Mmm, cheese scones. Now that's my kind of baking.

Titsalinabumsquash · 23/10/2013 16:51

Gah, crappy day here food wise, I ate a light breakfast of boiled eggs (no soldiers) then went shopping, after an hour or 2 I came over really dizzy and feint. The only thing to eat was KFC so that's what I had. Blush

BsshBossh · 23/10/2013 16:56

My favourite muffins are these feta and olive ones (though I exclude all the herbs apart from parsley):
www.greatbritishchefs.com/recipes/feta-olive-muffins-recipe
My favourite cheese scone recipe is from an old Good Housekeeping recipe which has sweetcorn in it too but I can't find it online.

RandallPinkFloyd · 23/10/2013 17:13

Sweetcorn Shock sweet Jesus no.

I'd happily fall down open mouthed onto a mountain of those feta and olive bad boys though.

BsshBossh · 23/10/2013 17:40

Grin The sweetcorn is for DD but works perfectly well without. Though I do love sweetcorn myself.

Dinkydoos · 23/10/2013 17:47

Omg, those muffins look divine!
randall cheese scones . Warm. With real butter.
No.better.food.porn.

Applesnotcakes · 23/10/2013 17:50

savoury muffins are a new thing to me - dont like olives but these look fab apart from that - would they be okay sans olive do you think? Calorie count per muffin??

RandallPinkFloyd · 23/10/2013 18:05

I reckon they'd be lovely with some spinach instead of the olives.

The real butter with the sea salt crystals. To take it even higher, make the cheese scones with blue cheese.

God I'm hungry.

Applesnotcakes · 23/10/2013 18:17

i used to make cheese scones as a teenager and lay out about 6 ready buttered to eat during Doctor Who. Until the cat licked off all the butter......

I think if I made them now I'd literally eat the lot. I cant really think of anything nicer, warm, straight from the oven, President butter

Lizzylou · 23/10/2013 18:26

South African meet up then?
I too am off the food wagon, we picked up keys yesterday and I have been racing round like a blue arsed fly. Only stopping to stuff my face Blush

Those muffins look lush!

DoubleMum · 23/10/2013 19:25

OK chief meet on Lizzy's sofa in new Dream House then. Messy bottoms optional.

Lizzylou · 23/10/2013 19:42

Deal.
Just, Randall, sort your arse out, eh?
Tits, I can't believe you had KFC! At least Mcd's or a Burger King is tasty. I have only been to KFC once and that was when I was drunk. And I couldn't eat it! Ugh!

OP posts:
BsshBossh · 23/10/2013 19:44

226 calories per muffin. I added it to MFP database as "Marcus Wareing's olive and feta muffins" and hopefully made it public. DD doesn't like the olives (she loves olives but not black ones cooked) so I might try substituting green ones. But looking at the mixture you could easily leave out any olives. I serve them cut in half with butter, like scones.

RandallPinkFloyd · 23/10/2013 19:50

Next week! How exciting!

I bloody love KFC. Putting a hash brown and some plastic cheese on a chicken burger is a slice of pure genius. Plus their gravy is the best. The chips are shit though, I'll give you that.

Burger King burgers are minging but their chips are far superior. If they could combine KFC chicken with Burger King fries, now that would be fast food perfection.

Mcdonalds doesn't count, they're proper shit at everything.

BsshBossh · 23/10/2013 19:50

OMG blue stilton scones!!! Those are now on my to bake list. I'd have to input all the ingredients into MFP's excellent My Recipes tab to work out calories though.

RandallPinkFloyd · 23/10/2013 19:53

You won't look back Bssh, food of the gods.
I use Perl Las.
Deflippinglicious.

Lizzylou · 23/10/2013 19:55

Randall, with regard to your fast food preferences, you are dead to me!

Blue cheese scones you say?........

Lizzylou · 23/10/2013 19:55

BK Mushroom double swiss is amazing!

OP posts:
BsshBossh · 23/10/2013 19:55

Agree, Burger King fries are the best. They're coated, aren't they. I have a very odd 5yo - not only does she dislike cake, she's completely nonplussed by McDonald's etc. Her mum, on the other hand, does enjoy McD's occasionally and was gutted when they discontinued their Big Tasty meals.

BsshBossh · 23/10/2013 19:58

Hmmmm, might have to lunch at a McD or BK this Friday...

RandallPinkFloyd · 23/10/2013 20:06

Mushroom double Swiss?
More info please.....

BsshBossh · 23/10/2013 20:08

Randall I Googled it thinking I might try it on Friday but apparently it's been discontinued in the UK. The images of it look yummy though.

Stilton and walnut scones - 308 cals.
