Tea well done!
Lizzy that soup sounds yum!

RandallPinkFloyd · 10/10/2013 19:02

Wow, you're all so active!

Dinky your weekend sound so like heaven.

Fantastic loss monkey and goo idea not telling anyone. I did exactly the something for exactly the same reasons. It made life a lot easier.

I missed the pics of your dress Pants Sad it sounds beautiful though. I could have written your post 9 months ago, I felt like utter shit. On the very rare occasions I actually went out I would hide myself away and hope no one noticed me. If I did it them with that lovely DP of yours you definitely can. We're all behind you Chief!

Congrats on the successful fasts apple, you'll be a pro in no time.

Well done off the fasting and loss tits. As regards fasting I don't really have a set pattern. Some days I just nibble during the whole day, others I just have one main meal, it's never made any difference for me tbh so just go with whatever suits you on the day.

Soup sounds delish Lizzy. You're considering Tough Mudder? Really? You rock so very hard.

Congrats on the jobs Tea and cari. Soz about the shits an' all that.

I never meal plan Bssh you know me, I go with whatever is reduced to clear Grin

Fasting today and tomorrow as I've been really naughty, even by my standards over the last week. Plus I have lots of fun things planned for next week (why does it all come at once eh?) so need to get myself in the Randalling zone.

Weekend's upon us Chiefs Smile

Titsalinabumsquash · 10/10/2013 19:22

I'm most certainly not active! Day to day errands are my limit after birthing DS3 my hips cry at any sign of active-ness Confused

I have had a normal day today just under 2300 cals, I will fast again Monday I think, it was quite easy but I'll definitely not do more than 2 a week. My goal is to drop at least half a stone by Xmas so I can put it all back on again so nothing ambitious.

I'm going to try and Randall as little as possible this weekend, DP is taking DS for the afternoon and the 2 older boys are with their dad so I have an afternoon to myself! I might paint the downstairs loo (rock and roll!)

I meal plan kind of, I go shopping after finding out some dinner suggestions/requests from everyone here then buy what we need for it taking into account anything on offer. Most my meals are done in the slow cooker because I'm too harassed come actual dinner time to cook.

Applesnotcakes · 10/10/2013 21:07

Hard to get on mumsnet tonight. Beaker-gate obviously creating attention. Was just going to say to Anote to try running on grass. I started earlier ths year, at 50, and loved it but it did do my knees in a bit. The odd ice pack afterwards helped and grass was better. But I did love it, being outdoors, space to think. All good. Just not so easy to fit in now before work.

Lizzylou · 10/10/2013 21:25

Oh yes anote, good trainers and sports bra, softer terrain, c25k, go go go Grin
Soup was lush.
Have been watching ds1 at swimclub in seemingly tropical heat and am off to bed now. Ds1 was very active, wore me out watching him Wink
Oh and we exchange contracts tomorrow on new housr Grin Grin Grin Grin

New house deffo, new career? Seems I can't even give my services away Hmm

Onwards and downwards.

BsshBossh · 11/10/2013 06:58

Lizzy the new career will come in time :)

Weigh-in Friday for me and 1.2 lbs down despite TOM. Now off to eat cake. Gotta love 5:2 and Randalling combo :)

Applesnotcakes · 11/10/2013 08:53

Bssh you're a marvel - week after week pounds off - well done. The Randall balancing act seems to work so well for many of you it's really encouraging to think that the good times food and drink wise still continue AND weight comes off.

I have now done 2 fasts - 750 cals on second so not quite what it should be but I've lost 3 pounds this week so am v happy - AND very importantly am now ( a shameful) 199 pounds so no longer in the 200s. Goodbye and good riddance to them.

Lizzy did your soup have a recipe? - sounds lovely

Dinkydoos · 11/10/2013 10:32

bssh you are just such a great loser! Think im a stay same today, but def TOTM about to appear so let's just call that at leeeeeaaassst 2lb, yes?

Dinkydoos · 11/10/2013 10:40

Oops pressed send a bit hastily there.
Well done apple 3lbs off is great, and honestly 750 on a fast day when you are just starting fasting is still a big achievement. I really do think the eat, starve thingy of fasting woks as a weight loss plan.

Lizzylou · 11/10/2013 11:13

Well done Apple and Bssh! Apple, what a fab milestone Smile
I just make soup up tbh, just roast a butternut squash (halved with seeds taken out), boil up chopped celeriac in chicken stock cube, garlic and lots of herbs and a handful of red lentils. Then scoop out butternut squash flesh, add and blitz with a handblender. I did a huge pot this time so loads in freezer for next week.
And yes, Dinky, at least 2lbs, deffo Smile

I am back to pre-holiday weight again so all good in the hood Grin

Titsalinabumsquash · 11/10/2013 11:20

I have pumpkin soup in my freezer... But I also have a pumpkin pie filling in the freezer, I'm not sure which is which. Confused

BsshBossh · 11/10/2013 11:21

Apples great loss and well done for breaking the 200 lb barrier - that was me last year and I remember feeling completely elated!!! My only problem was that I couldn't share my elation with anyone (not even my DH) because no one knew my weight at the time (I only told DH I'd reached 210 lbs once I reached the 160s).

Dinky I think the eat/starve cycle (or any up/down calorie cycling really) keeps the metabolism on its toes, keeps it "guessing", doesn't make it drop because it "knows" a good amount of food is just around the corner. Certainly it keeps me from feeling deprived (because it's only lo-cal twice a week) so I'm more likely to stick to dieting.

Anyway, I had a sumptuous iced carrot cake and a jumbo oat, pecan & cranberry cookie today for breakfast Grin. Feeling a bit stuffed though Blush.

BsshBossh · 11/10/2013 11:22

Lizzy welcome back to the hood!

Lizzylou · 11/10/2013 11:31

Tits, defrost both and have a pumpkin fest? Grin
Bssh, why thankyou, the hood is looking mighty fine, with some mighty fine, slender chiefs in residence.

MonkeyGoneToHeaven · 11/10/2013 12:07

Happy Friday Chiefs!

What do we all have planned this weekend? I intend to spend tomorrow on the allotment as it is in a shameful condition, and then I'm going to meet my friends' brand new shiny DD on Sunday.

All this talk of running is making me want to get my trainers out, but I have an awful feeling that I don't fit into my running gear any more and I feel such a lump in one of DH's t shirts. Maybe I'll do it after I've lost a stone. 5lbs gone in 12 days now.

Fab milestone Apples - well done!

Damnthosegrannypants · 11/10/2013 12:18

Well done apples! Some great losses going on here chiefs!

I took the plunge and joined a new sw class last night. The consultant remembered me from my success a fewyears bback and was so welcoming. The class was really cheery and small. Phew.

Despite being seriously fucking stressed today work!

im feeling really positive. I don't have long now. . but I know this isn't about the wedding as much as it is just being happier and loosing as much as possible before I get pregnant again and being able to limit the damage during pregnancy too. I just need to focus on a day at a time.

I will be weighing in Thursdays..so I hope to be able to report back next week xx

anotetofollowso · 11/10/2013 12:28

Monkey please please don't let lack of nice gear stop you from running. Yes, one does feel frumpy in crap exercise clothes but one feels much worse not exercising at all. Don't waste the impulse to run - goodness knows it doesn't come very often. Get out there and soon you'll be back in your own nice running gear again. Or splash out on something you can bear to run in until you do fit into your gear.

Impassioned plea over :)

anotetofollowso · 11/10/2013 12:41

Thank you Chiefs for all the good advice about running. I only own one sports bra currently and have just ordered a whole lot more. I'll wait till they arrive and then contemplate running.

I've fallen off the wagon last night and today. I didn't lose anything yesterday despite being pretty good with the food and exercise for the last few days. So - kazam - I downed vast amounts of carbs and sugar. And of course this morning I had put on weight so I just continued the great eating fest. Didnt even log my intake on MFP.

I just logged on to MN so I could make myself stop by writing down what I'm doing. And remind myself of the progress you are all making. Do please send a kick up the arse my way ... this has to stop fast. And it will. I hope.

Sorry this is such a gloomy pessimistic post. Better to follow.

MonkeyGoneToHeaven · 11/10/2013 13:05

Ok anote I hear what you say about the running. And I've read your post about the eating fest. You know that weight loss doesn't happen evenly, right? And that some weeks you'll lose, some you'll stay the same and some, you will gain. But if you carry on logging what you eat and doing broadly the right thing, the graph will show your weight going down - rather a jagged graph, but down nonetheless. You will do it.

If I promise to go for a run later, DH's t shirt, sweaty red face and all, can you get back on to MFP? Deal?

Titsalinabumsquash · 11/10/2013 13:37

Tomorrow I'll be a busy bee, painting and tidying and organising WITHOUT the children around, ok I admit it, I'm a bad person, I'm sooooo looking forward to being able to do my thing without anyone around, but it will burn many calories. Grin

TheTigerDidntComeToTea · 11/10/2013 14:04

sneaks back onto thread...
Has a quick look around, everyone doing very nicely! And feels bad because she hasn't been on for such a long time.
