Welcome one and all to The New Thread !

Results for me on Slim and Save 10 weeks = 42 pounds!

:o

Week 11 is looking rubbish for me, but I have been (and continue to be actually) poorly.

Come and make yourselves comfy...

Pink - snap - my choc shakes are really nice so not wanting to stray too far from them!

Still not weighed myself but did up a shirt that was an inch off doing up 10 days ago - so I must be smaller!

This is getting easier - for me the tricks are

Drink bottle water, cup if tea, another bottle

Keep busy

First shake at noon

Drink water and tea

Second at 330

Last at 7pm

And a walk with a friend helps lots too

Joiningthegang · 06/01/2014 17:46

Pippy - saints and slimmers are the best tasting meal replacements and cheap (79.99 for 4 weeks). I would spend that on coffees cakes and snacks in 4 weeks!

Cheesyslice · 06/01/2014 20:11

Aghhh terrible weigh in tonight...stayed the same :( That means according to LL I haven't yet lost my Xmas weight. Fucking fuckity twatting bollocks.

pinkdelight · 06/01/2014 21:29

Don't worry, cheesy, the loss will show up soon, it always does if you stay strong and stick with it. I know it's hard though. It's hard when things are going well. I could murder a spag Bol right now (so am actually glad you all tempted me to get the ready meals tomoro). But just hang on in there. If you pigged out anywhere near as much as I did at Xmas it'll take time to shift even on a vlcd. At least it was fun putting it on, eh? And it'll be even better when we're rid of it and fit and healthier and fitting in our nice clothes again.

Cheesyslice · 06/01/2014 21:43

Thank you pink Thanks

I have strayed from the plan a bit. However thee was a section on 'sabotage' in our group today and it was useful. Fingers crossed I can get back on track ASAP.

pinkdelight · 06/01/2014 22:54

Interesting. Think I remember something about that. Remember being so shocked that anyone would cheat, in my innocent early days of LL, then slowly realising it was possible then of course realising the shitty consequences. I hate getting back into ketosis so much that I'm hopin that'll stop me veering off plan this time. So tough though, esp with these kids who leave such tasty morsels on their plates!

Remind us how long you're aiming to be on the diet? Losing track already.

Cheesyslice · 07/01/2014 06:36

I thought exactly the same. The was a woman in my group who was really struggling and I thought 'Whaaaaaaaaat? It's easy!' If only I knew now...!

Getting back into ketosis is shit. It really is. But I'm hanging in there. I need to realise that if you don't cheat, it works. If you do cheat, all that money is going down the drain.

I've been doing this since the middle of October and gone from 12st 8 to 10st 8. I want to get to 9 stone. Not sure how long it will take me...not long if I buck my ideas up.

I've been stuck at 10st 8 since before Xmas. I just desperately need to get off this plateau.

pinkdelight · 07/01/2014 09:45

Well that's bloody amazing! And I'd be deliriously happy to plateau at 10st 8 for the rest of my days. But that's no help to you I'm sure. How tall are you? 9st sounds like a tough target, but perhaps you're smaller build. Well done for your loss so far, you should be really chuffed with yourself. And if you stick to it strictly it really shouldn't take long to lose another load which will get you motivated again. Are you doing much exercise? I dragged my arse around the park yesterday and it was vile at the time but i feel better for it and am hoping to go again today, even though the sky looks like Mordor right now!

noswingpark · 07/01/2014 11:30

Hi all. I haven't been on in a few days children have been ill. How is everyone? How are all the other newcomers getting on? I'm still staying strong, feeling a lot better but haven't had a poo in days Confused

Cheesyslice · 07/01/2014 21:08

pink I'm five foot six. Nine stone should be achievable I think. I hope. Been for another 2 mile run tonight.

noswing I bloody hate the constipation. Made the mistake of trying to ease it with a Dulcolax. BIG FAIL. Bloated and windy for days. I'm going to buy some LL fibre mix next week instead.

pinkdelight · 07/01/2014 22:11

Well done on the run! I managed one but not two miles. Can do that not on the diet but don't have the energy at the mo.

I'm 5ft 6 too and will be happy to maintain at 10.5 stone. The last time I was 9 stone I looked way too skinny. And was also pretty miserable and exercising like a loon. Then I fell in love and got fat! But lots of people look and feel great at that weight so don't let me demotivate you. Just saying it is a tough goal so don't beat yourself up if it's a hard road getting there. You're doing really, really well.

Cheesyslice · 08/01/2014 06:37

Thanks mate. It is a tough goal. It's amazing how people of he same height look different at the same weight. My issue is that I carry all of my wobbly bits around my hips and tummy. So at 10st 8lb I still have a belly and my hips are too big. My legs and arms are fine - no problem with them. I just need to shift the extra few pounds to get rid of the lorry tyre.

Cheesyslice · 08/01/2014 06:38

Btw I'm on the train with my hot chocolate mocha...nicely contained I my flask in my handbag! Also prevents my nosey team asking questions about what I'm drinking Hmm

Joiningthegang · 08/01/2014 06:41

Day 10 in the VLCD house....

And the shirt that I bought in the sales not fits!!! The material didn't even meet (1 inch gap) the day I brought it!

And v pleased - which has spurred me on to another day - althought it's my first day back in the office so there may be some tricky moments.

Any advice on how to survive an office and colleagues?

Joiningthegang · 08/01/2014 06:42

Now fits

Not "not fits"

Cheesyslice · 08/01/2014 17:29

joining Are you being 'open' about being on a VLCD? I'm not, and IMHO it's the easiest way to be. No questions, no judging, no temptation.

MrsBradfield · 08/01/2014 20:53

Day 3 on slim and save been the hardest day so far as started to feel the hunger so weighed to see if it would give me some motivation and I'm 3 1/4 lbs down from my start weight, which I am v pleased with!

Cheesyslice · 08/01/2014 21:45

Ooooh excellent well done mrsb! How much are you hoping to lose?

I've been having major hunger pangs today. Desperately hoping that ketosis kicks in tomorrow and they will go away. Had to buy a bag of cherry tomatoes and scoff them at work as I was so desperate Hmm

Oh and anyone doing lite who is thinking of having Sainsbury's roast chicken slices as your protein - don't! Bloody awful. Nearly made me sick.

pinkdelight · 09/01/2014 09:25

Hang in there Mrsb, I've got to day 9 and really seeing the benefits. Still lacking a bit of energy, but looking and feeling much trimmer already.

Hope your ketosis kicks in swiftly cheesy. I had a panic realising the sparkling water I had in the pub last night had a slice of lime in it - the dreaded citric acid! Really hope there wasn't enough to mess things up.

My readymeals arrived but I was gutted to find they're mostly porridge and shepherds pies, the two things I hated most on LL. There's a few spag bols and the other dishes as well but the sight of dozens of porridges brought back horrible memories of powdering lumps and put me right off. So I'm still 100% choc shakes and bars. Which can't really be a good thing for re-educating my tastebuds!

Any, ahem, movement downstairs yet noswing??

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 09/01/2014 10:32

Well done for getting this far MrsB
I'm on Day 9 and I've lost 9lb in total. Once you get through the first week it's fairly easy.
To keep myself on track I've bought some nice treats in the sales. They're things I wouldn't usually treat myself to. For every 2 weeks I stay on the plan, I get a treat. may bring that down to every week when the weight loss slows though. This week's 9lb is motivation enough to carry me through next week Grin

I've got loads of energy today too.

Keep at it.

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 09/01/2014 10:35

For 'movement downstairs' I can recommend glycerin suppositories. You can get them from the chemist. Pop one up, wait 15 mins and bob's your whatsit - job done.

Sadly, the week's worth I managed yesterday didn't show on the scales this morning. Sad

Cheesyslice · 09/01/2014 14:26

Ughhhh I am still SO hungry. To the point where today I'd had a hot vanilla shake at 7am, bar at 10am and soup by 12pm. Jesus. I'm now so starving that I'm going to M&S for a chicken salad and then will just have to have bugger all tonight.

I've been back on track for three and a half days now...COME ON KETOSIS!

pink I love the shepherd's pies. I mix them with peas and soy sauce freak

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 09/01/2014 15:15

Try waiting as long as possible before you start to eat in the day. I read that on a 5:2 thing and it works for me. I've just had my breakfast and only because I made myself - not because I was hungry. Once I start eating in the day, I find it triggers the hunger though so I'll be hungry before 5pm.

Cheesyslice · 09/01/2014 15:57

You wait until 15:00 for breakfast? Do you stay in bed all day until then?!

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 09/01/2014 17:00

No I work in an office 3 days a week and today I've cleaned my whole house properly for the first time in months and chopped up 2 big christmas trees for recycling. I'm feckin knackered now though but I think that's more because I'm 13 weeks post abdominal hysterectomy rather than because of the diet.

I've just got over the nasty first bit of the diet I think.
