Everyone geared up for another good week? Nothing like some good losses to gee everyone up ...

I was just wondering what you all look like after imagining sue in the 'miss jones' getup. It is funny but you build up a picture in your head of people.

I imagine suejonez with auburn hair worn up, glasses and wearing wide leg linen typre trousers and a nice tunic top. I think she wears make up too.

I , for some reason, imagine that WWB is slightly hippyish in style and has wavy fairish hair. I think she likes hand made jewelerry.

I have seen pics of hub2dee! He has a very beautiful dd!

I think Jackie has dark, shiny shair and brown eyes and wears neutral colours and nice boots.

Coppertop - well I imagine red hair!

Is that really weird or do you all picture people on here?

schneebly · 22/06/2006 14:18

I dont have 12 tins to put in a bag - we grow our own lentils you know! Only kidding, have put all the tesco value beans and tinned tomatoes in a bag and bloody hell!!!

hub2dee · 22/06/2006 14:19

Did you have at least 12 ? Darn heavy, my friend !!!!!!!!

Wear it around your neck for a moment, LOL.

hub2dee · 22/06/2006 14:20

Well, a few tins and some other heavy stuff... yellow pages ? LOL

schneebly · 22/06/2006 21:01

Well...was I right on any of my descriptions or was I way off? You probably all think I am really weird now.

alittlebitshy · 22/06/2006 21:03

oh pants did my email go to the wrong place?? i sent it last night.......

alittlebitshy · 22/06/2006 21:10

wow - that is scary thinking of it like that. I keep thinking of every 2 pounds as a bag of sugar and that seems so much more than just the words "2 pounds". does that make sense?

On the other hand i decided to go wild tomorrow night. dh and i are going to have an indian takeaway. I haven't had any blow outs really so just fancy something to .... be...... nice to myself in a donlt look at what's in in for just one night kind of way .....

i fear that if i don;t treat myself with this something i REALLY want i might go mad on the snacks.

JackieNo · 22/06/2006 21:19

Schneebly - yes to the brown hair (well, grey underneath the dye, but always been brown apart from that), and brown eyes. I do now have one pair of really nice boots, from Duo, but they're quite high heeled, so I don't wear them much. My enormous calves stopped me being able to buy knee length boots until I discovered Duo. I think I imagine you to be blonde, quite tall and graceful.

suejonez · 22/06/2006 23:30

Schneebly - thats exactly what I look like though you didn't mention the face which I like to think of as Ingrid Bergman-esque

suejonez · 22/06/2006 23:30

whats Duo - can they cope with MY calves?

suejonez · 22/06/2006 23:37

Hey WWB - are nominated as a scary person - I'm so jealous, I want to be scary too. here

JackieNo · 23/06/2006 07:07

Duo boots (and now some shoes too) - they do boots in different calf fittings. Not cheap, but they are lovely. I've never been able to find any boots to fit my calves before, but these do. Although because I'm short-ish, I needed to buy a pair that was officially mid-calf, or they flapped around my knees a bit! Well worth investigating.

schneebly · 23/06/2006 07:55

littlebitshy - you do need a treat sometimes - DH and I have been eating out once a week and still losing weight - we just have one course though and make it a good 'un!

Sue - lol, that is weird! Yes, Ingrid Bergman - that fits!

Jackie - weird again and I am, indeed a blonde although not partic tall - only 5ft 5. Weird about the graceful thing - I don't feel very graceful but I have a double barelled first name which means 'pure grace' Can you guess my name now?

JackieNo · 23/06/2006 10:17

Perhaps we should rename ourselves the BigPsychicMoFos. Sorry Schneebly - not good on name meanings, so can't guess your name, I don't think, but weird coincidence, eh!. Might have to look it up somewhere .

WigWamBam · 23/06/2006 10:31

Well, I know your name from your email addy, schneebly, so no point me guessing My hair is sadly not blonde and curly (although my dd's is), it's mousy and scruffy and a bit nondescript. I don't really do jewellery but if I did it would be either hand-made or ethnic. A bit of a hippy ... yes, you could say that ... it was the stone hugging that gave me away, wasn't it

Sue, I saw that thread ... can't believe that anyone would think I'm scary (although maybe they saw the nude calendar photos I posted here once ... those were probably quite scary ) Apparently my posts have a "don't f*ck with me" quality to them ... PMSL, I'm softer than a very soft thing, me.

OP posts:
schneebly · 23/06/2006 10:32

and still in at some of these accuracies!

schneebly · 23/06/2006 10:33

aaah - wwb it may have been the stone hugging!

WigWamBam · 23/06/2006 10:36

There's only one or two other things that you could have picked up the hippyish tendencies from but they're best not mentioned in polite company

OP posts:
JackieNo · 23/06/2006 10:37

Do we count as 'polite company' then WWB? I'm flattered.

dublindee · 23/06/2006 10:44

Schneebly you're not alone I tend to have mental pictures of everyone too!

WigWamBam · 23/06/2006 10:45

Well ... I was trying to be nice ... hmmm, perhaps you're right though

OP posts:
MrsJohnCusack · 23/06/2006 10:52

shit I have to rejoin this thread properly
have put on 5 pounds - this is not acceptable!

help me please. How to not give into the idea that I can eat chocolate biscuits and pizza when I like because I'm (barely) pregnant and the thought of vegetables makes me barf?

what if the pregnancy goes away and I've pigged out? then I'll be even more depressed. Coming off antidepressants too because of pregnancy so what with that and the hormones I think I'm going crazy.

WigWamBam · 23/06/2006 11:02

Oh, Arfy ... it's hard, isn't it.

I guess the only thing you can do is think about how hard it's going to be to shift extra weight caused by pigging out on biscuits and pizza, as well as shifting the ordinary baby weight that goes on when you're pregnant. Plus think about how uncomfortable extra weight is going to feel when you're already feeling heavy and uncomfortable with carrying the baby.

I lost weight when I was pregnant, partly because I had gestational diabetes and had to watch what I ate, and partly because I wanted to do the right thing for the baby - I wanted to eat properly for her sake rather than mine. Do you think that might give you a reason to watch what you're eating?

With regard to vegetables making you barf, what about fruit? There's some lovely summer fruit in the shops at the moment, gorgeous cherries and peaches, the strawberries are just coming in, there will be raspberries coming in soon - could you eat stacks of fruit instead of veg and biscuits?

OP posts:
MrsJohnCusack · 23/06/2006 11:41

Thanks WWB
I'm going to try the fruit thing. And to be honest think quite a lot of those 5 pounds is bloat as well as I haven't been that piggy overall. Also have been doing a LOT of walking. more than usual.
I know exactly what you mean about eating well for the baby, that's what I keep trying to think about. Also DD was 9 lbs 14 and I would rather not have an even bigger one this time.
That's if I get that far, have had a tiny bit of spotting today (well, one spot) and feeling quite doomladen about the whole thing. Why I ever thought today would be a good day to check my weight I don't know!

I think today is just a Jonah day, as Anne of Green Gables would say. Don't want to put a downer on the thread either, everyone else is doing so well

WigWamBam · 23/06/2006 11:45

Oh, don't worry about putting a downer on the thread; we're here for support no matter what's going on. We've got broad shoulders, we can stand it

Sorry you're not feeling too chipper, and to hear about the spotting as well. I have my fingers crossed that everything's OK - hopefully it's nothing.

Are you able to try and put your feet up a bit today and be nice to yourself? Sounds like you could do with a bit of TLC.
