Hey new thread since our old stopping smoking and not gaining-too--much weight has been lost from chat! BOO!!!

I am not a good role model however as I HAVE piled on a stone, well 12 lbs now, since giving up the cigs.
This must be rectified!
Hence joining in the club section!

Donnadoon hope you find this thread.

Everyone else pile in, join and be happy or miserable bastard ex smokers

Enjoy Skegness!

We are off later to look at tents...nervous as I'm the weak link in the family when it comes to roughing it, being cold!

Again your baba is lovely Grin

Donnadoon · 29/05/2014 08:56

Hiya
We had a lovely day in Skegness , it was gorgeous sunny weather
We had a bank hol Monday BBQ in the rain with friends
And been stuck in ever since
It. Has. Not. Stopped. Raining. Since. Monday.
Glad we had busy weekend, to counteract the sheer boringness of being stuck in, still, I got the kids to clear their rooms out Grin
Did you buy a tent ?
Been snacking too much an all this week Hmm

FrantasticO · 01/06/2014 09:23

Hiya pal!

Hope the rain has stopped and you are not getting cabin fever Grin

Hectic here!
Working, kids and mil just out of hospital, she's doing fine but is an hours drive away, makes for long days! Grin

On the plus side, I've not had the chance to eat so am wearing clothes I haven't been able to glimpse at...every cloud n all that!

No tent yet, friend is giving us a loan to test, incase I can't hack it! Grin

Anyhoo, take it easy
X

Donnadoon · 02/06/2014 21:29

Flowers for your mil
Yay for roomy clothes !
Lovely sunny weather here!
Got the kids back to school today
I love it when they are off, but it was hard work with the constant rain last week
Fence painting and jet washing this week
I have to do it in fits and starts when the babies are both sleeping, when I should be putting my feet up, but I love getting my jobs done, it's my ME time Grin
I pigged out being stuck in last week, so must be proper strict this week ...Grrr
Laters matey xx

FrantasticO · 04/06/2014 22:39

Zzzz

Working and exercising like mad and end of term madness!
Bet I'm not as tired as you with your wee ones though!

Glad your trip went well and hope the fence is coming along Grin
Rain, rain and you guessed it rain here...boo.
No further forward with the tent yet, OH is constantly at work just now and I am constantly the taxi service!when not at work of course Grin

All well this end, just need a holiday!!!

Laters!

OP posts:
Donnadoon · 05/06/2014 21:14

Hiya
I've been eating like a budgie this week see I'll get poorly now
Finished one side of fence, had no energy for jet washing
Been lovely and sunny today, rained all day yesterday though, weird weather
I feel like a never see my DH some weeks too, out at 7am back at 7pm quite regularly
Still, we march on, keeping our families ticking over Grin
Wine for us Fran !

FrantasticO · 07/06/2014 19:35

Mmmm I agree to Wine
I knew there were many reasons I liked you!

Going to gently persuade oh to go get a couple of treats...it's the weekend!

Well done you on the fence!
You put me to shame and really are an inspiration in all that you manage!
Mine needs done, will attempt when the blardy rain stops!
I'm waiting on Noah's ark to float by here!

Otherwise same old same old!
Still exercising like billio!
Have a party next week so maybe hold hold off on the treats til then?
Decisions decisions!

Anyways, enjoy the rest of the weekend!

OP posts:
Donnadoon · 10/06/2014 22:39

Did you have the treats ?
We all deserve a blow out every now and then
And as for the home maintenance , I'm a SAHM ATM remember
You work, and when I worked I barely had time to brush my hair let alone anything else
Woo hoo for a party,I love the odd party Grin
Been making the most of the sunny Sundays
For the last 4 Sundays we've been up and out, to country parks, beaches, stately blinking homes, you name it!
It's been lovely but tiring, but really nice to spend some quality time together
Just watching big brother saddo makes for some easy watch trash tv
I fall asleep if I have to watch anything educational my brain can't cope
Lol :)

FrantasticO · 11/06/2014 20:46

Hiya!
Resisted the treats! Feeling the fear!
I'm your big brother buddy Blush
No one else I know admits to watches it.

They have started with a bang!
Think Helen and Pauline might be bullies and the men are like butt head and bravissimo boys!

...and then there's the scot...

O my god!

Every year they find the maddest scot they can find and roll them in to make us all cringe and shout at the tv!
She's mad!
Fair play if she was consistent, but she is mad!

Enjoy the sunshine
We have had ONE day I think, monsoon weather the rest of the time!
Oh and hats of to you, sahm and all you do every blardy day is tiring!

Anyhoo!

Loving your summary of BB
Don't worry I know that all Scots are not like that, my grandad was Glaswegian don't ask me whereabouts I'd have to ask my nan cus he's passed on now Anyhoo they relocated to London in the sixties and we all kind of spread out from there
Oh it's been so warm too warm really we have to limit the sun exposer in our house, my youngest two are red heads and I've got a dodgy skin complaint that I don't want to get any worse, Rosacea and vitiligo Hmm
Luckily so far it's not noticible at first glance but could get worse over time and god forbid I ll have to wear makeup to cover it, not that I've got anything against make up on other people Grin

FrantasticO · 15/06/2014 20:56

Ooohhh you are a natural beauty!
I'm not! Though don't wear much makeup! probably should slap it on!

Loving BB it's all kicking off early this year!

Very tired tonight, been full on with kids and shows and parties!!Grin

We going Devon again, thought long and hard but just can't bear the thought of juggling two under two on the plane this year.
I'll let you know tomorrow how he gets on bites nails (instead of biscuits)

Donnadoon · 17/06/2014 13:25

Can't believe it !

Right.

I'm sitting in tears and want a million cigs, a vat of wine and some Valium.
Seriously I'm so hacked off donna.

One of my kids is taking and eating lots of extra food.
Trying not to make a huge issue of it, have spoke about it and feel that we are getting a few steps forward.

Have spoken to my mum and asked for treats not to be dished out.
She watches them 2 afternoons.

Come home today. Shit day at work.
More food missing and my mum has given them a huge treat. I'm talking BIG.
Tried to discuss it with my mum, she takes the sulk.
Woe is me, I won't ever buy them anything else again, poor me. And so on.

I'm trying to do the right thing.
I constantly pat my mum down.

I've had it.

Arrrrrgggggghhhhhh!

Moan over Sad

Donnadoon · 20/06/2014 16:44

Oh no
just seen this sorry
Im a shit friend
nearly 24 hours have passed
Hope you are ok now Flowers
I have no useful advice really :(
I know its really hard trying to get a grandparent to adhere to your wishes in general though
Rant away though Fran, I here ya !

FrantasticO · 20/06/2014 17:17

Hey matey!
Needed to vent thanks!

Feeling much calmer today...and of course no cigs!
Have had words with my mum, and now going to keep quiet.
I am the one who ALWAYS says sorry and does the patting down to make it all ok normally.
Have had enough this time though, so we will see.

Sun is shining and kids are having a blast in paddling pool!
Got a tent so trial put up shortly!

How's your boy and his driving adventures!
Very exciting and nerve wracking I'm sure!

Sorry for the moans!

Hiya
hows the tent ?
I havnt slept well this week with my boy out on the open road...I dont think I can go through this worry 5 times...the others will have to get the bus I think Grin
Im with you on the patting down, I fell out with my DM last summer and give her a wide berth for a couple of months for promising to take two of mine to the cinema and than cancelling/re-arranging due to hair appointments and friends birthdays Angry Anyhoo there was no patting down that time, she had both barrells, she dont do any childcare for me though Grin So its vair tricky for you
All my kids have been blessed with DHs fast metabilism except one..my poor DC3 has been cursed with mine Grin and whenever she complains that shes "fat" comparing herself to her bird like tiny friend I have to be fairly honest with her and say " sweetheart you are not fat, you are perfect, blah blah, but you are just like me, your mumma and unfortunately we can not get away with eating all the wrong things too often because our clothes soon feel tight " Yada yada...you get the picture...but it is really hard and your heart goes out to them, food is addictive to some people...fact
Flowers

FrantasticO · 21/06/2014 21:18

I agree it is a fact!
Shit though isn't it!! Grin

Haven't done any patting down.
Feeling twitchy though!

Tent is fab!
Off to buy rest of the bits in next few weeks, airbeds n sleeping bags!

I get the anxiety about driver boy!
Think I'd be the same.
You sound fab though, letting him do it, they need some independence.
Gulp!

Anyhoo sun is still shining blardy miracle
And I'm more sane today Grin

Have a lovely time!
Eat drink and be merry, you can diet all year round but not on your hols !
Xx

Donnadoon · 07/07/2014 21:17

Wowzers ! We are in July !
Hope you had/having lovely hols !
I've got hayfever, never had it before, eyes are streaming all day and it's really hindering me
Starting taking a tablet now every day, not working though
In other news, I slimmed right down a couple of weeks ago, I was well happy with myself
Until this weekend I've not stopped eating, hormones I think, but I only have to look at a cake and my jeans are digging in
Also I'm down in the dumps and a tiny bit concerned about dd2, 21 months and not speaking , all my others were speaking in sentences by now , the HV isn't worried, but I read too much mn and I am worried so they've placed her on a huge waiting list for Salt and a hearing test
Wo is me...sorry :)
