Anyone got more than 10 stones to loose?

Pipper · 29/02/2004 00:44

I have read through the threads and it seems that most have only a few stones to loose. I know every weight loss is good in it's own right but I have more than 10 stones to loose and I seem like the only one.

Champs, dont hate yourself for cheating - you have done brilliantly. Give yourself a pat on the back.

Twink · 03/03/2004 21:51

Excellent champ, that's a great start !

If you or any of the contributers to this thread want to email me, please feel free. Although I've not lost a huge amount in one hit I have been a yo-yo dieter and lost the same 3 stone around 3 times but have 'maintained' now for around 2.5 years.

I'm not a diet/drug rep or anything like that just a mum who has managed to sort out a healthy eating/life balance that I can live with and if I can help anyone else to do the same that would be great.

champs · 03/03/2004 21:59

thank you, i am trying harder now, i have a few special occasions coming up to aim for.

SHIREENSMOM · 06/03/2004 01:22

ive got 5 stone to lose but i dont have the will power

champs · 06/03/2004 18:32

hi shireensmum-- why not start by aiming to loose a stone or 1/2 stone at a time, thats what I have to do because thinking of the whole amount overwealms me and makes me want to cry.
Feel free to post here because we all want to support each other.

lost one measly pound...... oh well 6 in 2 weeks is not too bad I suppose. Off diet for today... felt really down..... Back on it tommorow tho

CountessDracula · 10/03/2004 23:14

6 in 2 weeks brilliant! If you keep that up for 6 months that's 78lbs! Or 5 and a half stone - more than half way there.

(says the crappy vampire who has guzzled the best part of a bottle of wine and a choccy bar tonight )

CD.... thanx!!! I dont know where my enthusiasm has gone?! I feel drab, down, FFFAAATTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!! OH right now i really hate myself. Am sooooo fat like a hippo. I know I have to loose weight and that I need to eat less etc etc, It just upsets me sometimes. I am following SW but I feel a little low while doing it, not sure if is because i am B/F and not sleeping to well. I have been told by hosp to take things easy..... does that include dieting? I dont want to stop dieting.... I need to.

Will stop moaning now....

Rae1973 · 13/03/2004 09:03

Hiya Champs

I know what you mean about losing your enthusiasm.

I am starting a sponsored slim on Monday to try and give me some motivation for losing weight.

Only thing is alot of people have asked if I am having a time limit and that is one thing I am not doing as I feel that it can cause more stress in the long run.

juliejoo · 13/03/2004 14:12

Thank God for this thread- I had 5 stones to lose, and I felt like all the other mums everywhere just pinged right back into shape and into their jeans! Even at my post-natal exercise class I feel depressingly like the biggest person there- I wouldn't even believe some of those women had kids, if they didn't have them with them!! This is the biggest I've ever been, but I'm 10 weeks pp and have lost almost 2 stone- willpower, walking and breastfeeding, nothing else, but it is hard sometimes. Nice to know I'm not alone

champs · 13/03/2004 15:38

rae-- what a good idea, sure it will urge you on.

julie--well done... 2 stones in 10 weeks is brill, keep it up!!!

champs · 14/03/2004 22:40

hi all, have had a horrible day again..... why cant i do this?

collision · 14/03/2004 22:48

Champs.......you can do it but it has to start with your head!! I am a huge advocate of WW and lost a lot of weight with it after ds. IMHO you have to psyche your brain and ask why you are eating what you are eating and why you are stuffing yourself!! (That is what I had to do daily.....not you.) Dont think I am patronising because I had 'failed' so many times and made excuses and then I got a grip and told DH that I had had enough and he helped me a lot by counting points. I have done SW too but couldnt get full on red days and stuffed myself on green days and ate a lot of processed rubbish. I found it didnt help ME with portion control and I really stuffed myself! If you like it though then go for it......a lot of MNs are dieting here so there is a lot of support. Aim for a slow weight loss and it will stay off for longer. How much do you have to lose?

juliejoo · 15/03/2004 18:22

hey champs!

Don't worry about one horrible day- we all have them!! As long as you put it behind you the next day and don't let it deter you! In the great scheme of things its the overall weeks that count anyway (or that's what I try to tell myself after a bad day!) You sound like the weight is coming off anyway, so don't beat yourself up!

champs · 15/03/2004 19:23

collison---- what are you doing in my head I have come to the conclusion that SW is not for me.... and i decided with help of DH to go for WW. SW is ok if you live on your own or have time to cook all the time, dont get me wrong... I am glad I was on SW first because it stopped me from eating and craving alot of rubbish and removed my need to comfort eat.... And helped me loose weight.

Julie-- thank you!! BTW how is your sponsor slim going, was it today you start or was it last week?

collision · 15/03/2004 19:30

WW is fab! How did you do today? Tell me what you ate and I will work out your points!! I am very sad!!

champs · 15/03/2004 19:43

lol.....
BREAKFAST
muller light yogurt(toffee)
LUNCH
M&S count on us english ham salad sandwich
1mini hot cross bun
1can 7up tropical splash (no diet drink available!!)

collision · 15/03/2004 19:49

You are well within yr points! How does that work for SW?

champs · 16/03/2004 14:56

i changed over to ww!! that meal plan couldnt work in SW!!! it was the first time in 3wks that i've had a sandwich!!! mmmm bread

juliejoo · 16/03/2004 15:06

I don't think I could do any of the slimming club stuff- too frightened of being weighed in public and too time-deprived! I must admit, I just count calories. One of my best mates recently lost about 5 stone on the Atkins diet, but I can't live without carbs, and I don't think it very good for you if you are breastfeeding. She looks fab though, and I am really jealous!

champs · 16/03/2004 21:35

julie---- I dont go to the groups i am too ashamed/shy/scared to go!! I have been doing the SW programme by myself with the help of wonderful MN slimmers and the magazine. I was gonna buy the postal pack or online subscription. but wanted to give it a go first..... I was glad i didnt now as it isnt for me, so i will now go with WW by doing the same. If it works for me then maybe I'll get the at home pack or online sub.

PS.... Of course it was Rae who was doing the sponsor slim and not you Julie....oooopps

Kittypickle · 17/03/2004 09:38

Hi Champs ! I hope WW is going OK for you, I'm finding it much easier than SW. I've been ill so I'm not sure how I'm doing. Collision, it's great to hear WW worked so well for you

My WW tip is 0 point omelettes: dry fry 0 point veg, onions, mushrooms, peppers or whatever you fancy. Whisk up 3 egg whites and pour over the veg. Ruffle it up with a fork for a bit then let the bottom set. Put the pan under the grill to set the top. Cut into quarters, remove from pan and eat ! I have it with tomato salad (chopped up tomatoes, onions and fat free vinagrette) and the whole plate is 0 points. Add in a point free soup and some sugar free jelly for pudding and there's a point free 3 course meal (not an exciting one admittedly!) for a chocolate fix I freeze a low cal choc mousse (1.5 points), lasts for ages.

champs · 17/03/2004 16:48

hi kitty!!! and thanx for the great tip... i love omlettes!!! wow, a whole 2 course meal for no points!!!
as for sugar free jelly, i remember an old trick.... make the jelly up with the stated amount of hot water, and add a chilled can of diet lemonade(or diet fizzy drink of choice)instead of cold water. Set as usual and enjoy lovely sparkling jelly!!!

I must admit.... I feel much better on WW (hope I haven't spoken too soon)

champs · 22/03/2004 19:35

GRRRRrrrrr!!!! I am ashamed to say I have well and trully messed up.... for the past 2weeks I have been so down that I have not been keeping to my diet I haven't been pigging out per say but haven't been following the diet either. I thought that i should join the online WW thingy...as if I pay money i will have to stick to it!! I went to join up but it has denied me because I breastfeed..... do you think it is bad to lie and say no?! It cant do that much harm if I just add the allocated points for breastfeeding can it?!

How is everyone else doing? motivation is needed...Please.

champs · 24/03/2004 14:56
