Welcome to thread 12 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting in your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer clothes!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry ~ NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get into a smaller size for summer, just think how we could look for next Christmas!

Thanks for the turmeric hint. I subscribe to Earth Clinic too. Great minds think alike hey?? Smile I have always bloated when eating bread and sometimes tummy used to swell up so big it was like a pregnancy. Im ok if I have a little bread once a day just not a whole day with wheat in. Also the ibs comes on a lot after stress of any kind so really need to work on that don't I.

www.naturalnews.com/
Do you like this one too pp

veryberrybug · 11/08/2013 21:28

im overjoyed that my tummy is still ok with spelt, it makes the best toast! i know it's wheat, but it's wheat in a much older form and basically before mankind buggered about with hybrids etc. i read that a lot of people who cannot tolerate wheat are ok with spelt as it's a simpler form.

pp where did you get the PM cd? i've heard of there being a set of several which are more specific but i've only ever had the "hypnotic induction" which came with ICMYT.

Rules · 11/08/2013 21:43

Yep your right very spelt is more tolerated but just wanted to be clear that true gluten intolerants cant have it.

ppeatfruit · 12/08/2013 09:07

Morning Grin yes to great minds Rules thanks for the link it looks very interesting indeed! I mentioned you because I got the impression that you were a stickler for the rules being as your name is Rules. Grin

veryberry You'll find that Kamut is good for you too if you can tolerate spelt ( I used to use Kamut flour for making my own bread and it's brilliant mixed with rice flour but our supplier has run out this year luckily they still make the bread!).
In my copy of Culpeper's herbal book it mentions wheat as being hard to digest (and rye being a better choice) in the 1640s for goodness sake they knew even that long ago!!!!Shock

I got the set of CDs when we went to the seminar. I'm not sure if they're even available now.

Hi newbie here! i have read this thread with lots of interest and havin been an avid dieter for the majority of my adult life, I really want to change my relationship with food and give paul mckenna's principles a try. I saw on earlier posts that someone did start a facebook page about their journey, and having read it i saw that she has also decided to try the 5:2 diet. Anyway i have also created a page where i aim to write about my experiences of both paul mckenna, beyond chocolate and exercise. just wanted to post incase anyone wants to take a look, its my first day but i intend to use it and hope it can help others too xx :) :)

puddingprincess · 12/08/2013 20:45

Ha I forgot to put the link! Oops! If u type 'thepuddingprincess' into the Facebook search bar my page will come up!:) xx

Hi pudding .....yes please....link me your facebook page. The lady who you are referring to with the pm facebook page "my journey" seems to have gone over to the dark side. Its a shame as she had lost a stone with pm (mindful eating) and had changed her attitude to food and stopped dieting but she decided that it wasn't quick enough for her and so seems to have started 5:2. Just had a look at that and she seems to be struggling with it and is changing the rules a lot. Thing is, that lady had said that she had an eating disorder and was finally accepting herself and stopped dieting all thanks to pm. Anyway.....look forward to chatting with you and will await your link. Smile

Rules · 12/08/2013 20:48

O Ok will have a look now.......

Rules · 12/08/2013 20:58

Im sure the other ladies will be along in due course to chat to you pudding. Love your little facebook page.

puddingprincess · 13/08/2013 10:29

Ahh thankyou rules :) :)
I really want to give this a good go! And whilst I want a good relationship with food I am really interested in why I do sometimes feel I have to eat something sweet after my main meal, and have cravings for junk. I've been reading around and the Zoe harcombe book comes up quite a lot,has anyone read it?- 'why do you overeat when all you want is to be slim?'
It's a shame for the lady who has begun the 5.2 after trying to follow the Paul principles but dieting is really not the avenue I want to go back down, it's very soon to be saying that I guess but 15years of it is enough! It obv does not work for me! Xxx

puddingprincess · 13/08/2013 10:31

Oo by the way this is the actual link-

Welcome Pudding Nice to hear from you (you're not on another thread under a NC are you?)!!! I'll check out yr FB page I'm on the other one too Grin

We were talking about the sweet craving upthread (probably related to salty and or garlicky food) I get it too and just have a couple of squares of good quality dark chocolate (if the tapping technique hasn't worked) . Or i can't be bothered Blush. Or I say to myself "I'll wait till I'm hungry and THEN have a nice sweet thing."

Rules · 13/08/2013 10:57

Morning Ladies...pudding I havnt read that book. have you read pm books yet and listened to his hypnotic CDs? I find both the books and the cd are brilliant tools. You can and do lose weight with this method when you est totally mindfully. Mindful eating is like tuning into your body's own calorie requirements when you do it properly.Smile

Rules · 13/08/2013 10:58

ppeatfruit · 13/08/2013 11:03

puddingprincess · 13/08/2013 12:19

KeepTheFaithBaby · 13/08/2013 12:26

I'm around, just busy with a (day time) sleep resistant baby! Just put her down in her cot to nap, let's see how long that lasts?!

I am continuing to run. Not gorging on too much in the way of sugar. I'm hoping my BMI will be under 30 when I go for my pre-op on 4th September (abdo pain still nagging so dyno rod is booked for 19th September - a year less one day from when it was originally booked!). I've decided not to weigh myself until then so hopefully it'll be positive.

KeepTheFaithBaby · 13/08/2013 12:34

The time it took to write that post....that's how long it lasted

Rules · 13/08/2013 12:40

poor faith I remember those days. I'm sorry can't remember, what was your abdo pain symptoms again Blush

KeepTheFaithBaby · 13/08/2013 13:25

I think it was before you joined us - I was admitted last year with abdo pain (March time). They think there's a blockage in my water works so wanted to stick a camera up. Planned it for September but I got pregnant in August. Now happening in September this year.

ppeatfruit · 13/08/2013 14:27

No IMO and E that's true not shite Rules Also helps with maintaining the weight loss!! Grin Blush
