Week 11 is looking rubbish for me, but I have been (and continue to be actually) poorly.

Which diet is that? Not familiar with one involving milk every day. Are you able to chop and change between A and B or do you have to stick with one? I'd probably go for A as 200cals isn't much real food. But if poss I'd switch between the two - up the excitement factor!

pinkdelight · 04/01/2014 18:43

Having said that B is the closest to what I'm actually doing - 3 exante packs and up to 400cals food (tho I try to have less). It is nice to have the odd slice of ham but I still think your A option is better as long as you like the food packs.

What is the deal with the milk thing? On LL and exante you can only have it after several weeks abstenance (12 weeks on LL if memory serves which seemed like forever!). Hence I'd always assumed it took you out of ketosis. But if you can have some every day, presumably that's not the case?

anothernamechangerreally · 04/01/2014 18:58

Mmm yes I'm still not sure, you can change daily do may well do that. You are right, it's not many cals to play with!!

It is the cambridge diet, step 1, sole source plus.

anothernamechangerreally · 04/01/2014 18:59

Btw I hope it doesn't take me out of ketosis before I'm even in it!!! But assume it can't or else it wouldn't be part of the plan.

ellie74 · 04/01/2014 19:16

Hey, I would love to lose 4 st but losing 3 would take me to a really good place (where I was before the girls came). I am 5'7".
I will go to bed early as well, I have 2 meal packs to go and sort of dreading them, that's the bad sign!
I am hoping for a better (headache free) day tomorrow.

pinkdelight · 04/01/2014 19:21

Ah, not up on the CD but course if its in the plan it'll keep you in ketosis. Guess that's another example of why I found LL too hardcore. If it's possible to have a wee bit of milk without going out of ketosis then why be so rigid? But it worked so I shouldn't grumble.

Joiningthegang · 04/01/2014 19:52

Ellie - I'm on day 6 an headachy (but not really hungry)

Long walk with A friend doing cambridge diet helped a lot.

Hot bath and early night will set me up for tomorrow I think.

Hope the evening goes well for you all x

pinkdelight · 04/01/2014 20:16

Oh my, I'm hoping to be feeling awesome by day 6. Must summon up extra reserves of patience just in case...

Cheesyslice · 04/01/2014 20:46

Hang in there guys. It does get easier.

That said, I'm having a hungry day today Hmm

summerbreezer · 04/01/2014 21:18

Also having a hungry day - they don't go away, not completely. Fortunately nothing in the flat to pig out on!

Stay strong everyone. You do feel a lot better after the first week. Then when you start to see those numbers going down, you just feel happy all the time. Which sounds stupid, but for me the weight was the biggest thing holding me back in my life. So to see that go - well, it means a lot.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 05/01/2014 09:17

Hello!
Can I join in?
I'm on day 5 of Slim and Save. I've lost 7lb of the 9lb I put on over Christmas. I want to lose about 2 stone - as much as possible before the end of February.
I've done Cambridge before and Slim and Save and this is the last time I'm doing one of these diets.

The difference this time is that I've figured out that I need to be meticulous in planning to keep the lard off when I finish the diet.

No going back to the bad old habits or I'll just get fat agaiin.

pinkdelight · 05/01/2014 10:35

Hi there letsface - I'm on day 5 exante with a similar goal. Just kicked into ketosis so feeling much better than last night! Still a bit nibbly but at least it's only mental not proper hunger now. V strong of you to say this is the last time. I do find it hard not to gradually slip back into bad habits. Wondering about doing the fasting day per week when I've finished to maintain. Are you just gonna do the eat healthy and exercise thing? That's the ideal I know.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 05/01/2014 12:23

I'm going to look at portion control and be strict about not eating between meals. I'll weigh every day and give myself a 4lb zone that I have to stay within.

I've just been looking at my pattern of weight loss from the previous 2 Cambridge stints. After the first 2 weeks, I lose 2lb a week and then when I get to a certain weight, I plateau for 3 weeks. Neither consultant could explain it so I'm guessing my body just adapts.

Just before I get to that point, I'm going to start working up the Cambridge Plan from my old book because I think eating more will stop my body shutting down IYSWIM.

Cheesyslice · 05/01/2014 14:15

Hi all.

I'm also terrified of putting the weight back on (not that I've lost it all yet). LighterLife now do a 5:2 plan called Fast which I'm going to do when I hit my goal. I like the idea of being able to eat normally on five days then having two days of hell in order to maintain Grin

Just done the first day of the Insanity workout. I'm literally flat in my back on the sofa.

I ballsed up my packs so ended up having spag bol for breakfast this morning , then had chilli about 11 followed by a raspberry and cranberry bar. Prawns and veg for dinner. HOW EXCITING. Hmm

Anyone else find the LL cranberry bar and apple porridge just too sweet?

Joiningthegang · 05/01/2014 17:10

This morning I lined up jeans in the order I expect to be able to fit into them.

Small things!

anothernamechangerreally · 05/01/2014 19:33

Evening everyone!

I too am thinking about how I will maintain once I get to target. It's a long way off obviously but I think it's good to think about it before you get there. Otherwise I can see it would be easy to slip into old habits.

I am thinking of a low gi way of eating. I am veggie and did do low carb before but it was not sustainable long term, so I think low gi might work. Also really need to consider mindless snacking. Doing this diet really shows me how much extra I would have eaten in addition to my main meals.

Hope you are all having a good day!

Cheesyslice · 05/01/2014 19:45

I've of the biggest changes for me is (aside from not drinking - I used to do four bottles of wine from Fri - Sunday Blush ) not hoovering up DS' dinners. He's only 2.5 and he's noticed...now tries to force feed me! These are the things I need to continue NOT doing after I get to goal.

This may be tmi but does anyone get bunged up and / or bloated on their VLCD? I've always suffered with bloating but do struggle sometimes. Peppermint tea helps but I need something stronger I think.

Cheesyslice · 05/01/2014 19:45

hiphipreplacement · 05/01/2014 20:04

Four days in and I miss wine so much!!!

pinkdelight · 05/01/2014 21:07

I haven't had the bunged up issue (yet?) but remember others at LL group had. There was some kind of extra fibre product available on the plan I think. Worth invest

pinkdelight · 05/01/2014 21:08

Igating! Bloody iPhone.

m.groupon.co.uk/deals/national-deal/gg-exante-diet-5/31762821

Thought this night be of interest to some people. Seems like a great deal. I spent £56 on a weeks worth of cambridge stuff so this looks amazing!!

pinkdelight · 06/01/2014 12:48

Bugger! Ordered my big new batch at the w/e. Great offer though.

So I ended up buying some Exante ready meals which will arrive tomorrow. The talk of spicy spaghetti up thread tempted me! But now I feel a bit nervous about venturing beyond my choccy shakes - you always know a choccy shake is gonna be nice. Guess I have to get over this mad idea that every meal has to be a delicious treat. It's definitely part of what got me fat in the first place and it's probably a bit worse now 'meals' are even more precious. Will give it a whirl though, eh? How bad can they be!

ThePippy · 06/01/2014 16:09

Hi everyone - sorry for high-jacking your thread, but I have a question I think you will all be able to help with...

I did Lighter Life before, very successfully too (7 stone off in 6 months) several years and pregnancy's ago. I really want to do VLCD again but could do without the meetings and cost of LL etc. So I am interested in peoples views on the alternatives in terms of niceness of the packs. I am aware of Cambridge, Slim & Save, Exante and The New You plans. Anyone got any experience of these and have an opinion? Specifically on how the packs compare to LL ones on taste/texture etc is possible.

Thanks in advance & good luck to all of you VLCDieters xx
