I'm considering fasting today. Shock

Does everyone have nothing until dinner or 2 smaller 'meals' during the day?

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 09/10/2013 07:45

Oooooo. I tend to wait until the evening but I think Randall sometimes lunches. Apples had soup yesterday on her first fast day. You could always try both ways before deciding. Remember to drink water, teas etc. and remember that the waves of hunger are temporary ... I tend to get hungry at 11, 2, 4.30 and 9 .... only lasts 30 mins and I have a peppermint tea.

I am going to see how fasting works whilst working. I may have to have soup because I'm not massively busy yet in new job.

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/10/2013 07:49

Well I'd still like to eat with the family so I'll probably wait until dinner. Green tea for the day. Huzzah! Confused

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 09/10/2013 07:50

And Granny please try not to be so hard on yourself. It will be ok. Perhaps it's worth doing something extra for yourself on your Chiefing journey - is there anything that you love doing? Just for yourself? Something that makes you feel good about yourself regardless of your size?

Damnthosegrannypants · 09/10/2013 07:56

Im trying to do something with my hair and makeup every day at the minute as I just shuv it up and look tired and pale all the time and I feel constantly self conscious so trying to do little things to feel a bit more confident during the day. . I think it might be helping a little.

You know when you just feel 'large' like im just constantly aware of it?

Just had porridge. . Got some left over chicken and rice ill have with veg for lunch, unsure of T as I forgot to get anything out! Meeting a friend today. . bit worried as she's a cakeoholic!

Lizzylou · 09/10/2013 09:16

Granny, why don't you treat yourself to a hair appointment? Or a Babyliss big hair/new straighteners whatever?
I do know what you mean, when you feel bigger you struggle to get past that just feel meh about your appearance in general. You shouldn't, you are eating healthier, you will be looking better and better.
I MUST exercise today, spent so long sorting shit out yesterday I didn't get chance.

Bootcamp scares me, is it muddy? I have friends trying to get me to do a Tough Mudder. Which is 10/11 miles of assault course in mud and you get electrocuted Shock Shock Shock Shock
No. Ugh.

1lb off this morning Smile

Applesnotcakes · 09/10/2013 09:34

Granny, I think the hair and make up helps. When I feel really fat I make more of an effort with my clothes - dress up a bit more. I have a few outfits that I think i look better in, more tailored than my default jeans and a big shirt, and I tend to keep them for work meetings or smarter occasions but if I'm feeling rubbish i wear them anyway - being smarter makes me feel a bit better

Damnthosegrannypants · 09/10/2013 09:41

I've had to carefully plan my next colour and cut so it times right with the big day :-D!

Lizzy I've just had to drop out of a simalar event as I slacked too much on training. its not something you wanna wing. ..Bc's are only muddy if its wet ;)

trust me once you've worked out in fresh air you'll never go back to air conned gyms.

Lizzylou · 09/10/2013 10:02

It will always be muddy in Lancs then Granny! Grin
Yay, well done Tits Smile

Tits well done! How's the fasting going? I'm another who saves calories up for the evening (unless I'm finding it hard, then I'll graze earlier on eg an apple for lunch, slice of ham for breakfast etc).

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/10/2013 11:56

It's going ok so far, I'm mainlining green tea and keeping busy juggling work and ds3. I'll be having Cottage Pie for dinner with veg and I'm looking forward to it! So how many times a week is fasting ok? Twice? API assume not for dYs on end..

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/10/2013 11:56

Excuse typos I'm typing with my nose Blush

BsshBossh · 09/10/2013 14:04

Tits twice a week is perfect - any more and you may start feeling deprived and then fall off the wagon.

Carikube · 09/10/2013 14:15

I think I may give this fasting a go once I'm at goal weight as we always have a day or two of bingeing at some point over the weekend (or during the week, or both).

I have also come up with a cunning plan for my weigh ins. As WW asks me to weigh in on a Monday AND I am an obsessive daily weigher, I have decided that each Monday, I'm just going to log my lowest weight from the previous 7 days, then I don't have to worry about any last minute derailments. Simples...

Also tea, you mentioned about the poo after (during?) running scenario. Do you have any handy hints for preventing this? As my C25k runs have got longer I have found that I am needing to sometimes cut short my warm down walk and just get back home and I'm a bit concerned about whether I'm going to be able to make my jogs any longer (was going to say 'runs' but realised that just sounds wrong in this context Grin). Also how is it going being back at work? Just been offered the job I interviewed for last week and so after 2 years of being at home, I may well be back joining the ranks of the gainfully employed, which scares the bejeesus out of me

anotetofollowso · 09/10/2013 14:17

Pants, known as Granny, I recognise the self-disgust you describe. I think anyone who has ever experienced out-of-control eating does .So you are not alone, and good on you for starting back on the journey. We'll cheer you along.

Tea thanks for the tip. And congratulations on the 2lb piss. Those colleagues are going to be fascinated to hear about it very soon :)

As it happens, I have been wondering if I can start running. I'm just loving the exercise and can feel myself increasingly addicted to the aerobic high. But probably not a good idea to run if I have dodgy knees and am over 50, right?

anotetofollowso · 09/10/2013 14:39

..that's Pants FORMERLY known as Granny

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/10/2013 16:25

I just sat down to eat dinner with the kids, never before have I been so happy to serve myself up a plate of dinner! :)

Awesome losses and fasting days going on!

Definitely best not to fast anymore than twice a week guys. . Have you considered 'raw days' for an alternative too? Much better for you than fasting if you find a planned fasting day too difficult in the colder months. I'll elaborate if anyone is interested in info.

Not too bad today. . was at work longer than expected. .nice 12 hr day!

tthinking of boot camping tomorrow as wellas Sunday but im only slight achey today. .which is making me v suspicious. I've got a feeling ive got delayed onset muscle soreness kicking in tomorrow.

BsshBossh · 09/10/2013 20:47

Does anyone else use MFP to menu plan? I rarely know in advance what we're eating over the weekend so can't pre-log those days, but as I work from home (and am alone) during the working week I can pre-log/plan. It's very helpful and this way I can plan just how much (calories) indulgent weekend Randalling I can do.

Lizzylou · 10/10/2013 12:03

I have made a humongous vat of butternut squash, celeriac and red lentil soup. Trying for a fast.
Carikube, Tea has a poo problem when running, I tend to wee
