Hi all!! (waves!)

Cant believe our last thread filled up so quickly!

For those of you who don't know us, the 'Avoid the Quiche' Quiche is a group of people who all want to lose a substantial amount of weight (no coming on here complaining about the half a stone you desperately need to lose, thanks very much!) We all have different personal goals and reasons for wanting to lose weight, whether it be for a special holiday coming up, to aid fertility or to be healthier. This thread is a place to share your highs and lows, talk to like minded people, get encouragement and offer support to others when they need it!

Official weigh in day is Wednesday- Slimmer of the week will get a virtual bunch of flowers, woohoo!! Flowers

I personally am aiming to lose 6 stone. It wont be easy but i've got a great bunch of ladies behind me keeping me focused and for that i'm very grateful! Smile

Sylvana - hope the long walk helped.

In view of the unseasonably mild weather, and the fact that MIL is here and therefore we are awash with custard creams, I am going to go for a run in a minute to try and repair some of the damage done this weekend.

3 days till weigh-in. Sneaky mid-week weigh has hardened my resolve - I WILL break that 200lb barrier this week.

MiaWallace · 22/09/2013 17:49

Good luck cq I'm currently at 202lb so looking to break that 200lb barrier soon. Don't think it's going to be this week though. Will be happy to STS considering how much I've eaten this weekend.

Lorelai · 22/09/2013 17:53

Scotch eggs made and the look AMAZING! I think I may be making this a regular feature in my diet :)

Haven't been too bad today, but we did have a BBQ at church today; I only had veggie burgers and sausages (no buns), and a bit of salad, but the burgers/sausages weren't the ones that are free on SW so I have used some Syns, just not sure how many (probably a lot!!). Lasagne for dinner tonight, which I have managed to do with free foods/my daily allowance, so will see what it is like.

Reastie · 22/09/2013 18:51

Hi all

lore do they taste as good as they look?

I had a back massage on Friday and had such a knotted back it felt bruised all over all Saturday Shock so no exercise. Today I did a cardio workout gently and made homemade pea soup for dinner and tofu veg stir fry for lunch, so good day today (so far!). Hope I can keep it up as only 3 lbs till I'm classed as healthy BMI.

cq you WILL get through the barrier

IsThatTrue · 22/09/2013 18:56

Good luck cq and mia for getting through that 200lb barrier. Another step on your way to being happy and healthy!

Well I managed a 5 mile run earlier and now feel great, but starving. Trying to curb it until dinner time with water, fx it works.

Lorelai · 22/09/2013 19:30

Haven't tried them yet! They are in the fridge for snack attacks during the week.

Debs75 · 22/09/2013 19:46

Thanks LayMizzRarb I needed that.
Had WI in this morning and stayed the same so I am feeling pretty good, it does mean that we will be postponing the trip to Pizza Hut a while. If I had put on again I was going to have a big blow out and stuff the lb's. Instead I am planning the weeks meals and working out how to satisfy my hunger with something low points yet stay awake mid afternoon. Last week I almost fell asleep in class!

Lorelai at WW the Linda McCartney stuff is pretty high points wise, a lot of vegetarian stuff is. WW sausages are really nice though

LayMizzRarb · 22/09/2013 20:29

Debs I like the WW sausages too. I grill them, then slice them and stir into a tin of 0 pts tomatoes for a really filling breakfast.

Lorelai · 22/09/2013 21:05

SW seems to care more about calories than fat and these particular sausages are only about 65 calories each, and free on SW. Even normal before sausages are only 1.5 Syns, veggie burgers are 1. Allowed up to 15 per day so not bad really.

I lost half a pound at wi yesterday. It was all clothing weight as I had worn my lightest summer dress (yes I really did weigh my clothes before deciding on a dress Blush) because I had fallen off the wagon a bit this week and thought I would have put on. It was dp's birthday so we had a nice meal of his choice (a chinese) and then birthday cake afterwards.

I am now wearing smaller jeans Grin. I hadn't worn jeans all summer and when I put them on yesterday (after wi in my ridiculously summery dress) they kept falling down. These are allegedly the same size but are real cheapies from ASDA and the 2 "identical" pairs of size 18 jeans were far from identically sized, one used to fit really well so were probably more like a size 20 truthfully, the other pair could barely go past my thighs, let alone do up, so closer to a 16 I think. I'm now wearing the small ones that I couldn't get on. They are a little snugger than I would like but they do up and are not obscene to wear out in public.

Sylvana · 22/09/2013 21:43

Thanks Sirzy. I did as you suggested. I was on a crazy diet, I couldn't last on it any longer and my body was telling me i needed proper food. I have ditched the silly diet and am focusing on smaller portions, lots of exercise and low carbing.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 22/09/2013 22:31

Hi everyone. Lovely day today, my parents came up for the day and we had a lovely 5-course Sunday lunch spread over 6 hours Grin

Not sure what the food plan is for tomorrow, maybe toad in the hole with the left over yorkshire pudding batter.

Well done on the jeans Summer that is a fab nsv!

cq and Mia, here's hoping you get through the 200lb barrier this week. And hello to the new people.

Yesterday was the baby's birthday and the first ever meeting of the grandparents (our parents). It went well I think - no major cringe moments (that I witnessed, anyway). I distracted myself beforehand with lots of cooking and made a ridiculous buffet. I expected to have a complete diet blowout myself but when it came to it I found I got full really quickly, which never would have happened in the olden days. While I am sure I still went at least twice over my normal calorie allowance for the day, probably more including some champagne, it definitely could have been worse. Afterwards there was so much left - half a whole salmon, a big chunk of cold chicken and ham hock pie, chorizo bread, 20 brownies, huge amount of the elaborate birthday cake AND MORE. So I texted some local friends and got them to come and take away most of the leftovers, especially the bread and cake, so there's only enough of the bad stuff for DP. I did it quickly before I could change my mind and I am glad I did as the baby got me up at 4.20 today and I would have been very tempted by a brownie for breakfast!

Wedding dress shopping today. One shop I am going to has two dresses that I really want to try on but the samples are in a size 12 Sad. Steeling myself for the horror and embarrassment of squeezing my just-short-of-200lb-frame into those Blush

Hope everyone has a good couple of days before weigh day, with the weekend safely behind us

MiaWallace · 23/09/2013 06:26

Birding your buffet sounds amazing. I don't think I would have had the willpower to give away such yummy food. Well done.

Have fun Wedding dress shopping today. When is the wedding?

IsaacCox · 23/09/2013 06:34

Well done Summer :)

Welcome new people Grin

I hope you enjoy today Birding and that you find the dress you love :)

I'm starting again today. Going to track everything and come on here if you don't mind when/if I crave something bad! I'm going to be out most of the day anyway so should be ok as I find if I'm busy and or out of the house, I'm okish at resisting food.

Have a great day all and here's to a fab new week!

BirdingWidow · 23/09/2013 06:44

Mia we kept the cold salmon for a nice salad Grin.

Wedding is in May next year. Scary bridal shop woman tells me I am 'cutting it fine' with dress shopping. Seriously Hmm

LegoAcupuncture · 23/09/2013 07:58

Ladies, please get in line and give me a slap.

Have spent the weekend eating, all because Dh's brother was visiting so took it as a green light to eat and drink.

I've had my comeuppance though and have been up most of the night with severe IBS flare up, first time in years.

No going to weigh myself as I know it will be a disappointment.

So please, let me have it.

HenriettaPye · 23/09/2013 08:14

Lego don't be too hard on yourself, we ALL go off the rails at times! Start afresh today- it's a new week, put a line under your bad weekend and move on. You are in this for the long haul, this weekend was just a blip! Weigh in with us on Wednesday, see the damage done (if any) and move on Smile

copied this from a slimming world page- found it very interesting...

Might your weakness be biscuits that can dissapear in no time with a nice cuppa?

A pack of digestives contains 36 biscuits at 4 syns each. That = 144 syns! what an eye opener!

So lets put that into perspective- what else could you have, but probably wouldnt dream of eating in one sitting...

14 pints of lager-140 syns
28 portions of chicken in blackbean sauce- 140 syns
36 bags of fench fries crisps-144 syns
9 mc donalds cheeseburgers-135 syns
9 fish in batter from the chip shop- 135 syns
11 and a half chicken biryanis - 144 syns
14 pieces of kfc chicken breast - 135 syns
4 and a half bottles of wine- 135 syns
14 crunchie bars- 135 syns
15 creme eggs - 135 syns
15 cornettos- 135 syns
28 slices hovis seed sensations bread - 142 syns
57 cheese flavour mugshots - 142 syns
636g sweet popcorn- 140 syns

thats food for thought!

Lorelai · 23/09/2013 09:31

Wow, Henrietta, that's incredible!!! I knew they were bad, but that really takes the biscuit (sorry!!).

LegoAcupuncture · 23/09/2013 09:33

Thanks Hen.

How many points do you get a week/day on SW?

HenriettaPye · 23/09/2013 09:51

You are allowed up to 15 syns a day iirc, but we were always told to try and stick to 8/9.

I've never actually ate a full packet of digestives in one go, however I have ate half a packet of the chocolate covered ones, so that's probably about the same syns as a full pack of plain ones! Blush
