Apples it's not bad if it fits into your weekly calories :)

Applesnotcakes · 25/10/2013 12:17

I like your thinking - i just have to make sure i dont drink my weekly deficit of calories at the weekends. SOME wine, not vats of wine and all should be well.

anotetofollowso · 25/10/2013 15:38

Thanks Buzzy, can't wait to try that aubergine recipe. And thanks too for giving me the correct name of the dish - couldn't quite get it.

1st Friday weigh-in was 70.6 kg's (155.6 pounds), 2nd hop onto the scale produced a weight of 70kg (154.3 pounds). So I opted for the lower one, which in theory means I have lost .02 of a kg (0.4 of a pound). But I cant help feeling I'm cheating a little. Still, I'm recording that lower weight because I can see that I look a little smaller and my clothes feel a little looser - I do think I am slowly coming down.

I am in awe of you fasters. I don't think I could do it, but then I never thought I could get this far, so who knows what the future holds.

Well done on the loss Bsshh - what an achievement to lose that amount of weight. It's inspiring to read about it.

I'm not quite sure I got it right either anote - it might be parmigiana... oh well, it's lush whatever it is. You stick it all in the oven after you've put the cheese on and bake till it goes brown. While I remember, if you put some capers or fennel seeds in the sauce, that makes it even nicer Smile

Another bust diet day! Never mind. Will get my mojo back soon...

Applesnotcakes · 26/10/2013 10:17

Morning Chiefs,

Finally after wingeing on here I can report some signs of success.

I've been trying to lose weight for a year now. In July I had lost 2 stone and was 14.3. In September that had gone up to 14.9

2 weeks ago I got back down to 14.3 then had a few nights of heavy Randalling, did my back in and it crept up again.

This morning I am 14.0.4. And yesterday was actually a bit lower but wont count that as Saturday is weigh day.

It feels like I've finally broken through and next week I can hit the 13s which will be seriously exciting ( sadly)

And after a week abstaining from Jillian I shredded this morning. Interestingly the week off didn't seem to have affected my ability with the cardio stuff, such as it is, but I did feel weaker on the strength things. Shows you have to keep it up I suppose - especially when we're talking such low levels of fitness

Anyway feeling good. Chiefly influence has clearly been a good thing. Have work to do so am going for long walk to install myself in coffee shop. For some reason I hate working at home.

Happy weekend whatever you're all up to.

BsshBossh · 26/10/2013 17:16

Apples well done! I couldn't exercise at all last week and this week I won't be able to either. I admit I'm nervous about it - I always lose strength after a break. But it's life I guess.

Had a KFC at a Welcome Break motorway place en route to MIL's. It was okay - hadn't had it in years and probably won't bother again. Entire meal around 1200 calories DH said yet didn't fill me up at all like a similarly calorie dense meal at Wahaca (good Mexican food) or homemade. Just goes to show how much good nutrition contributes to feeling full.

Another thing I noticed (and this is quite embarrassing because it makes me feel quite judgmental and smug - not nice really) is how much I notice weight. The majority of people in the food forecourt were quite overweight. I never noticed this before when I was overweight myself. I was definitely in the minority today (never notice it as much in London). I need to watch myself - smugness and being judgmental are not nice or fair...

MonkeyGoneToHeaven · 26/10/2013 18:16

Well done on the break through Apples! And well done on the shredding. I find that exercise makes me heavier temporarily - I think it's my muscles repairing and holding on to water. This makes me not want to exercise which I know is utterly stupid. Maybe I shall shred tomorrow.

I hit the 12s this morning which is a boost, but I am so pissed off with myself for getting in this situation where just under 13 stone is an achievement that I feel that I do not deserve to be happy about it.

Bssh I agree with you about the non-fillingness of junk food. I think they do it on purpose - if it was filling they might sell less of it. It's natural to notice weight when you're working so hard on your own so don't feel bad about it. We are conditioned not to 'judge' these days (especially on Mumsnet!) but the social consequences were partly why people were thinner 40 years ago.

MonkeyGoneToHeaven · 26/10/2013 18:37

Oh, that was a miserable post, sorry! I am just in a bad mood as I am going to a party later that neither DH nor I want to attend. My 'friend' told me she had split up with her DH and could we come for a few drinks. So I said yes, and later it emerges that they have not actually split up and she told me a few things which make me think she is treating him very badly and I feel sorry for him. He will be there and I am going to have to keep my mouth shut.

I wish I was staying in watching X Factor! Hope you are all having fun tonight, anyway Smile

Applesnotcakes · 26/10/2013 19:26

Tricky situation Monkey, hope the party was okay in the end.
Interesting point Bssh about smugness. I expect its a bit like ex smokers being the most intolerant but good to keep an eye on it! even if what you say is true

BsshBossh · 26/10/2013 19:27

I'm an ex-smoker and was very smug and judgmental for the first year after I gave up. But luckily that subsided and now I don't think anything about whether people smoke or not.

Loveitall · 27/10/2013 08:29

Hi, am hoping you don't mind me joining in the thread. I am hitting mfp again after a long break. In over a yr on mfp not really doing much I have yoyoed around a 5lb area. So I would quite like to crack on and lost a bit more efficiently this time. I am starting again today, I have weighed and measured myself and will go from there!

BsshBossh · 27/10/2013 09:17

Loveitall welcome new Chief :) What's your MFP name so we can befriend you. Stick around and you'll soon be motivated by Chiefly support.

Loveitall · 27/10/2013 09:50

Hi, my user name is loveitall78, have started a new account...fresh start and all that jazz!

happylass · 28/10/2013 07:47

happylass · 28/10/2013 07:53

Sorry posted too soon, stupid phone..

Morning Chiefs and welcome loveitall. A whole week since I've been on this thread but half term now so I finally have a minute to spare! Well done on all your efforts as always. anote I too am amazed by the resolve of the fasters. I tried it once and it made me feel ill for a week - not for me I don't think! But I do love melanzana parmeggiana but haven't had it for ages, will be putting that on the weeks menu soon I think!
Off to the Peak District today for a little break then heading straight up to Manchester where DP is working for the second half of the week and I will be giving the credit card a hammering in the Trafford Centre Should be ok on the exercise front as lots of walking planned in the Peaks plus Manc hotel has pool and gym. Eating out 6 days in a row may be a different matter though Hmm. Have a great week all!

anotetofollowso · 28/10/2013 09:57

Yo Chiefs, hope Monday's being gentle with you. I'm arsing around MN when I should be working, but hey, I've missed you all and need my Chiefly fix. Well done on the losses everyone.

I high-Randalled it all weekend and am on fruit so far this morning. Have I mentioned I love having you Chiefs in my life ? I swear the thought of you is what keeps me logging, and returns me to the straight and narrow path.

But my knee is playing up and I am terrified I wont be able to keep exercising, which I know is the key to eating well for me (plus of course exercise burns calories. But I find the biggest difference is that exercise shifts the way I eat, and I need it save me from sinking into pessimism). I am going to fork out for a physio though I should be saving money. But please hold thumbs for me - I am so afraid that all my good work will be undone if I can't exercise for a while. It's not that my knee is very sore - it isn't - it's that it's slightly and persistently sore, increasingly on days when I don't exercise as well as when I do. So I am hoping to fend off a big problem by addressing the knee ishoos now.

Onwards and downwards Chiefly sisters .....

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/10/2013 09:58

Good morning Chiefs. :)

I've not logged for a few days, I've been Randalling Possibly more than advisable since Friday.

I'm fasting today though, onward and upwards as they say.

(I did have some pretty tasty BBQ pulled pork sliders yesterday though.)

Strumpetron · 28/10/2013 13:27

I'm MFPing if anyone would like to add me to help me! Danapounce is my username

RandallFloyd · 28/10/2013 14:07

Blimey, I've missed loads yet again!

I've been Randalling my arse off all weekend so I really need to rein it in this week. Especially as I'm going to a pie and ale night on Friday Blush

Welcome newbies, I'm RandallFloyd on MFP too so feel free to add me. I will give the usual warning though: I am not a good example to follow. I have lost a lot but I can't say that the Randall diet comes highly recommended!

As an aside, is anyone else apart from and cari & me having problems with the app? It's driving me insane.

Lizzylou · 28/10/2013 19:53

Hola, am mid move and have just got back from weekend away so diet and exercise all gone to pot.
Normal service will be resumed next week.
Off to kiss some knees Grin Blush Blush

OP posts:
RandallFloyd · 28/10/2013 20:23

God I love kissing knees.
Biting bums is best though.

Applesnotcakes · 28/10/2013 20:47

Dear God, I hope not. I'd have to read it then.

Good luck with your knee, Anote. Mine complains but I keep pushing on with exercise and I think it's helpful rather than damaging within reason. Strengthening muscles and all that. And like you exercise helps keep my head straight re food, so I hope the physio allows you to continue

Fasting today. Not perfectly. Will end up at 800 I think. Could so easily have been worse. There were brownies at work requiring day long ignoring. Unlike the digestive that just leapt in.

anotetofollowso · 29/10/2013 19:26

All that knee kissing helped. The Physio says my sore knee is down to a common complaint once exercising begins in earnest, and can probably be fixed relatively easily. Thanks Chiefs. Now I'm hoping the bum biting cures my ... other complaints.

And how are your other complaints going Randall ? Your slippery arse is our slippery arse of course.

RandallFloyd · 29/10/2013 19:37

It's pile-y, mother fucking pile-y.
The cream is rubbish Angry

(Things didn't ought to go up bums. It's not right)
