Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Well done everybody and welcome all the new names.

Argh - sammac and scone - I need some of your will power please. I was so proud of myself on Friday, but I fell into comfort eating over the weekend after a crappy week at work. And once I slipped, I couldn't get back on the straight and narrow.

This is the first time I really feel like I've failed in months. So disappointed with myself.

Back on it today, of course. But what a waste of a weekend. Sad

Thanks to Reggie I had my favourite apple porridge this morning, bloody love that stuff from Cambridge!

Bb, don't beat yourself up. Get back on it and youll be grand. Weekends are hard. Both Saturday and Sunday I ended up having two meals and two packs instead of one meal and three packs. All meat and salad so not bad, but still not on it. Had nandos which was harder than I thought, but went for a mediterrean salad with chicken and skipped the tomatoes.

Day 4 and I'm starving. Don't think I'm in ketosis yet Sad. I have two ketostix but not sure what colour they should turn and if I have to do them first thing.

Already had a porridge & shake today so its goning to be a long day Sad

Hi blibblibs I'm also on day 4. Keep wandering into the kitchen to look at my food cupboards then realise I can't eat.!!! I have also had two packs already. .. early to bed for me tonight. Lol.
I have just had some ketosticks delivered and I just tried one. ... Not in ketosis!! The colour should turn varying shades of purple the darker the more ketones present. A negative result for me but I just read that some people can be in ketosis and never show it on the sticks. ..... so as long as I'm losing weight in not gonna stress about it. ...
Had a cheeky weigh this morning and 5 lb off so far. Grin
Come on guys. ... You can do it. Start again today. X

Hi Maggie, Think I'll leave my stick till tomorrow then. I have no scales at home so no idea if its working. Certainly don't feel any thinner. And I tried my wedding rings on today ( my main aim is to get them back on after taking them off during pregnancy, after being married for only 6 months!) and they still don't fit.
My skin looks better though - must be all the water Smile
Official weigh in on thursday night and then hopefully it will have been worth it!

People at work are now aware I'm on Cambridge and I'm SOOOOOOO sick of people saying "ooohhh, I could never do that, I love my food too much"

Really?? REALLY??? Do you think I'm existing on three shakes a day because I don't fancy eating real food? OF COURSE I love food, I wouldn't be in this blummin situation if I didn't!

Hi everyone can I join you?

I'm on my 8 day of the Cambridge diet and I hate it! This time of night is my usual snack time so I'm getting major hunger pangs!

I had a baby 8 months ago and have put on just over 2 stone. It doesn't sound a lot but I'm 5ft 1 it feels a lot! After my DD was born I got into a habit of just eating crap, chocolate, pasta and crisps and I guess now I need to break the habit. I go back to work in 3 weeks and don't want any are u still pregnant questions!

I've lost 4lbs so far... I kinda expected more. Can I do anything to speed it up do u think? I've heard of ketosticks, where do I get them from?

Reenieroo..... That made me giggle. Sorry not what you want to hear when you are ranting but I have people around me like that. I am on secret Cambridge ( only on day 4 tho) as people can't wait to comment on any diet/healthy eating that I do. It's ok at the moment as I'm on maternity leave but I go back to work at the end of July. .. and since I'm going to be on this for quite a few months I'm trying to figure out ways to lie to my colleagues. Lol.
Bb... I'm sure it won't be long until you can fit you rings on. You're on the right track. X

Bilb my wedding rings are slightly looser, just, I think I have a lot of water retention in my sausage fingers! You will get them back on! I got mine sized up after DD as I was so desperate to wear them!

Maggie I'll also be keeping a secret from my colleagues, given I normally eat tonnes of chocolate it's going to be hard to keep it a secret!!

Weigh in this evening was 2lb off. So pleased as l have not got back on it properly since week of evening meals, it turned in to 3 weeks of evening meals so am going to stick to it for next 3 weeks (except my Saturday night treat). I have now lost 21 1/4lb so have hit my 1st milestone of 1 1/2st in 6weeks.

I tried the S&S spagbol tonight and it was quite nice. I love my Exante shakes but really miss the evening meal and this has helped. Has anyone else mixed diets. I do have a one week taster pack from S&S on its way to me.

Weighed myself this morning. Still no loss!!!! I could cry! I've lost 0.5% body fat tho. Very weird.

I've been drinking 4 to 5 pints of water a day with 1 or 2 black coffees.

Yesterday I had a tiny drop of skimmed milk on tea, surely that wouldn't do anything?!

I don't know what to do!

Right have ordered some ketosix and will up my water intake today. See if that helps. Not sleeping well so wonder if that does anything (clings at straws). Fingers crossed for a loss tomorrow or I might eat some chocolate!!! Grin

Oh Cheeky I feel for you.

I'm on day 5 and still feeling rubbish. Did a ketostix this morning and it's pink so still not in ketosis Sad and still starving.

No idea about weight loss but will find out Thursday night. I wonder if there are people out there that it just doesn't work for, althought I can't see how Confused But I may be one of them!

Hi cheeky. Try not to stress if you've only got 2 stone to loose then a 4lb loss is fab. I'm like you that I love my pasta, chocolate and crisps! And Go back to work in 5 weeks after dd was born.

I think upping your water intake is the best thing for you. I drink 3 litres a day and I try to count my black tea as extra. It's hard going but I fill up 2 x 1.5 litre bottles and make sure I drink them both.
Seeing how much I've got to drink makes it easier! !!
The ketosticks can be hit or miss... I tried one yesterday and was negative ( I'm on day 4). But tried another one when I next needed the loo and it positive..... tried another one 2hours later and negative!
Keep up with it your doing well getting past the first week.

I only have 1.5 stone to lose - and in fact am only 1lb away from an ok bmi, so it is slower. I'm only on track for a 2lb loss this week, which is far lower than I was expecting, but a loss is a loss. It's hard when you see others dropping big numbers, but he closer you get to your bmi the harder it is.

I'm glugging more water as we speak!!

Remember that drinking lots of water will dilute the ketones as well, which is why they may not be changing colour. Best way to tell IMO is the weird taste in the back of your mouth,

Cheeky, you are doing great, and 5 pints is about 2.5 litres which is plenty of water, I am sure it is because you don't really have that much to lose.

Blibblips, ketosis will come, it will. Just follow the plan. Are you doing cd? Sammac is the expert on that one.

Bb, now come on. You haven't failed, just had a rough week. You have done so well, and it is just one of those things. Are you still in ketosis? Do you think that a couple of days of food low carbing to get you into ketosis would be easier as a method to get back into it?

I had eaten all my packs by 6pm last night, so I made lots of cups of tea instead. It never gets 'easy' I don't think, but with a little thought and projection we can all get there. I spent a lot of time saying to myself I want to lose a pound more than I want some boiled eggs

Oh and cheeky, I had 7 stone to lose when I started. I had hoped that like some others I would lose 10 or 11 pounds that first week. I only lost 7, and I was disappointed, that is what led to my weigh every day routine. It means I don't hang the success of my week in a single morning, I can see how it is going and it doesn't upset me.

But 2 pounds here and there soon add up. Some weeks I will lose 5 or 6 then only 2, but each pound gone means I am closer to target, and not the pound heavier I would probably be if I hadn't started.

Scone I'm trying to think that every loss no matter how small is a loss there is no way I'd have without the diet! Positive thinking!

Blib so glad you feel better! I was actually sick on my third day which was awful! Just keep at it and come on here for support :)

I've tried to drink all my water early today off to Robbie tonight and do not wanna be missing him while I constantly que to pee!
