Welcome to thread 12 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting in your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer clothes!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry ~ NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get into a smaller size for summer, just think how we could look for next Christmas!

puddingprincess · 14/08/2013 17:57

hiiiii :) it was mini mins lol oh well their loss!hehe xx

Rules · 14/08/2013 18:12

I don't have bugs for long....good strong immune system Grin

QueenOfHalloween · 14/08/2013 20:09

Hello PuddingPrincess Been having a nosy around your Facebook page. Nice work. Minimins are getting really arsey about what they have on their site. I responded to a post someone had made about wanting to start a juice detox after watching the Documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and afterwards i received a private message from them requesting that we ceased discussing the documentary as it wasn't a diet they advocated???? They even edited the posts and put "" in place of the words! They also served a banning order on another person i know on Facebook because she asked if anyone had tried a new type of VLCD. She was banned for 2 weeks! Can't believe they banned you for life though.... Seems a slight over reaction!

veryberrybug · 14/08/2013 22:03

hello everyone!

yes pp i was away, nice time at ILs but glad to get back to my normal! skool started today, aargh getting up was a shock though!

hope you're over the bug rules i've had hedgehog tummy today, but all my own doing. i wondered if i was more tolerant of wheat again as i hadny been farting like a trooper if i so much as looked at a crumb. but apparently i still amny, & of course i never just tested a wee bit, i went the whole hog (loaf!) Blush sigh but i totally agree it makes you tune in much more: for breakfast i just automatically had cereal & totally regretted it & att lunch listened & clearly wanted no carbs whatsoever Shock but enjoyed some mackerel stuck onto cucumber rounds with cream cheese & lots of lettuce! flush those hedgehogs away! braved some corncakes later (no carbs = hungry again soon) & better now i've shoogled my guts about at zumba!

& faith i hope DD is kipping more. when mines did that i would settle them, leave them wailing for 10 minutes having switched off the baby monitor, then switch it on again & check if they needed resettled. i found it much easier to be a heartless witch teach them to fall asleep themselves when i didn't have to listen to it twanging my heartstrings out one by one! "controlled crying" or whatever you like to call it is definitely easier the younger they are, the older they get the longer they can hold out!! Wink

pudding i'd a wee keek at your links to articles - interesting! especially for me having recently discovered intolerances to wheat & dairy! Shock what's all this being banned from forums malarky though? i don't do facebook etc so i'm wondering if there's some kind of forum etiquette?? why on earth couldn't you put a link/write about summat?

veryberrybug · 14/08/2013 22:08

ooh & queen what's a VLCD? how's you & your table of doom? i've got a bedroom like that which i really should sort now the kids are back at school, it's just a dumping ground but i cany be arsed Blush still i'm no as bad as them on program "hoarders" OMG!! Shock

there. that's a week's worth of posting in one go. shut up very Grin

QueenOfHalloween · 14/08/2013 22:45

Very VLCD means Very Low Calorie Diet so things like LighterLife, Cambridge Diet, Slim & Save, etc Table of doom is still terrible and i'm still off the wagon and eating everything not nailed to the ground! But then i didn't stick to my plan of listening to the CD very night and that is what worked for me last time so i'm going to listen to it tonight.

Are your kids back already Very? They don't go back till beginning of September here.

I assume the censorship on other sites is down to them not wanting people to advertise alternatives, etc? Your allowed to put a link to your personal Facebook that appears as a Facebook icon just under your profile picture but for some reason get annoyed when people post links in threads. They have the same rules regarding My Fitness Pal.

Did make me wonder how an eating plan can become an approved plan with them? And how on earth you are supposed to know if one isn't. Poor lass had only posted to see if anyone else had ever heard of them and if they were a reputable company and she got a two week ban.

puddingprincess · 15/08/2013 08:36

Thanku for the feedback of my fb page :) I've only got 3 likes :'( hehe only kidding that doesn't matter,it's actually really helping me just to write things down and have a resource to go back to when I need :) we had a takeaway with friends last night, its sort of like nando's but a local version and I usually have salad rice and chicken. Last night I still had that but also got some chips to share with my bf, and wow it was like I've never tasted chips before!! I usually eat the whole thing (almost all free on slimming world so wolf it back whilst I can!) but everything was different last night. I ate a few chips when I wanted and tasted every single one,ate bits of everything else i wanted, and finished way after everyone else but still had loads left! So much so my friends were asking if I didn't really like the chicken but didn't want to admit it! But i really was just full! And I haven't enjoyed a meal like that in forever! A very good and new experience, and I didn't feel bad afterwards because I knew I hadn't stuffed myself. Yay. Anyway just wanted to share that as I feel somewhat victorious! Lol hope everyone has a good day :) :) xx

puddingprincess · 15/08/2013 08:57

You may have already seen this but if not.... :) xx

msrisotto · 15/08/2013 08:58

Hi everyone. I'm new to this thread and have some questions, I hope that is ok!

I have read the book and listened to the CD once before (a few years ago) and it was good I think but I went back to old habits quickly. Is it best to listen to the CD regularly?

Also...I crave chocolate when i'm not hungry - I understand the very sensible concept of only eating when you are hungry but I will not be hungry for dessert which is my favourite bit! Blush Blush Blush How do you cope with that?

ppeatfruit · 15/08/2013 09:31

Good morningEveryone Grin nice to have a few more on here now!!!!

A big welcome to msrisotto Grin I must answer your question i have dessert as a meal the next time I feel hungry Grin Why not? I think it just shows how much the 3 course meal is responsible for over eating. When you're out it is more difficult to do but what i do is have a 2 course meal in a restaurant;you know a starter and main OR a main and dessert (depending on what 's on the menu).

pudding congratulations on 'getting it' !!!! I find i just can't eat cheap shxx choc. any more although TBH i never could the sugar content just removes all flavour for me.

very Have you tried taking turmeric as a remedy for your bad belly?

puddingprincess · 15/08/2013 09:36

Hi msrisotto!
Ppeatfruit that's such a good idea! I have been wondering the same as msrisotto as I do like to eat something sweet after a meal, last night I had a piece of chocolate that everyone else was eating and one was enough because I just told myself I can eat it whenever I like so no need to shovel loads of it down me! Lol oo a dessert as a meal I like it a lot!xx

ppeatfruit · 15/08/2013 10:01

Grin You obviously love puddings!! simple when you think about it! I sometimes fancy a pudding and custard because it's the only thing I liked from school dinners so I make a wheat free one with soya custard and really enjoy it on it's own !!!

KeepTheFaithBaby · 15/08/2013 10:30

pudding I can't find your FB page?

Welcome mrsrisotto. I listen to the CD pretty much every day to ensure its ingrained. I wait to see about pudding. Or I'll have a much smaller meal (like if you're out you could order a starter to come with everyone's mains or one of the light bite options) so I have room for pudding.

Our Abby is still sleep resistant in the day, although she's going down a bit earlier at night and sleeping decent amounts. I've bunged her in her swinging chair while I tidy round and she looks pretty sleepy so here's hoping! I seem to have pretty much broken the sugar cycle which I'm pleased about.

puddingprincess · 15/08/2013 11:07

KeepTheFaithBaby that's a good idea too, starter and dessert, there's always got to be dessert somewhere :) heheh

My facebook page is

www.facebook.com/pages/Thepuddingprincess/702119219801872

Let me know if that link works :) xx

Rules · 15/08/2013 12:05

Welcome mrsrisotto. I listen to the cd regularly at first then when I seem to be overeating for the sake of it, I might listen to it more. Regarding deserts, I don't really like them unless its a fresh fruit salad but when I go out for a meal I tend to just have a main course but don't usually end of finishing it. No starter and no pudding as not many places make their own puddings nowdays. So ill go home for a cup of tea and maybe a couple of squares of green and blacks.....my favourite Grin

QueenOfHalloween · 15/08/2013 14:58

Hello MrsRisotto I have to listen to the CD every night to help me stay on track. That's where i've failed before. I stopped listening to the track and then stopped following the golden rules properly and then it all went out of the window. Try listening to it every night to start with and then see how you feel it works best for you.

PuddingPrincess I can confirm i am one of your 3 likes.

Keep That is an excellent idea.

veryberrybug · 15/08/2013 15:09

helloooo! mmm just had a lovvely powernap to PMcKs soothing tones Wink

re: puddings, my sister (who's a size 6-8, but not painfully thin just very petite) who eats PmcK way instinctivvely, sometimes has a pudding-meal as pp said above. i noticed that later she naturally chose to have something light like salad & houmus for her tea, because that was all she fancied after homebaking scrum. she used to have thunder thighs but never did diets, just was a bit more conscious, et voilà!

re: chocolate cravings when not hungry; i get these too. try tapping it really worksSmile

i find listening to the CD regularly helps, sort of keeps it to the forefront of mind

pp how would i take turmeric? in water like a tea?

i'm so proud, i left half a sausage & egg roll at lunchtime, the full signal was so loud! still took me a few mouthfuls to be able to stop, but i did it. YEY!! Grin

ppeatfruit · 15/08/2013 16:20

very WRF to turmeric mix a couple of tspoons with the same of olive oil and take a tspoonful with a glass of water at every meal after you've had something you know you're not good with (it works like a dream) Also google Earth Clinic for more info and good references!! Though as I said to Rules there are some I'd run a mile from weird remedies on there as well

QueenOfHalloween · 15/08/2013 23:31

Ohhh is turmeric good for IBS? You can buy capsules from Holland and Barrett that you can either swallow or pop open and make it into a tea.

Speaking of weird remedies. I stumbled across the instructions for a salt flush yesterday whilst i was looking for digestive aids. Anyone you ever heard of it or tried one even? It sounds really harsh.

ppeatfruit · 16/08/2013 09:23

Morning All Grin Queen yes it's meant to be good for nearly everything. I would mix the ground spice with an oil you like because it makes it easier to assimilate and drink a tea or glass of water with it (it doesn't taste wonderful but it's bearable Grin).
