Laura, you won't find us judging your choice, we're all in the same boat after all! If you like the counsellor and the packs then that is bloody terrific, all power to you.

Hi all, everyone is doing so well. I started on the 17th of June doing soule source on Cambridge. Got weighed the flowing Tuesday so 8 days later and lost 14lb, I had 20 to lose. Started soule source plus last Tuesday so a week yesterday, got weighed Monday and had lost 3lb, then weighed today lost another one. Seeing consultant on Saturday so I'm hoping for another 1b. I know that only leaves me 2lb to target but I'm going on hols 25th of July so I decided to change my target and aim for another 9lb, I'm sticking to soule source plus to try to do it, and will move up the plans after holiday, after a week on soule source to lose the holiday weight. I am drinking tons of water, maybe 5lts per day and I really think this is what's done it. I really hope to go on my holiday with that 9lb off, but would be happy with 7lb and I seem to be losing 3 a week so I hope I can do it. Good luck everyone

Hello all and welcome,
My bloody packs haven't arrived, I literally have four packs of porridge left. Great, like the porridge but also like having variety in my day. Boossh are being a nightmare to get through too. Anyway rant over
Good luck to those just starting, I've found it easier to stick to by sticking a chart on the wall in my kitchen with my plan and each day crossing it off when I have done it. This has kept me motivated even when off the plan as I just write what I have eaten.
What does irl mean? Xx

Hi everyone, i'd like to join you all.

I am hoping to start my Cambridge diet journey very soon - just waiting for an appointment with my consultant.

I'm currently 5ft 8 and weigh around 17.5 stones :(

I'm not really sure what weight i'd like to be - I just want to be a size 14 (currently 18/20). I've also found recently that my knees have started hurting when I get up from being seated and my asthma is worse.

Just need to finally shift these pounds and stop being greedy/lazy too!

My only concern is that I will give in to my craving too easily. I've been considering counselling/hypnotherapy - has anyone tried this?

Lauren x

Hi Lauren, don't feel too sad, you will see really quick results on this diet. I am 5ft 7.5 and started at 16.13 on April 17th.

I am now 13.13!

Counselling and hypnotherapy are both helpful if you have stuff you need to talk about. I just blather on here... Wink

Hi Scone, thanks for the nice welcome. Just had a phone chat with my consultant and she sounds fab! She is coming to see me tomorrow at 7pm with the products etc. She went through all the details on the phone and is wanting me to try the soul source plus to start with. Am I right in thinking that I don't have to eat the meal if I don't want and just have the shakes etc?

Congrats on your fab weight loss its amazing!

I shall be a regular on here I think - its nice having others to chat to who are in the same position and know what i'm going though.

Hubby has had strict instructions to keep me away from food! lol.

Sammac, my apologies. I have just noticed my I-pad changed your name to spam mac, I hate this thing!!!!!
Good luck Laura, they're a great bunch on here so you'll get all the encouragement you need.
Jolibee, I got my first 2week Exante plan on Groupon in May. I bought other packs since then and also the 6week one a couple of weeks ago again on Groupon. I was fine until week 4 when I had to include a meal and it became 3weeks of including a meal. Then through those on this thread I discovered Slim and Save who have evening meals that taste great (so do their choccy bars).
I have survived my 3day training course where, as expected, they provided lunches each day of mixed sandwiches, chris ps and fruit. I took my shakes and a salad.

A sneaky two pounds down this morning. 10'5 down from 11'2 three weeks ago. Only threepounds off my lowest from last summer. Wasn't expecting anything, but something obviously worked. With being in my bmi now and having pcos this two pounds is an achievement!

Now, what can I eat Saturday and Sunday to knock me out of ketosis enough to make alcohol safe, but not completely wreck it???

Welcome to the newbies :-) I was very anti vlcd until I did Cambridge in October 2011 and now I am a convert

Well done Smokin, just shows if we stick to it, it will work!

Feeling happy this morning, which is very unusual for me, I'm usually telling myself off for not trying harder yesterday. It's nice to wake up feeling calm and looking forward to the day for a change.

Does the Slim & Save packs taste good? I have looked online and I see they are much cheaper than LL. I really like the taste of LL and lets face it, if this is all you're going to eat it's got to taste good! LL do porridge, soups, shakes, meals and bars. I don't like shakes but I love being able to have porridge, soup, bar and dinner, it's like having a proper meal routine......well, I can kid myself lol.

Hope you're all off to a good start this morning Smile

I love the slim and save. Highly recommend them. I too have porridge or shake for breakfast, a bar with a salad and a meal for dinner - makes choices simpler and they do taste nice. Other than crispy shakes. Eugh.

Thinking one slice of wholemeal bread and some new potatoes. Lowish carb, easier to burn

Report
SconeInSixtySeconds · 04/07/2013 09:16

Thinking back to when I did Pig2twig, that was about 40g of carb per day and alcohol was allowed. So maybe it is the combination of ketosis and calories (lack of!) in here that makes the difference?

Although of course alcohol gets burned before fat.

Laura - I'm with s&s as well, and although I don't like the crispy shakes either most of it is really tasty. There is no counsellor though if you like that aspect of LL, but there is a forum and help.

It is amazing the difference a couple of days makes. I am 2 pounds down since Weds... And now wondering how not to shaft myself while dh is home. I don't want to undo my hard work! He is back for 3 weeks and in that time it is his birthday, ds birthday and a trip to see his family in NornIron.

Do you guys think it would work to basically low carb (with alcohol) and maybe do 2 days a week on programme or would you must stick with low carb and deal with it as I go along? Confused

waves hello

I have just ordered my first month of Slim and Save.
I did slimfast years ago and it was the only thing that kickstarted my weight loss. I was 115KG at 17 years old and was 70KG a year later, I only did 3 months but it was the process that got me started.

So now, after a very rough pregnancy I am back up to 105KG and normal eating habits just can't be maintained. I am very nervous but excited as I know I can do it again.

The only thing that worries me is how to discuss it with my OH. I was single when I was losing before so had no one to answer to... but i know he will question why I am doing it this way. How have your OH's coped with you doing VLCD? how did you work mealtimes (I always cook)?

My OH is very supportive. I have told him that I need his help to ensure that I do not have anything tempting me to cheat! He even offered to do the food shop for me! Shock!

I start tomorrow so not sure yet how i'll feel when I am making dinner for him/kids - we shall see how it goes!

Good luck thehorsedentist!

Well my dh is 10,000 miles away so I am not the best person to ask about partner ishoos...

But that does mean I have been looking after the dc single handed for the whole time, including cooking. For me, I make sure I eat something at the same time as my dc - a bar in the early days, now it's a shake (sometimes turned into mousse) and a huge glass of water. I often have some salad at that point too.

The first few days were tricky, but you do learn to cope!

If you really think your oh will kick off do you think having the small protein meal (instead of one of the shakes) with him would placate him?

Scone, lot do that - basically 5:2 principle, but five days low carb with alcohol and odd treat, two days on plan. You should sts if nothing else.

I am single so don't need to worry. I don't tell many people I've done this or doing it - I have relaxed into two to three packs with either one or two salads so its not as obvious in my case.
