Welcome one and all to The New Thread !

Results for me on Slim and Save 10 weeks = 42 pounds!

:o

Week 11 is looking rubbish for me, but I have been (and continue to be actually) poorly.

Come and make yourselves comfy...

Can I join? I am about to start on Slim and Save (just waiting for trail packs to come through).

Not sure what to expect - will it be just shakes and bars or do they include low cal meal packs too?

IShallWearMidnight · 11/11/2013 09:00

have read the info properly now - Week 13 on a total meal replacement plan needs 1 pint of milk, 2 pieces of fruit and 300g of vegetables per day as well as the packs, which should keep you in ketosis. I was misremembering from my Cambridge days years back when I think it was "eat properly for a week".

(this is S&S btw, others may be slightly different, but all should have Week 13 guidance apparently)

Cheesyslice · 11/11/2013 16:12

That's interesting. LL doesn't work like that - much to my disgust! Grin

I keep fantasising about Big Macs.

Weigh in tonight...still all blimpy and farty. How lovely.

summerbreezer · 11/11/2013 23:24

Welcome all. Good luck with your weigh in, Cheesy (Your nickname makes me think of lovely gooey cheese...mmmmm).

Jealous of those who get actual food on Week 13 rather than just a bit of milk (although I am looking forward to milk in my coffee again...if only for one week!)

I had a bit of a blip - made flapjacks and ate two. WHY can't I just stay in control? Arghhh. Maybe I need to put the baking on hold for a bit. Still, at least I kept it to just two. Usually it would have been at least seven.

Weigh in tomorrow...

mycatoscar · 12/11/2013 07:03

Week 1 done and I've lost 10lbs Grin

Nav84 · 12/11/2013 16:47

Day 1 I'm feeling sick with the soup HeLp????

walkinghaphazardlybystarlight · 12/11/2013 18:30

Hi ladies (and any gents!) - I'm here, due for my second weigh-in on Friday.

I knew I'd been gaining weight throughout 2013 really - 3 and a half stone Blush putting me at 14 stone 3lbs. At 5'2 inches, that is a LOT and I am really angry with myself I let it happen.

I lost 4lbs my first week, taking me to 13 stone 13lbs, and due to be weighed a second time Friday. I really am secretly hoping for a 5 or even 6lbs loss but it will happen when it happens. My wardrobe is full of size 10/12 clothes I can't wear, I look so huge and puffy and bloated and my knee was starting to really hurt me.

Sore knee has already stopped!

I have been 100% so far and this is day twelve :)

walkinghaphazardlybystarlight · 12/11/2013 18:35

mycat - that's AMAZING! 10lbs - wow! I'd be made up if I lost that on Friday! Grin

I should have added, I'm doing Cambridge. I did it when I left university and lost 2 stone, but that was 10 years ago and now I have 4 stone to lose - arghh! I know it works and I can stick to it easily though :)

Cheesyslice · 12/11/2013 21:32

Evening all. Got my first stone last night! BOOM! Taking the three pounds I lost just before starting LL I'm now 17lbs down in four weeks. Very chuffed. Set a new goal of shifting another stone by Xmas which will see me at 10st 5lbs which is what I was at uni...fingers crossed. I'm pretty confident; four weeks in and I haven't slipped up once. I'm dead chuffed.

mycatoscar That's AMAZING. Awesome. Bet you feel fab.

Summer At least it was only two! We're all human, are you back on track now?

Jantutor · 13/11/2013 00:07

Hi all,

Very pleasant and inspirational thread!

I meet my CD counsellor tomorrow night and will start on Thursday - exactly 5 weeks before my holiday. I have 4.5-5 stone to lose. Hope to lose 1.5 by 19 December??????

I'll definitely be on here boring you with the minute details of my very dull life.

Bye for now

summerbreezer · 13/11/2013 09:17

Hi Jan, welcome. You should definitely achieve that. Good luck! Bore away...

Well done on your stone Cheesy! It is always exciting to see that number. Light as you were at uni? For me, that would be the best Christmas present ever! Well done on not slipping up.

I'm only a pound down this week - but I'm OK with that. Even though I slipped up, I am much better at accepting that these things happen and am trying not to fall into "all or nothing thinking" - it is that that led me to gain weight in the first place.

I have lost 5cm from around my tummy (my real problem area, I am an extreme apple shape!) So pleased with that. Good luck today everyone. One day at a time and we will get there.

Jantutor · 13/11/2013 22:57

Hi Summer, thanks for the encouragement.

Just had meeting with counsellor - he was so knowledgeable and funny. He reckons I should do really well in 5 weeks. I'm inspired and will diarise my antics here.

Good luck everyone. 6,weeks to Christmas - what difference will your vlcd make?

mycatoscar · 14/11/2013 09:17

Anyone else have an upset tummy on a vlcd? I don't feel unwell but did have to rush to the loo this morning.

PerditaMcLeod · 14/11/2013 10:19

Hello, another VCLDer signing in!

I started Exante last Monday and when i weighed myself in this morning I had lost 12lbs!! Still got another 2.5 stone to go and I know it won't go as quickly as the first 12lbs, but I feel really inspired to keep going.

Good luck ladies!

angelinterceptor · 14/11/2013 11:30

Forgot to log in on Monday with results - stayed the same, no loss.

But, I had two celebrations at the weekend, with 'normal' eating, so I am not too disappointed.
This week I only have 4 days on SnS and then have a planned weekend to London, so again difficult to stay on plan.

Back to proper SnS and ketosis next week hopefully

Jantutor · 14/11/2013 11:47

Hi Perdita,

Congratulations 12lb - what an amazing massive boost!

It's day 1 for me. I have 4stone 3 - 5 stone 3 to lose.

Brilliant CD counsellor came last night, he's very informative and I will stick to the plan come what may as I fly away for Christmas on 19th December and would be ecstatic if I could lose 2 dress sizes, which he said was possible on sole source.

Stay positive folks - just envision yourself in that special outfit - must go tummy's rumbling - porridge I think ...

Cheesyslice · 14/11/2013 12:54

Summer that's part of my problem too. When i was on WW/SW I got obsessed with how much I was losing per week. I think it's the result of the 'queue up, jump on the scales' large group thing. But LL has taught me to look at what I'm losing over the month. Last couple of weeks I took two pounds off per week and was a bit pissed off...but then I had a 4lb loss last week which got me to my stone. The group helped me stay positive when I thought I wasn't losing enough per week.

Welcome Jan How are you feeling today? If you're peckish just keep going and drink tons of water - it will pass and then disappear once you get into ketosis

Angel that's good considering you had two days of normal eating.

I tried my christmas party dress on today - it's a black one with lace shoulders and it looks fab...squeee! Hopefully by Christmas I won't have to wear a cardigan over it to cover up my lumpy hips Grin

summerbreezer · 14/11/2013 20:00

Yay, the thread is getting active again!

Cheesy, so excited about the dress! I bet you feel amazing! By your Christmas party, you will feel even more amazing!

I have already got people telling me I've "lost too much". It's ridiculous - I am still in the "obese" category and have at least 3 stone to go to be where I want to be.

I wonder sometimes if my friends felt a bit more comfortable around me when I was larger - because Summer was the big girl, they felt better about themselves? Now I am thinner, more confident and generally happier, I am wondering if they perceive me as a bit of a threat to them.

Mycat - I didn't have an upset tummy, but I think it is generally part of your body adjusting to a new regime. If you are anything like me, you were filling up with all kinds of crap.

Then you just stop and give your body exactly what it needs! It was very much a shock to my system not to be full of sugar and salt and alcohol. Give it a couple of days, it should calm down.

walkinghaphazardlybystarlight · 14/11/2013 20:48

I am on day 14 (weigh in tomorrow) of Cambridge and have been 100% throughout. I am very proud although I know I have a LONG way to go Sad

summerbreezer · 15/11/2013 07:40

Well done Walking. That is wonderful!

We are all the same - us people with issues with our weight. On one hand, we know we have done well at something, but we cannot feel universally pleased with ourselves. We simply must beat ourselves up for still having a long way to go!

What is done is done. What is important is that you are taking steps to change it now, and you will get there. Congratulations.

mycatoscar · 15/11/2013 17:25

Arghh feel really rubbish today, haven't had an upset tummy again but feel achey and yucky. Then a dominos leaflet came through the door - the bastards! Trying to tempt me when I'm down Grin

Determined to do this though and wonder if this is my body readjusting to not having crap fed to it on a daily basis.

Might do a midweek weigh in tomorrow as I definitely feel slimmer and my jeans now do up without me having to dance around the room Smile. Need to cling to that tonight I think.

Going to have a spag Bol meal pack while dd has her dinner and then watch life of pi to distract me this evening.

How's everyone else's Friday going?

Hi All

I'm on day 2 and so far so good. Of course I want all of the things I didn't actually want when I was eating- but drink loads of water to combat the feelings. Great advice from Cheesyslice!

I'm determined to stick to SS 100% although councillor did say a bit of straight protein would only have a marginal impact On weight loss. But I'd rather do it straight 100%.

By the way, what is it with the apple/cinnamon and maple/pecan porridge??? I almost passed out - the smell and taste is vile. Loving the shakes and lactose free mushroom soup (yum)!

Treated myself to a bag today (premature I know) ... Reduced from £245 to £19 because of a mark that took 5 minutes to remove - I'm well chuffed!

Stay well and positive ladies and a thousand thanks for the support

:-)

Jantutor · 15/11/2013 21:16

Counsellor not councillor Blush

CharlesRyder · 16/11/2013 07:25

Hello!

Jan I thought I'd check in here as I'm just starting day 5 of a return to LL. It worked really well last time I did it but have had a long lapse with a baby and some stress in it so all the good work is undone. I thought we could egg each other on as we're at about the same place.

I've been fine so far because I've been at work and too busy to think. Being at home with DH and DS today will be more of a challenge. I know there will be a cafe to face this morning!

The LL apple & cinnamon porridge is pretty good, I prefer the plain porridge though. Porridge in general is a revelation as now it feels like there is a proper breakfast to eat which I did think was missing before.

Good luck today to all!!
