Woohoo Grin my cheeky midweek weigh in paid off as I've lost another 3lbs which makes 13lbs total in 11 days.

Makes it all seem worth it Smile

Hope everyone's doing okay today

Cheesyslice · 16/11/2013 13:03

Great news mycatoscar! I'm trying desperately to wean myself off the daily weigh ins...easier said than done!

Charles I like the porridge too. Would you judge me if I said I particularly enjoy the skin which forms on the top as it's cooling...? Blush

Jantutor · 16/11/2013 18:46

Cheesy wash your mouth out with soap ... Porridge and skin in the same sentence is soooooooo wrong in my opinion!

Well done Cat - I get weighed on Wednesday so will post my results then. I'm being good and trying only to weigh at weekly weigh-in's.

I'm so happy to have found this thread - Vlcd can be a lonely experience - so thanks to all of you Grin

Jantutor · 16/11/2013 18:48

Charles when do you weigh in next? Keep at it- it'll be worth it in the end!

CharlesRyder · 16/11/2013 19:29

Well done cat!

Not sure about being particularly fond of the skin Cheesy that might just be you. Grin

Mondays are my weigh-ins, which I think is good as it will keep me focussed over the weekend!

mycatoscar · 16/11/2013 19:47

I weighed myself every day in week one lol Grin so was quite impressed at myself waiting 3/4 days! But yes I must resist the urge as obviously I won't be losing every day now I'm into week 2.

walkinghaphazardlybystarlight · 16/11/2013 20:14

I lost 6lbs, so 10lbs in 2 weeks on Cambridge. I have been 100% throughout, I am struggling tonight with emotional hunger but determined to resist.

Cheesyslice · 16/11/2013 21:33

I had a really tough day today. All I could think about was bloody food. Didn't cave, but feel shite this evening. Hormones.

walkinghaphazardlybystarlight · 16/11/2013 22:18

Same, cheesey but I know if I break I'll just feel crap tomorrow.

CharlesRyder · 17/11/2013 09:34

I think weekends are tough- everybody else hanging around grazing.

Anybody made a plan for Christmas yet?

walkinghaphazardlybystarlight · 17/11/2013 19:04

Christmas is tricky.

My Dad was meant to be coming up on Christmas Day and staying over, but he has decided to stay with his partner on the day itself, and come to me on Boxing Day. That'll be nice, but it does mean I'll be on my own for the day itself Sad I think food might be something nice I can do for me on the day! But, it would be more sensible to JUST eat on Boxing Day.

I will have a think!

Jantutor · 17/11/2013 19:35

Walking,

Before meeting hubby I used to love spending Christmas by myself. My mum hated it and always tried to organise things so that I had company - but I resisted all the way! I guess you can tell that, I'm not a Christmas person. I'm still not, but have a 5 yr old so I do try to make an effort (and it is an effort).

Whatever you do, I hope you'll be happy Smile

walkinghaphazardlybystarlight · 17/11/2013 19:55

Thanks Jantutor! I'm used to it, which is a bit pathetic and a good thing at the same time! I'm OK with it really but I think the combination of Christmas alone and no food may push me over the edge and I'd feel sorry for myself!

So I might eat Blush

At least I'll be able to watch Corrie without my dad trying to understand the plot Grin (He normally says, "Is he STILL in it!" about William Roache - won't be saying that now I suppose!)

angelinterceptor · 18/11/2013 14:16

I am only one lb off this week - but considering that included a long weekend away in London with my DD, including good food - I am fairly happy.

I have one more 'dinner' kind of thing to attend at the end of Nov, but other than that, I am going to try to re-focus until Christmas, then kind of ease off during the holidays.

and then, see where I am at New Year.

I am still getting negative support from friends who know I am on diet, but just not this particular VLCD. Its frustrating hearing them

"oh but you are just going to put it all back on when you stop dieting"
"what exactly are you eating? is it enough"
"what, you're not having a drink, not just one?"

FFS, I am trying to lose weight - that means I have to eat less than I used to. Of course, I realise the hard part is when I have lost the weight and have to start more normal eating again.

rant over - good luck everyone else, this thread is a big help to me and I am sure everyone else.

I am just a few lbs away from 2 stones off, which I will be very proud of, even if none of my RL friends could be.

CharlesRyder · 19/11/2013 06:41

I was 7.5lb down. The joys of week 1!

That is rubbish of your friends angel. I suppose the best you can do is really enjoy proving them wrong! Grin

summerbreezer · 19/11/2013 20:49

Well done Charles! That is rubbish about Christmas, Walking. Do what works for you - if you want to have one day of eating, go for it, as long as you know you can get yourself back on track again. Have you thought about volunteering on the day itself? Keep you busy and not thinking about food possibly?

4lbs down for me this week - BMI very nearly 30! Almost overweight!

Cheesyslice · 20/11/2013 07:02

I've hit a plateau. I haven't cheated. Once.

Someone tell me the weight will start coming off again soon. Sad

Cheesyslice · 20/11/2013 07:03

Well done summer. That's fab. Healthier AND slimmer. Grin

mycatoscar · 20/11/2013 08:30

Those are brilliant losses! I too am looking forward to being 'overweight' Grin but my bmi is still 33 so got a way to go yet.

I'm off work today, my voice started disappearing yesterday about 11am and is now completely gone, I'm a teacher so not really able to teach today. I'm really achey and very tired too but no sore throat which is weird!

I have the dreaded nurse appointment tomorrow where she will weigh me. Last time I went I'd put on 4kg. I'm really hoping I've lost enough to stop her being snooty at me and enough for her to be happy to give me my pill too.

summerbreezer · 20/11/2013 08:49

Cheesy - sorry about to hear you've hit a plateau. Is it a several week one? My LLC told me to consider weight loss in four week blocks - your body may just need a rest for a week before getting rid of the next tranche of fat!

Another thing is exercise - I hear that can really kickstart things again.

I was going to say I hope the weight loss starts again - but I don't hope, I KNOW it will do!

Mycat Hope you feel better soon. I hate snooty nurses particularly when they often have problems with their weight themselves You're a stone down now, I think you can hold your head up high!

Good luck today everybody. It is freezing in London - lots of black coffee for me!

Cheesyslice · 20/11/2013 18:01

Thank you summer, you're a love. I know it will start again soon, I am being so bloody good it's frustrating me that I've hit a wall. T if I've come this far I can keep going and I know the weight WILL shift soon. It's my time of the month (is that the correct MN terminology?!) so I think it's that. I've also been a bit bunged up. I hope you all enjoyed that information share Grin

mycat Good luck with the nurse, let us know how you get on and I hope your voice gets better soon.

In other news, I put on a blazer yesterday and it was miles too big for me. Looked ridiculous. It was a Zara 'large' size (14/16) so I'm pleased with that. Little things...

How is everyone else doing?

walkinghaphazardlybystarlight · 20/11/2013 20:57

Cheesey I love it when your clothes don't fit! Grin

Well, I'm on day 20 of the diet and so, so proud of myself :) Hope to lose 3lbs this week (weigh in Friday.)

Jantutor · 20/11/2013 21:44

Hi All,

Cambridge counsellor has just left and guess what I've lost 11.4lbs in my first week!!! Yay!!!! Marvellous and I spent yesterday baking 2 14x14 inch fruit cakes for Christmas! So happy!

Cheesy you might find that the weight isn't moving but that you've had inch loss. There are all sorts of reasons this happens including, menstrual cycle, water retention and muscle growth. My friend plateaued for 3 weeks, went to see her counsellor to explain why she was leaving the programme. After spending half an hour trying to reassure my friend, the counsellor had all but given up and my friend was halfway through the door, when counsellor asked her to step on the scale for the last time. Guess what 1stone 3lbs off!! How is that possible???? My friend is now a size 10 and loving her new found figure! You've done really well (Zara large is sooooo small) so don't give up!

Walking congratulations on making it to day 20! I'm sure you'll hit the 3lb - look forward to hearing.

Charles I really am so happy for you and hope week 2 is going as well as the first

Summer your loss is impressive - my goal is to do 4lb a week for the next 4 weeks - does it get easier after week 1?

Mycat the nurse obviously isn't a nice person and must be quite insecure if she spends her time looking down on people- there's a word for people like her but not in polite company Grin

All of you, Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration and support Thanks

Cheesyslice · 21/11/2013 07:18

walking well done on day 20, when we all start these things it seems like such a long journey but when you look back at how long you've been on it for, it feels amazing.

Thanks for the kind words, jan. I got on the scales this morning and I've lost 2 lbs since weigh in on Monday. Woohoo! It must have just been my period. Fucking hormones. I'm 11st 2.5 now. I'm 5ft 6 so only 2.5lbs away from being a healthy BMI and no longer overweight. That will be a first since about four years ago.

jan Just to say that 11.4lbs is INCREDIBLE. Have you picked up something which weighs that much? Do it. Find a small baby or something Grin Yes it does get ever, I found after week two I was cooking on gas (so to speak).

Got friends coming to stay this weekend. Not bothered about the eating challenges - I'll just stick rigidly to the plan, but really can't be arsed with explaining to them that I'm on LL.

Cheesyslice · 21/11/2013 07:19

I meant it does get easier. Not ever. Pissing iPad.
