Anybody fancy losing a stone and a half by Easter?

MercuryRising · 27/12/2013 09:30

I have just weighed myself and the results were hideous. I need to start taking some steps to shift some pounds - the first one being moving away from the Christmas chocolates. Does anybody fancy joining me?
It is 16 weeks until Good Friday so losing a stone and a half is very doable. I am a ww monthly pass member but haven't attended meetings regularly or followed the plan properly since the Summer Blush
Please come and motivate me.

tie a ribbon around your waist ....
if it digs in, eat less
if it goes slack, tighten it

Honor Blackman and Diana Rigg have always done that method ...

CRbear · 25/01/2014 10:10

I went for it, 100g, I.e. A laughably small bag of chewy toffee chocolatey things and fudge (I was horrified to think of the calories in my past bags!) was 500 cals well spent. Savoured every piece. I realized that I would only want it more if I denied myself now, and how often will I gave those sort of calories just "hanging around" :)

RufusTheReindeer · 25/01/2014 12:30

Weighed today and another 2lbs down

That is 10lbs off in 3 weeks, I am very chuffed!

I have been very , very good though and my plan was to be slightly less strict in February so I will have to see how that goes!!

Well done to everyone so far

Batbear · 26/01/2014 10:00

Weighed in today - 4 lbs off making 9lbs so far - I'm pleased with that!

Christening dress bought so I need to work on toning my legs!

ToysRLuv · 26/01/2014 13:09

Well done everyone! I'm almost amused by how my scales just will not move, even by 200 g. It is as if the bloody numbers have been painted on. Grin Ah well. Am a it poorly now, so not being hardcore. Have still have stayed at 1600 kcal, or under.

Batbear · 26/01/2014 15:42

Toys how frustrating! Hope you feel better soon

SomethingLovely · 26/01/2014 15:44

Amazing work with the 9 & 10 lb losses! Will weigh in tomorrow am if I remember (after having a wee and before eating breakfast of course)... Barely had a moment to think this week, baby's had a tummy bug and growth spurt so we've had crappy sleep and low energy, don't think I over-ate but hardly know whether I'm coming or going sometimes!

Bakingnovice · 27/01/2014 08:37

1lb off for me this week. So 8lb in total in 3 weeks. I'm happy with that. I've been doing 5:2 or 4:3. It's hard and I miss sugar (which is impossible to give up as its in everything!). Also haven't been good with eating this weekend. Back to fasting today. Anyone else feeling demotivated today?

SuckItAndSee · 27/01/2014 11:43

2lb off this week Smile. i did work really hard Mon-Fri to allow myself a blow-out for DH's birthday. I hope that the same works this week, as I have a works night out, plus dinner out with family for Chinese New Year to contend with Hmm.

Start Weight - 12st 0
Current Weight - 11st 8
Total loss - 6lb

SomethingLovely · 27/01/2014 12:38

1lb here too... Thought it might be a little more but hey, as long as it's downwards it's all good. Not feeling demotivated exactly, but bloody starving! Need to stock up on healthy snacks to fill in the gaps... And get a bit more organized with planning meals for the next few days - I'm so often caught short with nothing in the fridge!

IceBeing · 27/01/2014 13:37

gah - total fail here. No further loss. Still only 5 lbs down for 3 weeks worth of fighting.

I am really gutted as I had a horrible week (DD and DH both ill and DM showing signs her cancer is progressing again) but I really didn't cave. I tried so hard.

Very very difficult today not to jack it all in.

Congrats to all of you realising some weight loss though! It does give me some serious motivation to stay on the wagon!

Start: 10st 8
Current: 10 st 3
Loss: 5 lbs

ToysRLuv · 27/01/2014 17:41

Sorry to hear that IceBeing! Sad

Be kind to yourself.

Batbear · 27/01/2014 18:30

Icebeing sorry you are having a hard time. Hope you are wrong about DM and the others are better soon.

Also well done for staying on the wagon -I don't know if I'd have managed

CRbear · 27/01/2014 19:29

Oh icebeing what a horrendous week! i think you should pat yourself on the back for staying on the wagon in such circumstances.

2lbs down here, weirdly nothing this am but i was compelled to weigh again after work and low and behold, 2 off!

Teaat3Ten · 27/01/2014 19:38

Another 1lb down here, keep telling myself slow and steady wins the race!

Sorry you are having a tough time Icebeing, take care of yourself.

Bakingnovice · 27/01/2014 20:15

Ah sorry to hear about your mum Ice.

This losing weight business is a bitch. I'm sat here feeling miserable, hungry, headachy and tired. Must start exercising to lift my mood. Keep going everyone.

IceBeing · 27/01/2014 21:41

exercising is definitely good...I went out to badminton in a total funk but am now feeling, if not positive..then at least nowhere near as negative!

Thank you for all the kind wishes! I am sure people on here are facing worse - so lets all be kind to ourselves.

MegBusset · 29/01/2014 12:18

Well my two weeks of having my period then being ill (plus a couple of big meals out) have put me right back where I started, in fact today I was a lb heavier than when I started Blush

So I am back to the beginning but hopefully will do better this time!

Start weight: 9st 8lb (oops)
Target weight: 9st

IceBeing · 29/01/2014 12:22

being ill should really really help with the weight loss...so why the feck doesn't it (I also put on a few pounds after a week of flu).

MegBusset · 29/01/2014 13:36

In my case it's because when I have a cold, I get ravenously hungry for carbs!

ToysRLuv · 29/01/2014 14:27

When I am ill, which I have been (a bit) for the last week, I get my mum's voice in my head saying: "Don't diet or exercise when you're ill, you need the calories and energy to get better". For what it's worth, I don't usually overeat when ill, either.. just don't have the appetite.

Have been doing reasonably well, yet no movement on scales (71.7 kg morning and bloody night, every bloody day Grin ). Can now do a 1 and a half minute plank and then collapse in a heap

LilyJoAndMe · 29/01/2014 18:33

Hello to all - Losers, Stay-the-samers and Gainers alike.
Ok down one pound since last week's weigh in here. That makes me 71,5 kilos or 11 stone 4. So , Toys we're weight loss twins right now. Smile
Keep on Toys and I'm sure the scales'll start heading downwards soon. Last week I put on before coming down a bit. Slowly but steadily eh .Grin

RufusTheReindeer · 29/01/2014 21:15

I am having a bad food week, not compared to my old way of eating but I'm not looking forward to the scales this week

And I'm off to nandos tomorrow, and ASK on Saturday!!!!! Bugger

SuckItAndSee · 29/01/2014 21:21

rufus, I'm out to dinner on both Fri and Sun
although I'm not on 5:2, I am going to try a bit of a fast on Thurs and Sat if I can manage it, in order to compensate for the inevitable Fat-Fests to follow.

RufusTheReindeer · 29/01/2014 22:24

suckitandsee

Ballsed up my fasts this week, I think I ended up with about 1000 on Monday, 800 on Tuesday and 520 today

Wasn't planning on eating til dinner tomorrow and I've been on the Nandos website to check my calories

Torn between chips and halloumi burger and cheescake for dessert (which I could share if I had to....or not have at all) at 1479 calories

Or ratatouille with mash and cheese cake at 943, but will I feel cheated as the rats and mash are something I could do at home..

Plus beer, or should I have the one glass of wine

Decisions, decisions
