Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Reggiebean, look into slim and save. They do meals, like chilli and spag bol and curry :-)

MyJellybean · 17/06/2013 21:04

Lost 2 1/2lb this week which I'm chuffed with as went out to dinner twice and had 2 other blips. Total loss 19.5lb in 35 days. Approx28lb to go.

Welcome Reggiebean.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 17/06/2013 21:16

Some great results here, well done!

I have been feeling a bit weird this week. Very dizzy, a bit sick, food tastes strange, v.tired. Scales are static. And no I definitely don't need to POAS! TOTM is still going and going and going and going

Ah well. Just keep swimming!

smokinaces · 17/06/2013 21:20

Scone, vlcd do that to my periods too. Gah. Good job I'm single and not anticipating sex any time soon!!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 17/06/2013 21:35

Grin my dh is on the other side of the world, so no problems there either!

reggiebean · 17/06/2013 21:47

Cheers Smokin. Am mainly doing Cambridge because I had leftovers, but once I get back from my trip, I may look into S&S as a "maintenance" plan.

Scone, which VLCD are you doing?

TenbyChristmas · 17/06/2013 21:51

Jen 1610 I probably could do with 4 stone off. By skinny fat he means slim but not toned, squishy and sqidgy lol I'd rather be on the buff ripped side if I'm honest. Weights 5 times a week and cardio everyday. I can't deny the thought of going back to a healthy diet and actually eating isn't appealing but I've now lost a stone in 2weeks on vlcd. But he rightly pointed out that I need to fuel my workouts. Surprisingly he wasn't negative at all about vlcd like I thought he'd be but just said for what I want to achieve he doesn't think it's the right way for me to go.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 17/06/2013 21:56

Hi reggie, I am doing slim and save, started April 17th and I have lost 2.5 stone so far. Another 4 stone to go....

smokinaces · 17/06/2013 22:34

Definitely follow up your initial loss with maintenance Reggie. I lost three stone nearly eighteen months ago on Cambridge. Lost another eight doing low carbs. When I restarted slim and save last week I was four pounds over my initial loss with Cambridge - and that was mainly cake, crisps and coke recently. So if you follow it up you can keep it off.

I'm aiming for 21lb as my initial I think. That would take me to 9st 9. Which would settle me at around 9st 12/10st with the reintroduction of a few healthy carbs. Missing my fruit and yogurt I admit. Aiming for a month, thirty day challenge initially. Paid for two weeks, friend gave me random leftovers which make up a third week so that's handy.

smokinaces · 17/06/2013 22:38

Lost another 8lb that should be. Not eight stone. I was only 13'9

smokinaces · 17/06/2013 22:39

And tenby, its finding what works for you so you're happy with the end result.

I don't have the time or effort to get toned I admit. I'll go for squishy skinny. Which after a 10lb 2 baby and two c sections is all I can hope for with my belly!!

reggiebean · 17/06/2013 22:42

Congrats on the loss so far! I'm looking forward to seeing the scale go down and being able to brag share!

smokinaces · 17/06/2013 22:53

The great bit is, if you stick to it the scales move downwards nicely! I was averaging 3.5lb before - this is my first week back on so hoping for double that and then to settle down. Would mean a stone in three weeks, 21lb in five weeks but would be nicer sooner, but aware the lower I get the harder it is.

Enjoy reggie. Find the packets you like and you'll enjoy. I really liked the Cambridge apple porridge and Thai soups. Hoping to get my friend to sell ne some I think.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 18/06/2013 16:52

Perhaps the mystery Is solved! Dd has come home from school complaining that her tummy is hurting and apparently (or should that be allegedly?!) lots of people have been off this week.

Plus, that day when I ate the bars I think I put myself out of ketosis

Anyway lesson learned!

reggiebean · 18/06/2013 18:32

Get on the echinacea, Scone!

Weighed myself today and didn't think I'd see anything yet, and am down 8 lbs already! [realises it's water weight, but still does the happy dance]

However, DP is currently making bolognaise, and the onions smell so nice, I've had to leave the lounge until he's done cooking! Sad

smokinaces · 18/06/2013 20:50

8lb in one day Reggie?!

Just had my chilli, late as was out. Admit I chucked in a little extra cucumber and a small amount of cheese. Lunch was a egg salad, with a bar for afternoon snack. Shake for breakfast - really need to get a hold of some apple porridge from cambridge as hating shakes and slim and save porridge is pretty rank.

Weigh in Thursday morning here. So far looking good :-)

reggiebean · 18/06/2013 20:54

Yes, double checked the scales and everything! Trying not to expect the same results daily for the next couple of weeks, but god, it'd be nice, wouldn't it?!

I have a few sachets of Apple Porridge (6 I think?) that you can have if you want? I think they're awful tasting, so they're all yours if you want to PM me your address.

smokinaces · 18/06/2013 20:57

Reggie you sure? I can send you some shakes in return?! Will pm you :-)

smokinaces · 18/06/2013 20:59

Ok, being thick - can't figure out how to pm you?! Can you pm me first?!

reggiebean · 18/06/2013 21:05

Done!

freckles21 · 18/06/2013 21:15

Hello all, I have lost 3.5lbs this week and in two weeks have lost 8 inches from thigh, hips, waist, bust and upper arm, in total. So happy.
Dp took us out for dinner on Sunday, was really looking forward to eating but find the meal horrible and couldn't et it, suppose that's a good thing.
Tenby, I have been looking at the effects of hard exercising whilst doing is and all the things I read have said your body can start going into starvation mode and the muscle you are building will turn into fuel. My dp takes protein shakes as he is into lifting weights more than cardio. He has spoken to various people about what's best to take, and got most of his advice from gnc staff. I think ultimately the decision needs to be yours, but a low carb, high protein diet will build muscle and make you look ripped.
I do the ifit wobble machines three times a week, luckily the one I go to offers classes. Enjoying that its funny but I'm exercising. When I lose a bit more and start reintroducing food Ill start doing more weights.
Well done everyone on weight losses, and starting.
I don't know about anyone else, but I thought I would be bored by now and struggling with watching my family eat, but I really am not, I am enjoying what I'm doing, and not really missing food at the mo. Grin
Hope everyone is okay

reggiebean · 18/06/2013 21:21

Hi Freckles,

Missing food at moment quite badly (DP made a delicious smelling bolognaise tonight, the bastard!) but the numbers on the scale are keeping me motivated, and I have the weekend (cheating this weekend... Off camping, so don't have any blenders or microwaves around.. Darn!) to look forward to, so just staying strong!

Congrats on the loss so far! x

smokinaces · 18/06/2013 21:24

Lots of Bacon and eggs Reggie with no toast!! Think protein not carbs.

When you've finished your Cambridge, I do recommend slim and save. They do spaghetti bolognese, chill con carne, spicy spaghetti, and they are like a proper meal and flavoursome.

reggiebean · 18/06/2013 22:02

Mmm... Bacon... [drool]

MyJellybean · 18/06/2013 22:06

Freckles, I didn't miss food until the week of evening meals aswell as packs, I'm now into my second week of just packs again but have not yet managed to go 3+ days without some chicken or a meal. Even this evening I had a sliced beef salad Hmm
