekend off... I'm down 2lb this week.

So I've also hit a milestone with 5st lost in total! Wooo! Another 4st to go to hit my target but over half way!

Debs75 · 04/02/2014 21:18

Quichedodger well done on a great achievement
Marys as well.

I've STS again this week, hardly surprising got a few things going wrong at home and that usually means I turn to food. Made a cake for DS's birthday as well and I have eaten most of it. Sticking to it for the rest of the week to avoid a weight gain

MarysDressSways · 05/02/2014 10:41

Staying the same is not a gain though Debs so well done! I hope things improve at home.

I've been craving food the last couple of days. I've just had a satsuma and a load of water to try and stop the pangs! Rock n roll!

Debs75 · 05/02/2014 21:02

I know, I'm not too bothered about STS. I have had a bad week though and been eating to avoid facing up to things.

GertyD · 06/02/2014 07:32

This is a really great way of looking at it. Thanks OP! I have lost an Irish Setter and still have a koala that is proving tough to shift Grin

I understand where Marysdressways is coming from about revealing original weight! I was embarrassed too...I find as I am getting closer to goal that I have getting more comfortable revealing it though. It is like I am talking about someone else.

Iwilldothisnoexcuses · 09/02/2014 17:26

This list has blown my mind! Imagining the weight as objects and not an abstract number makes it seem more real.

MarysDressSways · 10/02/2014 14:55

It's great isn't it.

How's everyone doing this week?

MarysDressSways · 11/02/2014 09:47

A day early again but lost 4lb this week. Woop!

Also, Gerty, I don't think I'm at the stage where I can share how much I've lost yet, someone at work asked me last week and I just said 'a few stone'. Maybe when I reach my target I'll feel more comfortable!

Debs75 · 12/02/2014 09:00

WEIGH-IN DAY

Come on ladies lets start the weigh ins.

I will start with a 5lb gain Sad 4 birthdays equalled a lot of cake. It didn't help that the cake I got for dniece my dsis gave me half to take home. No more cake for me now until April when it is DD1's 18th.

MarysDressSways · 12/02/2014 09:49

Tis but a minor blip debs!

B52s · 12/02/2014 11:06

The arse-end of a guinea pig down for me. This puts me at just under 10 stone, haven't been less than 10 in years.

Well done Marys, and don't worry Debs.

Debs75 · 12/02/2014 19:55

I bloody hope so Marys. I have been calorie counting since Sunday am down to 1500 a day which should see 1lb off next Sunday.

MarysDressSways · 13/02/2014 15:45

Well done! Carbs make the most difference for me, so avoid those for a bit!

I've got a friend's wedding in a couple of weeks and I'm determined to be under 14st for it!

hinkyhonk · 13/02/2014 18:29

Can I join?

I would like to lose between a human head and a bald eagle.

I just seem to be comfort eating at the moment for no discernible reason. I'm not hungry but just am eating stuff because I fancy it and can't stop.

Anyone got any tips for increasing will power? Starting to feel really down about never shifting it.

MarysDressSways · 14/02/2014 12:32

Hey hinky, welcome!

I eat like that sometimes. It's more boredom than anything else I think!

I find that once I've lost some weight, I've got motivation to lose more! That and looking at the nice clothes I'll be able to have when I get to my target!

Debs75 · 16/02/2014 20:25

Hinky I am like that all the time. I find myself wandering into the kitchen and stuffing down food for just no reason. Then some days I do barely eat anything.

I no longer know if I am full after a meal and the feeling of an empty stomach to me means I am starving. I am working on that as I am now just starting to recognise halfway through eating that I am feeling something which could be fullness. I also need to ignore to a point my hungry belly. I know I can go longer without snacking but it seems once I start eating I am always hungry.

My motivation at the moment is that I have recently gone down a size and then put 5lb on so I an trying to get that off. There is no way that I am going to go back to 18-20's again

hinkyhonk · 17/02/2014 10:32

Argh lost my post. I think I don't know when I'm full so just keep on eating and also have no portion size control. Plus I just eat as soon as I feel a bit hungry rather than waiting.

Hmm think I need to reset my stomach. Anyone got any idea how though?!

Debs75 · 18/02/2014 21:18

Hinky that would be a million dollar idea. No expensive gastric surgery, no weekly weigh in clubs, just a simple reset button, I'm sure there is one hiding under a spare tyre somewhereHmm

MarysDressSways · 19/02/2014 11:36

Happy Wednesday!

Weigh in! I'm down 4lb this week.

Slowly getting there. I don't feel much different though, I've still got a big belly area which will be the toughest thing to shift I think (thanks to pcos no doubt)! Fingers crossed it fecks off soon!

How is everyone else doing?

Debs75 · 19/02/2014 20:46

Well done MarySmile

I STS this week which is better than a gain but I was hoping for a loss, even 1lb would of been enough.
Have stuck to it better this week staying at 1500-1600 cals per day so will stay focused for the rest of the week

MarysDressSways · 20/02/2014 11:07

I'd say you'd get a nice loss next week, sometimes it takes a while to kick in.

ReadyForDinner · 20/02/2014 13:57

Hello! A bit slow off the mark but been browsing the thread now and then and feel like I could do with hopping aboard. I have a whole wide screen tv to loose to get to my first big goal. im not thinking beyond that at the minute. I had a gorgeous baby girl in October, though the weight was here long before she was. Started trying to shift it in earnest in January and lost 10lb so far, a couple of guinea pigs a week and thats fine by me. Slow and steady wins the race! Im using mfp if anyone else is and found it really useful. Tactics so far, ditch the snacks, eat minimally in the day and look forward to a good dinner in the evening.

Debs75 · 20/02/2014 19:51

CakeAngryCakeAngryCakeAngry

Why do I have to eat so much?

Me and DD1 made a cake for her friends birthday and I have managed to eat 3 slices plus trimmings and spare buttercream.SadBlush
I can go all day, even two days and be really good and not even notice it then someone mentions bloody cake and you would think I had never been fed!

Sorry if I have put cake into everyones minds I will stop ranting now
