Welcome one and all to The New Thread !

Results for me on Slim and Save 10 weeks = 42 pounds!

:o

Week 11 is looking rubbish for me, but I have been (and continue to be actually) poorly.

Come and make yourselves comfy...

Nor, I did Cambridge eighteen months ago and lost 3.5 stone. I kept it nearly all off by low carving after. So I haven't eaten bread or pasta or rice etc regularly since the end of 2011. And its a way of life now.

Cambridge is good if you need a consultant. If you can go alone, slim and save is fab for products and price.

Good luck on the 4lb :-D

smokinaces · 17/07/2013 16:16

I know several people do the 5:2 to maintain - two days on plan and then five low carb. Seems to work. Cambridge im not sure would be most cost efficient for this though.

MyJellybean · 17/07/2013 18:20

Thanks mrsPnut and Smokin. I gave in and had a Fybogel this morning as S&S said original is fine. Good luck with tomorrow's weigh in.

Nornironmum · 17/07/2013 18:29

Thanks smokin, yes it would cost me £12 a week to do 5 off Cambridge and 2 on, but I would happily pay it if it worked and also low carbed most of the time:
A small price to pay I think, but I wonder if it works? How are you all planning to maintain your losses after vlcd?

smokinaces · 17/07/2013 19:45

I'm planning on low carb food, but I admit I struggle with snacks and breakfast. So might stick with a shake every morning, and have a handful of bars around for emergencies.

smokinaces · 17/07/2013 19:47

Winter isn't so bad as I have scrambled eggs for breakfast, but summer is urgh for hot food!!

antimatter · 17/07/2013 20:22

I think ultimately is about how many calories you eat in any given week.
If Cambridge for 2 days is easier for you to to carry on with - why not?

I think by the time you are on maintenance you are going to crave less carb food.

5:2 has a lot of health benefits - if you going to have 500 cal via shakes or smaller portions of food I believe it will work out in the the same.

maggie666 · 18/07/2013 08:09

Hi everyone. I'm feeling a little frustrated today. I'm on week 4 and I've lost my mojo. Need to get through it this week and get my motivation back. And to stop eating some of my dd food when i cook for her. Gotta keep telling myself why I'm doing this! ( wedding in February). Just coming on this thread is helping.
Good luck with your weigh in today smokin.

sammac · 18/07/2013 11:14

Maggie, think how well you've done till now- you are determined and don't want to put that good work to waste. How much have you lost in the last few weeks - then think where you could be in another 4 or 8 weeks. This is not forever but a little part of hard work to get you/ us feeling and looking better. Come on here and read how well everyone has done so far- yet no-one is there yet. Yes, it's hard at times, but February is a huge goal to aim for.

Big calorie free hug x

smokinaces · 18/07/2013 20:19

Maggie, four weeks is ace. What are you really craving? Would it help to have one night off it, having what you want, and then jumping back on it the next day? It stalls for a week then, but I did it a fortnight ago and it really helped with the cravings.

I weighed in and hovered. Must be 10'3.5 as it flittered between 10'3 and 10'4. I'm getting so close to the 10 stone mark.

Made a cock up tomorrow though. Forgot id promised the kids dinner out with my mum and I've arranged someone over for dinner as well!! So three salads for me tomorrow - small one for lunch, small one around 4 with the kids and another one with friend at around 9. Hoping no carbs and lots of water helps!! Debating whether to skip my shake tomorrow morning and have a bar around 10am instead too. Then three meals and one pack in total across the day, instead of three packs and one meal.

MrsPnut · 19/07/2013 07:10

End of the first week and I've lost 9lb. Still a very long way to go but because I am doing a mish mash of diets to suit me, I think it's a long term thing.

MrsPnut · 19/07/2013 07:13

Well done on the loss smokin, and lots of protein and low carb should be fine.

I am having either an exante bar, a s&s shake, a protein and veg meal and a protein snack or an exante bar, exante shake and a protein and veg meal. I am logging it on MFP and staying under 70g of Carbs a day and around 600-750 cals

smokinaces · 19/07/2013 10:22

Well done mrspnut fab loss!! Finding something that suits you and works is key

Well I forgot my breakfast and lunch!! So had two babybells and got a bar luckily for lunch. Then the two dinners tonight. Doh!

But scales this morning said 10'3 - 1lb off the stone mark. And seeing people this weekend who haven't seen me in over a month, so having dropped a dress size it should be noticeable. Whoop!)

PutThatDownNow · 19/07/2013 10:27

Well done smokin, and MrsPnut that's a great result for the first week.

Firmly in ketosis but still finding it difficult not to nibble. I think I am bored more than anything else. Seeing you all do so well is inspiring for me, or at least a glimmer of hope that I can keep going too.

How did you get on in the end yesterday Maggie? Hope you got your mojo back.

sammac · 19/07/2013 10:29

Well done mrspnut and smokin -woohoo!!

maggie666 · 19/07/2013 11:29

Hi all.
Feeling a lot better today. Thanks for the pep talk think i needed it. Got on scales today and not lost anything so far. But official weigh day is Monday si plenty of time. I'm back to being focussed today. I go back to work
Soon after being on maternity leave for 11 months. Really want to be in the 13 stone bracket ( even 13s13.5 will do. lol) so I've got to go for it.
Well done on the weight loss smokin. Hope everyone is doing great. Xxx

MyJellybean · 20/07/2013 13:23

Well done MrsPnut and Smokin on weight loses. What is MFP?

I plan to join a local gym next Friday as they have a one month trial membership so no 1 year tie in. I'm hoping that it will help with the next 1 stone loss or at least help to tone up some of the 2 stone already lost.

Is anyone else exercising? I'm going to use the classes for variety as I find the gym so boring.

sammac · 20/07/2013 21:43

Today's weigh in saw another 4lbs off and broke the 4 stone barrier. Yeah. And that was since Monday, so was more than delighted. Total 4 st 2 1/2 lbs, not even 4 months. And saw my bf, who hadn't seen since I started and she was very complimentary, even used the word 'trim' lol. Didn't expect so much, think it must be the gallons of water being drunk in this heat. And my bmi down to only overweight

sammac · 20/07/2013 21:46

Looked at gym yesterday after swim, and thinking seriously about joining now. Unlimited classes gym and swims for 36 a month- is this the going rate??

PutThatDownNow · 21/07/2013 07:57

sammac that's brilliant, congratulations. 4 stone is fantastic. So is the BMI shift. I dream of just being 'overweight' Grin.

All going ok here, I am still bored. My birthday weekend and I watched family enjoy a rather fabulous looking cake yesterday without having any.

Have a business trip overseas Mon and Tues though so am a bit wary of that. I will take shakes and bars and have managed so far to avoid making any dinner arrangements with anyone so hopefully will be able to stay on plan. Will have to play it by ear a bit though and try to limit the damage.

sammac · 21/07/2013 08:11

A birthday and you stuck to it!! You are strong. With this attitude a couple of days away will be a doddle!! You're already planning what to do about it and that's half the battle Smile

MrsPnut · 21/07/2013 20:49

MFP is my fitness pal, useful for logging food intake.

MyJellybean · 21/07/2013 21:15

Well done Sammac on the weight loss. £36 per month is pretty good. Freedom Leisure is £39 and that's the cheapest near me.

Well done with the birthday restraint. Mines in September and I'm already thinking of coming of plan for a couple of weeks at that time.

kateyjane · 21/07/2013 22:28

Well, had got to 1 stone 7 off, but not sure what will happen this week, as well and truly fell off the wagon this weekend. Just going to put it down to experience and start again tomorrow! My husband was away and I just lost it Sad, but I figure as long as I keep going it will be okay. There will be occasions, special meals etc when I want to be 'normal'.

Well done sammac, mrspnut and smokin - putthatdown - you are a better woman than I! It was my MIL's cake that caused my downfall!

Good luck to everyone for this week.

smokinaces · 22/07/2013 19:10

Well done sammac!!

I got an off the peg asda multiway bra today in a 34d. And it fits. I was a gigantic h cup, so this is good! Never worn multiway so excited.

Downside to weight loss, went and bought a lovely dress for a party Saturday. Have never even been smaller than a size 14 from next, even at my smallest last year. Bought a 14. Got it home. Its bloody too big. So got to go Thursday and hope they have it in a 12 and I can do it up!!
