I found the fourth day the most difficult. I wasn't really hungry for the first three days aside from the odd pang, and I expected to be in ketosis and therefore feeling good by day 4 and I still felt like poo!

Tomorrow is my second weigh in and I'm not convinced I've managed more than a 2lb loss tbh, but I really don't feel like I'm on a diet (I was surrounded by bacon rolls yesterday and wasn't jealous! ) so am still motivated to keep it up Grin

I've been told to expect a stone a month loss on VLCD's...those who have lost lots - have you found this to be true in your experience?

By day 5 I was fine btw!

How is everyone tonight? I've treated myself to a bottle of fizzy water!! Leak in the roof so water off no hot bath for distraction - will have to find that jigsaw puzzle...

Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow Indecisive. My 2nd week loss was less I think due to TOM, but then saw a drop 2 days later. 1 stone in a month definitely achievable.

Pinkdelight - I was addicted to Starbucks Gingerbread Lattes so needed to come off caffeine to stop me going in Blush

Hope everyone is doing ok. my stomach is growling something rotten tonight! Think I've finally worked out how to get the best from the porridge, just wish the soup would thicken a bit. I've found I need to add more water to the shakes. I bought one of those sports bottles from sports direct it's got a little wire ball in it for shaking and mixing the powders up and works really well. Not bad for £1.99!

Weighing daily as part of the research study and lost almost 1lb over night

Took kids to pizza hut last night on way home and managed to just drink two glasses of diet coke.

Hi everyone!

It's been three weeks for us. DP has lost 26 pounds ShockShock and I'm gutted to report I've only lost one pound this week Sad Just over a stone in total.

tarajupp · 22/01/2014 22:28

Why do men always lose quicker?? Not fair!
Still a stone in 3 weeks is still amazing. Don't give up. I'm sure I've read that week 3 is always hard. Have you tried measuring waist hips etc?

Report
hiphipreplacement · 22/01/2014 22:49

No I stupidly forgot to measure! Idiot! Grin

Report
IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 23/01/2014 07:32

It's worth measuring! I've just measures and have lost another half inch from my waist (1.5 in total) and an inch off my hips! (2 in total! ) so really pleased Grin resisted the urge for a sneaky weigh in and going to be patient for later!

A stone in a 3 week is amazing - that's what I'm hoping for! Typical of your DH though! Mine is naturally skinny so very frustrating!

tiger do you mean coke zero? you know diet coke knocks you out of ketosis cos of citric acid? well done for withstanding the pizza, but that made me panic for you!

Morning all

How's everyone doing? I'm back from the gastronomic capital of Italy...amazing couple of days. Restart for me now, willpower required! Didn't weigh myself this morning.

I just keep thinking that all it takes is an ounce of willpower, and as soon as I get to my goal I can start enjoying things again (in smaller amounts!)

tigger can you have diet coke? It's not allowed on LL due to citric acid. Booooo.

IndecisivePramBuyer81 · 23/01/2014 15:51

Yeah only 2lb Sad but that's 8 3/4 lb in 12 days so I can't really complain! and the inch losses Smile

Cheesy, you've come this far! it's the final stretch! I bet you can get to your target weight for summer Wink

I've never liked diet drinks so luckily don't have that temptation! have developed a taste for black coffee now though as I couldn't go cold turkey from caffeine! Wish I could warm to green tea but I can only just about stomach it!

Evening all!

Must feel fab to have lost those inches Indecisive Grin

A trip to Italy sounds wonderful Cheesy. Not sure I could cope with all that temptation. I have my first test tonight - off to meet the girls for dinner. Have decided on a steak and fizzy water only - no G&Ts!!!!

Wish me luck...

Hi parsley I'm on the final stretch too. It's hard. But if we stick at it, it WILL work.

I think you said you wanted to lose about a stone ? Am going back to LL sun for final push I am exercising every day too walking bit of running I'm hoping I can push to get under 10st ! It shan't be that hard but seems to be are you back at group ?

Report
Cheesyslice · 23/01/2014 21:50

Yeah back at group...they are great. I've got about another stone to lose, but would love to get to nine stone. Not sure if that's realistic / achievable though. I'm swimming and running.

Parsley1234 · 23/01/2014 22:11

What does your group leader say ? Mine says maybe I'm at ideal weight now but I think in fairness haven't given 100 percent to losing last 10 lbs I tend to have shake am then bar mid pm and shake b4 bed with low carb meal about 6 I'm going to really retread everything

She's brilliant. So good. We had a long chat last week and I admitted my head wasn't in it at the moment. She said it's unbelievably common to almost get to goal and then hit a bump. She talked about the LL logo - it's a ribbon thing with peaks and dips. She said this is actually meant to represent the ups and downs on the way to your goal and beyond. So basically I need to pull my finger out my arse and stop going off plan. Sounds easy...

Because I had two days pigging out in Italy I'm doing four packs a day at the moment.

Report
tiggermummy70 · 24/01/2014 00:46

I am on slightly different plan to everyone else as its being done as research project. Still have lot to loose...
four sachets a day plus 750mls skim milk plus 4 pints additional liquid which can include tea/coffee and zero cal drinks. Nothing said about no citric acid. I drink diet coke all time when not on diet as I find normal stuff too sweet.
I did get caffeine free, which again I prefer but not many places sell it.

I am worried about what to do DD1 7th birthday in few weeks, still be on sachets only.... wondering if I could get away with one meal don't mind skipping birthday cake Confused .....

I'm fed up. After the first 2 1/2 weeks on Slim and Save, I've stalled. I've lost nothing at all this week Sad

Report
pinkdelight · 24/01/2014 09:56

I feel you letsface, am on day 24 and haven't lost anything for well over a week, but I think I'm spoiled. I lost a stone really quickly and although it would be great for motivation for the weight to keep falling off, it's still a stone within a month so I have to hang onto that and keep going. It's always inconsistent, which is hard, but it does add up. Also I haven't been measuring myself but I feel like my waist has got smaller even if the scales are static. How much did you lose in the first 2.5 weeks?

Report
LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 24/01/2014 10:46

16lb so overall it's fine but I do get the nagging feeling that I could be losing 1 to 2lb a week on an easier method like SW or WW Sad

Ah, so you're in the same boat. I know what you mean about weekly loss, but then you'd have taken two months to get to a 16lb loss so this way is unreservedly better on balance surely? Just grass is greener thinking. I was having it last night thinking maybe I'd just switch to 5:2 for the last stone. But I know I won't stick with it. This way does work, and fast too. I fear we just get hooked on that high of the scales going down each time.

I have had another shitty week trying to get back on track - my birthday last weekend and had a wee treat or two.
I really want to do this, not least because my so called friend has been so mean all along about it (and she doesn't even know its a VLCD).

Keep up everyone - its the difficult weekend ahead - harder for me as its a different routine and more coffee shop temptations etc.

weigh in for me on monday - would like 2 or 3 lb but not getting my hopes up
