Welcome to thread 12 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting in your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer clothes!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry ~ NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get into a smaller size for summer, just think how we could look for next Christmas!

Hi BB Grin

Solo · 16/08/2013 14:25

Hi all! How are you all doing?
I'm going to start listening again soon. I want to get another 21lbs off before I turn 50 in March. I also want to keep it off.

I was assaulted at work yesterday, so recovering at home atm. Neck, shoulders, back and thumb pad all sprained, bruised and battered! but I'm ok. Stinking headache though.

Oh no, I hope your okay Solo. Will you be taking some time off work to recover?

Only listened to CD once this week and i'm away overnight for a friends birthday but i can feel i've put weight on again. Really need to get on track next week otherwise i'll be exploding!

Rules · 16/08/2013 20:21

Sorry to hear about that Solo. Does make you think that your definitely doing the right thing taking redundancy though. Almost like a big sign telling you to go. Shock

veryberrybug · 16/08/2013 23:48

hello everyone

pp thanks for the turmeric heads up - i thought i'd just be hedgehog tum for a day but when it lasted longer & no appetite ShockShockShock i got on the case & made the "golden milk" turmeric drink with oil & almond milk (couldny face just oil ) ....& lo & behold, after a couple of hours tum back to normal!! cheers girl! GrinGrinGrin also looked up water retention cures on earth clinic (been tender busty bertha beyond joke - when it interferes with zumba it's time for action!!) & duly sent DP out for dandelion tea (his shop is next door to real foods shop so very handy!) still had salt on me chips though Blush

nice to hear your mealtime progress pudding i love how you still managed it in company. i find i often mirror the eating speeds of those around me (fatal with DP as his doesny touch the sides on the way down!) now i always warm my plate so i don't have cold second half of dinner, though what i'd really like is one of these tealight keeper-warmer arrangements i saw once in an indian restaurant: simple yet effective metal tray with mesh on top & tealight under your pot of hot & saucy curry Wink LOL i didny mean that when i typed it haha

oohnoo solo that sounds horrible, it may be an occupational hazard but nonetheless shit Sad
that's good you've got a concrete goal of your birthday, have you lost at a predictable rate before? i only ask because whenever i've set myself time-limited weightloss goals before i've always failed to meet the target... but that was before i started Pauling?? HmmConfused i have a goal bu i'm fiert to put a date on it... is this chickening out? Blush

bbb hi & curse technology. i've missed your musings Smile

ppeatfruit · 17/08/2013 09:50

Morning all hello BBB hope you had good holyers Grin

solo that's effing awful you poor thing Shock Sad have you got any arnica? That's brill for shock and bruising.

I'm pleased that the turmeric worked for you very it may help water retention too! I love nettle for detoxing too.

Solo · 17/08/2013 16:52

I'm ok. Still breathing at any rate!

Yes, will be glad to go, but sad too...

I think I may have some Arnica somewhere, but it's ooooooooooold!

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 17/08/2013 17:28

Doesn't matter sols take a lot!!

Solo · 18/08/2013 12:26

I gave my Arnica pastilles away, but I think I still have my ancient ointment somewhere!!!

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 18/08/2013 13:13

The ointment is good even the homeopathic pills work well IME (thoughI know there's a prejudice against anything homeo on here!!!).

So are you on sick leave then? I should effing hope so!

Solo · 18/08/2013 13:45

Yes, on sick leave for at least a week. If I can't grip properly, I can't open doors. I also need to be able to move my neck properly without pain.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 18/08/2013 15:26

Is there going to be a court case? It sounds awful Sad

QueenOfHalloween · 18/08/2013 21:15

I really hope you pick up quickly Solo. How long do you have left before you leave your role?

I have had an extremely indulgent weekend as i went to a friends birthday and we had an BBQ in the afternoon and then went to a really nice Thai restaurant in Skipton. The weekend has involved a lot of drinking! I shall be listening to PM tonight before bed so should be back on the PM wagon from tomorrow. Really need to get some distance between my stomach and my trousers otherwise i fear they may split at some point when i sit down!

Hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend.

veryberrybug · 18/08/2013 22:02

hello everyone
pp i'm bigtime in favour of homeopathy, so you are not alone Wink i can never cease to be amazed at how well it works! swear by it.

i too have had a good weekend, it was worth getting up with a hangover this morning as we went down to moffat for the annual sheep racing!! turned out to be a great family day out Grin

noticed dinner wasny vg last night... because i wasny hungry. listening more often to the CD is really helping me to focus more, & happily the more i focus the easier it becomes to hear my body's messages. each time i waver a bit then get back on it, it seems to come back to me easier than before, which is comforting because a) it means that neural pathway is becoming reinforced, & b) it means i don't have the same mountain to climb as when it was all new! hurrah!

Rules · 18/08/2013 22:45

Well done very I'm sooo glad you didn't give up.

QueenOfHalloween · 18/08/2013 22:59

Sounds like you're doing really well Very

Solo · 18/08/2013 23:10

Don't know pp I think the Police are taking it on as some of us were hurt badly :( but in order for us to get 'proper' compensation, we have probably got to take out a private prosecution and I for one, cannot afford to do so.

Queen I go in 6 weeks

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 19/08/2013 11:24

Morning all Grin Solo I don't know if you're able to talk about it on here but was it a big incident involving a number of officers? I don't remember hearing anything on the news Hmm

very WRF to the going off yr food it's funny; you start eating something really delicious and then it starts to taste horrible weird isn't it?

It's nice to talk to someone with an open mind about alternatives very Grin I heard Ben Goldacre on Saturday talking about the huge pharma companies who have deliberately 'hidden' results of a lot of their research for many years if it is negative for them and putting patients at risk in the process. It's effing disgraceful when so many people trust the medics. implicitly.

Hello rules good holyers? How's the P.M.ing going?

Queen The beauty of this is you can just get back in the saddle if you've been over doing things; I've had one of those sociable weekends so need to get back to muffin busting exercises and P.M.ing more conscientiously too!

BigBoobiedBertha · 19/08/2013 13:08

Hello,

Sounds like everybody is doing OK even if there are some overindulgences. That's OK - 'normal' eaters do that too from time to time. At least we recognise them and can do something about it without too much guilt, right? Smile

Still not caught up with myself. Had new broadband fitted today so only posting to see if it is indeed faster. Blush

The phone line is knackered now though (long story - should have had it fixed a while ago but didn't), but washing machine is fixed. House is a tip - major clear out in progress. I have realised that we have never thrown out any toys, ever. DS1 is 13. Blush

Our house can't cope any more. Problem is, we are at the 'getting worse before it gets better' stage.

Oh and the keyboard on the computer seems to be misbehaving now. I fiddled with the wireless connector and it seems to have gone on a go slow. Bloody computers.

Solo - hope you recover quickly and the 6 weeks passes quickly too and you can move on to the new improved next stage of your life.Smile

BigBoobiedBertha · 19/08/2013 13:09

Oh yes, posting was faster. Grin Just a shame the keyboard can't keep up with the new high-speed me. Hmm

ppeatfruit · 19/08/2013 14:33

Hello BBB your keyboard sounds like mine ! Have you got an eMac? Grin Did you read that a storm put out all our BB technology for weeks! Luckily it was the telephone line which is now repaired so we're faster too!

veryberrybug · 19/08/2013 14:46

LOL bbb you're funny Grin can i pretend to be the sage old wifey who annoys you by saying "ooh, but you cany make an omlette without cracking eggs"(house mess) or "well, you can't have everything"(effing compooter) heheh. oor hoose is also a hideous mess, i realised that last time it got this full we were in a 1-bedroom flat & we moved! don't fancy moving again though so it'll have to be a clearout, spurred on by DD1s consistent requests for a room swap. both double rooms but ours is bigger. bless, she's even measured & made scale models to demonstrate how we'll fit stuff in!! bigger room has potential for a line of biohazard warning gaffa tape across middle in case they start teen-wars! (i cany wait Wink)

pp it's a blooming scandal right enough, honestly it scares the bejabers out of me how many people in companies apparently have no morals Hmm when i was wee we moved over the border because my dad had to get a new job: he walked out of roche pharmaceuticals after loads of arguing because they wouldny test stuff for long enough for it to be clearly safe, they just wanted to bang it out on the market & make money. last week my organic vegbox farm sent out a newsletter including GM cover-up info as the toxins from weedkiller are found in 7/10 londoners' pee, & cancer rates go up from 1 in 3 to 1 in 2...Shock

rules & queen thanks for the positive comments Smile foolishly i ignored my "don't fancy cereal" message this morning because i couldny think what else to have but felt i should have something before heading out... subsequently felt sick as a dog & honestly thought i'd never want to eat again! that'll teach me!

queen it's monday (your start again day) how's it going?
