Welcome one and all to The New Thread !

Results for me on Slim and Save 10 weeks = 42 pounds!

:o

Week 11 is looking rubbish for me, but I have been (and continue to be actually) poorly.

Come and make yourselves comfy...

YY Lauren. Im not a mum but an ex neighbour of mine who is a mum said the same when she got gallstones. She said she would rather go through 3 labours than 3 attacks of gallstones. It is fucking excrutiating.

Looking for some advice.

The good bit it is I'm into week 5, 25lbs down, really motivated and focused.

The bad bit is I've just found out I need a further operation following a very rough forceps delivery 11 weeks ago.

I've been put to the top of the list and will be having it on 5 August. I'll be having a general anaesthetic.

Gutted doesn't cover it. I really don't want this and sobbed when I was told I needed it.

I also don't want to lose my momentum. I know what I'm like, if I'm forced to come off the diet I'll do it with a bang.

Does anyone have any experience of operations whilst on slim and save? Both the build up? Would I be ok going under? And the recovery? I know I'm going to be put in antibiotics straight away to ward off infection.

Oh Sassee, what a bastardish thing to happen. I think it might be worth calling their live help on Monday morning and asking the experts. I hope that you are still getting to enjoy your lovely baby.

Well done though, 25lbs is an amazing result!

Sassee so sorry this is happening to you when you are doing so well. There have been 2 people in the LL class who have had surgery and had to stop LL about a week before and start again about 8 weeks after. I know they won't let you join if you have had surgery in the past 12 weeks. Really think you need to contact them to make sure. Loads of luck.

So, I had a sneeky weigh in this morn and I've lost 7lbs - in 3 days woohoo so happy Grin . Feeling motivated and excited to see how the rest of the week goes. Def helps me face the weekly grocery shop, was so not looking forward to that.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Hi all, looking some advice, I'm almost at the end of week 3, week 4 starting Monday and after loosing 14 the first week, 4 the second week I have lost nothing this week.
I am mostly doing soule source, I do soule source plus at weekends, my cons said weight loss is the same on both.
Why have I not lost this week? It's not totm and I am still drinking tons of water?
I'm getting really scared that it will stay like this now.

Don't panic NornIron. Week three is notorious for being stall week both on vlcd and on low carb.

I repeat Don't Panic! :o

Just keep going and it will shift again next week and the week after. The rate of loss does tend to slow down but you won't be on that plateau forever, promise!

Thanks scone, my cons said the same. I have 6 to go before my hols, and 19 days to do it. I hope I do it as I have tried so hard.
Do u think I will lose in week 4? Has this happened to anyone else on Cambridge?
How is everyone doing?

I know I am really happy as I put it on after stopping smoking and breaking my leg and ankle in 3 places and getting surgery to get a lot of metal in.
I used to train 4 times per week, but at the min it's sore to even walk. It's i my been 18 weeks though and I'm hoping that improves too. X

Also wanted to ask, has anyone used raspberry keystones while doing a vlcd? Was thinking that might kick start me again?

On day 4 now. It is getting easier although I struggle when the kids go to bed, all I can think about is food. Even on TV every advert is about food!!

Had a sneaky weigh this morning and I've lost 7lb. Very very happy with this :D

SconeInSixtySeconds · 08/07/2013 11:12

Well done Lauren, it does get easier as you keep going! And 7lbs is terrific!

NornIron, I have no experience with the raspberry things I am afraid, but I do know that if you just keep trucking as you are that you will lose next week.

Can I just sidle in here, I'm going to start exante this week, my packs arrived today and I will start on Thursday or Friday so when ketosis kicks in I won't be at work.

I lost 5 stone on LL 5 years ago but put it all back on and then some, I've lost 3 stone of that but I have stalled. I could do with losing at least 5 stone, if not 7 but I shall assess as I go along. I'm hoping the packs taste nice because with ll I could at least swap them if they were disgusting.

Hi everyone - welcome MrsPnut. This heat is killing me - I so should have been an Eskimo!

Anyway, still on packs and feeling good. I took the plunge and ordered a week of Slim & Save which arrived this afternoon. I tried the Lemon Spritz first - which was very refreshing in this heat. I had lunch of a Cookie & Cream milkshake. I'm not a fan of frothy milk but I put a lot of crushed ice in and drank it through a straw and it was yummy. So happy I found this forum and have the chance to try something new. Planning on having either Chili or Cheesy Pasta for dinner and oh I can't wait for the choc/coconut bar after the kids are in bed!

Lauren well done = great start Smile

Norn I think 18lbs is amazing already! There is only so much weight your body can possibly loose and I think if you stick with the packs you will get great results.

How's everyone else doing?

Right, I am having to stop a few days early as I have just totally fucked my back. Can hardly move and it is scaring my dd as I keep crying as it hurts so much. So I am having some toast and alcohol to get me through the evening.

I will come back and see how you are all doing, so don't get disheartened and naughty! I will be back in early August to start again.

Scone I posted earlier; it disappeared?
Hope you are ok and have good pain relief? I used tramadol after my op, it was all that worked, though couldn't look after dc with it. Enjoy your well deserved toast and wine. I can't wait to have a glass/bottle.
How is everyone doing? First day of week 4 here, hoping to get a woosh soon.

Hi everyone
Please can I join? I started LL on Thursday 4th July. I have 8stone 9lb to lose! Since reading this thread I decided to investigate sns, it seems much better - loads more choice and pounds cheaper. My sns arrive tomorrow - i cant wait! I decided to swap (was due to start the classes this week, so had only paid membership and one week packs thank goodness). By my scales I have lost 13lb so far - hoping for over a stone by Wednesday. So I guess I now have 7stone 10lb to lose. That sounds so much better Grin

I have previously lost 13 stone with a gastric bypass in feb 2000. However 4 children later I have put 8 back on. So it just proves that surgery isn't the easy answer - determined not to let myself go any further.

It has been really helpful reading this and the previous thread. Thank you and I look forward to sharing the journey.

Hi Katy, welcome! You will get there much quicker than you think I bet. You have almost done the first week which is the hardest, so you will sail by now.
Lol at scone, enjoy your wee drink and have one/several for me.
I just keep thinking of my first glass of chilled rose in 17 days.

Lol scone, you're even slurring your text.

Welcome to Katey and MrsPnut. I started 8 weeks ago with Exante. I found the first 3 weeks easy (after first 2 or 3 days), until week 4 when I had to eat an evening meal each day which turned into 3 weeks of eating an evening meal every day. However I then discovered the slim and save evening meals and I've been on track for 4 weeks, although I do go out for dinner or have a BBQ weekends.

I lost 1 3/4lb this week, totalling 25 3/4lb in 8weeks. I want to lose 2 1/4lb next week to give me a 2st loss in 2 calendar months.

Thank you Nornironmum - have found today really hard. Lots of cakes out at work! But keep thinking of getting into some nice clothes and having more energy!

Well done on your loss MyJellyBean - that's brilliant.
