Anyone got more than 10 stones to loose?

I have read through the threads and it seems that most have only a few stones to loose. I know every weight loss is good in it's own right but I have more than 10 stones to loose and I seem like the only one.

Well good for you Pipper for doing something about it - must seem like a daunting task but you will get lots of support on mumsnet.

I have about 3 stone to lose btw. Willow2 and I have set up our own slimmers world unofficial group and are starting on Monday!

Good luck to you.

Kittypickle · 29/02/2004 12:31

I don't have more than 10 to lose but do have a fair bit more than CountessDracula. I'm on my 8th week of WW and have lost a stone (WW was snowed off last week so I didn't get weighed, but am sure I lost the 1.5lbs I needed for my stone). I'm now concentrating on the next stone - I want to have lost it by the end of April. If you look at the WW site they have different boards depending on how much you've got to lose and there are quite a few people who have 10+ to lose. Good luck, join us on the Slim Mamas thread, you don't need to say what your weight is, just how much you lose each week, weigh in day is Thursday.

keep finding out that everything I try is actually not the best way can't afford WWatchers or SWorld nor the time keep trying to walk but no time. Like now I'm doing the housework at the same time but house is still messy 2 mins later. Life is a drag but hey I'm alive diet and trying again tomorrow diet. sorry

Kittypickle · 29/02/2004 14:24

Click123, there are lots of people doing both WW and SW and if you want to do one of them but don't have what you need, I'm sure between everyone we can get you going. I know it's really depressing, but the worst bit it getting started - I do feel so much better now I have and I have Beccarollover to thank for that, thanks Becca What about setting a very small target over quite a long time to get you going pressure ? My WW leader says not to try to change everything at once, so what about for this week doing something like trying to add 2 portions of fruit and veg more than you would normally eat ?

champs · 29/02/2004 22:07

hi all, thanks for the support. I feel really low alot of the time and hate the way I look and feel.....
Imagine knowing you have to loose more than 1/2 your body weight!
That means I am the weight of two normal people.... No wonder I look a mess.

Kitty-- well done!! a stone in 8 weeks, wow, you must be very glad, I hope I do as well as you.
Rae and Click-- We can be support for each other if you would like, I know I need all the help I can get. I feel that it will take at least a year and a 1/2 maybe 2 years till I reach my goal weight it kind of depresses me a bit cos i will have to be dieting for sooooo long.

capecod · 29/02/2004 22:12

Champs - I have the same amount to loose as you. Have tried all diets and know how stressful it is. It seems like a big mountain to climb. If you like e-mail me and we can support each other - I know what you are going through. zx x

Well count me in as one of the REALLY big mamas. The only times I've ever been able to lose weight was when I was sick or pregnant. Even in my frighteningly fit phases, training twice a day 6 days a week, I was still a size 18.

CountessDracula · 01/03/2004 10:33

champs there was a woman in this week's Slimming World magazine who had lost 19 stones!

champs · 01/03/2004 18:04

CD-- yes, I saw it..... gave me alot of inspiration and motivation... proves it can be done

Zoe · 01/03/2004 18:13

I could lose six or seven stone without disappearing, that's for sure. I am in a slow and steady regime, which seems to be working. In ten years time, I should be about the right weight !

fio2 · 01/03/2004 18:18

good luck champs I have lost 2 stones on weightwatchers but my clothes are starting to pinch and I am dreading getting back on the scales! I need to get to 10ish stone I think but I am nearer 12 now.

please stick with it, you will feel better but it is so hard isnt it? I dont even know how I look anymore and dont care most the time (eek!) ww is quite easy though....

champs · 01/03/2004 18:39

lol Zoe, it seems like that doesn't it
fio2-- I only have head height mirror over sink and face mirrors, I refuse to have full lentgh!! I only know wat I look like if I GLIMPSE at a shop window..... lets hope i dont leave house wiv skirt tucked in knickers lol

SecondhandRose · 01/03/2004 19:20

If anyone has access to cable TV, watch Dietbusters, on Discovery Health. It's on at 6.30pm every evening (on Sky it's channel 196).

It is such an inspiring programme, I tape it every day and watch to give me a boost.

You can do it, I have just started week 3 and lost 7lb so far.

Twink · 01/03/2004 21:26

The latest Rosemary Conley mag has a lady who lost 10 stone, very inspiring story and she keeps the weight off.

clairabelle · 01/03/2004 22:26

I'm with the big mamas, have had some ups and downs lately after starting SW. Have had lots of lovely support though from MN in general and paticularly Kittypickle and Beccarollover Now feeling loads better and ready to roll again this thread has reinspired me. Champs please feel free to contact me, as i know how you feel. Lots of support is essential

champs · 02/03/2004 19:09

I weigh myself tomorow... I dont think I've lost any weight...I cheated a bit, I hate myself for cheating, after all i only cheat myself.
Oh well, I will try extra hard and make up for it next weigh in

twink-- Wow, i must have a look at that... i do enjoy reading about all the weight loss stories but the ones with alot of weight really mean alot to me.
Clairabelle-- thank you very much, and i'm glad you have some motivation now.

champs · 03/03/2004 19:00

hi all... well I take it all back... I lost 5lb!!

Kittypickle · 03/03/2004 19:19

Congratulations Champs, you're on the way, nearly half a stone gone

CountessDracula · 03/03/2004 19:49

Champs well done, you are nearly 1/20th of the way there, you should be proud of yourself!
