Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Jellybean - I tend to make the S&S shakes quite long - to try and get more full up, but if you keep to the suggested amount of water, they can be quite thick. As for the soups, I've only just started trying them - I love the chicken curry noodle one - it just didn't make very much!

bbpants · 21/06/2013 14:21

Maggie - I go to bed RIDICULOUSLY early on this diet! I need to take myself out of temptation's way, and if I'm downstairs, I'm too near the kitchen!

It's good though - I've read more books over the past few months!

MyJellybean · 21/06/2013 17:07

Thanks bbpants. I'm hoping the meals I got taste better than they look.

Maggie, do you not have any cereal bars. I can't do 3 shakes, I have a shake in morning, a cereal bar that I make several hours and then a shake/soup in evening.

maggie666 · 21/06/2013 17:44

No cereal bars just yet. My consultant said to wait 2 weeks before I get them. I'm gonna have a shake at 7 I think. Got to drink more water tho.

smokinaces · 21/06/2013 18:35

Maggie first two weeks I did cambridge I had four packs a day. Didn't affect my losses but was a lot easier. Now im on slim and save I'm on three packs and one meal as I just can't do three packs alone.

The bars are bloody addictive. I love the Thai soups in both plans I admit. The shakes i down in one as I hate them, the slim and save meals I really like.

My second fortnights worth arrives Monday. So with the ones from a friend that's five weeks supply. Would be lovely to have dropped 1.5 stones in that time. Was 11,2 last Thursday, 10,9 yesterday so seven pounds down in week one so happy with that. Should settle at around three a week now. Can't notice any difference so far, apart from my face is less bloated which is nice. Period wasn't extended for once as well so happy its not messed my hormones up this time.

ReenieRoo · 21/06/2013 20:11

I feel guilty. I really, really, really struggled last night. I'm sure I've been in keto since about Tuesday but yesterday afternoon/evening I felt so weak and my legs felt like jelly but I still didn't cheat.

Today (tonight) I started feeling the same so asked DH2B to bring me something nice from the shop (knowing that I was going to take myself out of keto tomorrow because I have a friends meal, and this was my plan from starting the CD at the beginning of the week) and he came back with a white chocolate Magnum, some chocolate popcorn and a bag of strawberry laces.

I've wolfed down the Magnum and followed that with some soft cheese on crackerbread and a glass of Prosecco. Boo hiss boo.

HOWEVER - I don't feel like I want to carry on eating. Normally I'd say "stuff this" and completely gorge but I just don't feel like it. So whilst I'm sad that I cheated, I think I've learned something from it.

Please tell me that you other weight loss machines are mere mortals and occassionally slip too?? I'm planning on getting right back on it on Sunday. I'm also going to try and track down the Atkins shake stuff instead of Slimfast as there aren't as many carbs in that.

ReenieRoo · 21/06/2013 20:14

Smokinaces - we're almost the same weight! How tall are you and how much are you looking to lose?

smokinaces · 21/06/2013 22:59

Reenie, im five four and a bit :-) I want to get to around 9,10 so need to.go to about 9,7 with water weight to regain. I have had a couple of cheats - but low carbs ones. I've munched a few bits of cheese, added olives to a salad, had lamb steaks instead of chicken, had teaspoon of mayo with my eggs. Nothing major though. The bars give me my chocolate fix and I'm happy with the meals. This weekend will be a test though as im out a lot. I will do what I did in the week though, take a soup packet with me and ask for a hot water in a coffee shop etc to mix it with to takeaway if I need to.

I did Cambridge end of October 2011 till Jan 2012. So I've had eighteen months since of low carbing with a few binges. I'm fairly used to the "good cheats" now :-)

maggie666 · 22/06/2013 07:41

Ok so day one complete. It was really hard as I didn't realise how much I grazed on food through the day. Especially when feeding my dd. Must admit I did have the King prawns whilst she was eating. Reenie I slipped on my first day!!! But hopefully going for protein won't have made too much damage.
I have made myself a little mini goal to do 3 days without cheating. .. so will have to try again.
I have bought some ketosticks just so I can check that I'm in ketosis.... think I need to see something visual to know for sure and with any luck it should help me to stay focused.

Smokin, I did think about using 4 packs yesterday. I think I may do that on my really hungry days. I told my consultant that on the day that I go to my toning class I will do sole source plus just so I don't pass out. Lol.
We can do it!

blibblibs · 22/06/2013 10:01

Morning Ladies.

Newbie here, started CD yesterday and I'm so hungry this morning! Managed yesterday with no cheating even though I had to go to a 4 year olds birthday party, thats usually a place where I would pick & pick for as long as the party lasted so pleased to have resisted. Did have to go to bed at 8.30pm though as I was so hungry.

Need to try and stay busy today to keep my mind off food.

I've been reading this thread for days now and it was the final push I need to get started so thank you ladies Smile

maggie666 · 22/06/2013 10:52

Hi blibblibs.
Nice to meet ya. Looks like we started on the same day. I too am feeling a bit hungry and headachey but I'm trying to keep myself busy. I am hoping to loose 5 stone on CD so I'm gonna be on this thread for a while. Lol.
Well done for resisting temptation at a party great will power. When is your next weigh day. Mine is on a week Monday so I've got just over a week to go for my first one. Grin

blibblibs · 22/06/2013 11:59

Morning Maggie

Thursday will be my first weigh in so exactly a week - hoping for great things but 4 or 5lbs would do Smile

I only have 2 stone to lose. Still carrying the baby weight and youngest is about to start school in Septmeber Grin

I've been this weight for about 2 years now but just can't seem to shift it so hoping once its gone i can continue to stay the same weight! But at 5ft carrying 11 1/2 stone around is not a good look.

Staying busy seems to be the key - had a terrible headache yesterday but feeling ok today, so far. Had porridge this am which was very nice so will have to get more of them for next week. But mostly looking forward to the hunger subsiding in the next few day! Good luck.

smokinaces · 22/06/2013 13:49

Blibblibs, highly recommend coming off Cambridge slowly and reducating yourself about carbs and sugar. Tis easier to keep it off then! The headache should go by day four, good luck, its worth it :-)

sammac · 22/06/2013 15:15

Well this morning's weigh in saw another 3 1/2 off, bring total to 49 lbs or 3 1/2 stone exactly. Yahoo!! In 81 days. Am well chuffed. Was wanting to reach the 50mark but that will have to wait till next time.

Survived my work's night out last night, despite my meal getting put in front of me - smelled so good. But me and my fizzy water won the day. Instead I became the dancing queen- think that's the extra 1/2lb.

Treated myself to a new dress. White, summery boderie anglaise from Next. Don't think I've had a white dress since I was a wee girl. Dd tanned my legs - you could even see my knees, helpmabob! Anyway felt good instead of not wanting to be noticed.

Off on holiday the end of next week and I can go onto Lite. This means I can have a meal, but will stillstay in ketosis - like S&S I presume. Going to do it some days, but not every day - I'll stick to the 4 packs, but it gives me some leeway. Really fancy some Wine too, but will try to refrain.

freckles21 · 22/06/2013 17:56

Well done sammac and everyone else.
Just a quick question, I'm into my third week of boosshing and still really enjoying it and motivated to continue following it, but the last couple of days I have felt really light headed, heavy legs and really hungry. I'm sticking to the packs and drinking enough water, any suggestions as to what it could be. Dont want to have a meal or food but haven't felt like this since the beginning and ven then it wasn't as bad as it is now.
I'm looking into taking up crocheting so that my hands are busy and I'm not thinking of food. The problem with not smoking any longer.

maggie666 · 22/06/2013 19:39

Well done sammac great will power. 49lbs is amazing.
Freckles - hope you feeling better crocheting is Fab way to keep your hands busy.
My second day has gone a bit easier. I'm still thinking about food tho. Can't wait for these headaches to ease.I managed to do a lot of sewing last night to keep me busy may have to go for an early night tonight though. Keep up the good work all of you. we'll be skinny in no time. Xxx

SconeInSixtySeconds · 23/06/2013 08:44

Now you know how I weigh every day because I am naughty? And my proper proper weigh in day in Wednesday? scales showed 14st exactly this am....only a pound to go to be 3st down!

Right, I am super hard core until July 11th. Which is when dh returns, I haven't seen him since Easter, he is going to have a surprise!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 23/06/2013 08:46

Oh and yay Sammac! You are doing so brilliantly. You were the reason I tried this diet way back up thread^^ thank you, thank you so much. Thanks

smokinaces · 23/06/2013 09:32

Sammac, that is incredible!!

Scone, wow what a suprise for your dh :-)

I went out last night. No alcohol at all, but did have two diet cokes. there was food in front of us all night, scones, chocolate, crisps. I picked, but at olives and chillis and feta cheese. Also only had two packs yesterday to compensate. Off to London this afternoon on a date - not sure how that will work food wise, going to aim for chicken salad!

maggie666 · 23/06/2013 10:47

Wow everyone is doing fantastic. Love reading these posts just helps me to know I'm not the only one going through it. Scone - I'm on day three and have weighed myself everyday lol. I wake up and can't wait to see what the scales say. .. I'm hoping the novelty will wear off in about 6 weeks and I can weigh every other day. Grin.
Good Luck with your date smokin sounds exciting.
I feel better today not so headachey but have an awful taste in my mouth and mouthwash isn't helping. Hope this means I'm in ketosis. I seem to have some erergy today too which is great.

sammac · 23/06/2013 10:48

Aww you guys!! So thought I would try out this lite choice last night and made a prawn salad. Can have between 200-300g of white fish so I bought a wee tub - only 180g but it was loads. Mixed with 2 tsps of low fat mayo and a bit of tomato puree, with a bit of mixed salad. Loved it, but I am the world's slowest eater now! First time in81 days using a knife and fork instead of a teaspoon. AND I could still have a bar Smile Afterwards waited for my tummy to protest, but was fine. Not going to do it again till away on holiday next week.

Scone the 11th is my 100 day target- tho having your dh home is far nicer. Does he know you've been doing this? My home scales say just under the 14 mark, but the official ones say 14.2.

smokinaces · 23/06/2013 10:59

Another lovely.one is egg mayo. Three eggs, one teaspoon of wholegrain mustard, one teaspoon of mayo. Makes enough for 2-3 portions and is lovely on rocket.

Well this week has meant I can get in a pair of jeans I haven't fitted in since last summer. Well chuffed as having tried ten outfits on this one suits the day perfectly and fits!!

blibblibs · 23/06/2013 19:16

Sammac & Scone - thats fantastic loses. Have been reading this thread for the last week or so and you two gave me the final push I needed Thanks

Day three and it been hard going. Had first shake very early as started work at 6am so had last shake at 5pm but feeling ok. Think it will be another early night tonight.

Was thinking once I got down to target (haven't really decided what that is yet!) of trying the 5:2 diet and using the shakes on the fast days? Willing to be told its a stupid idea if it is.

sammac · 23/06/2013 19:39

Blibb well done for getting to day 3. Early nights seem to go hand in hand with this. I think that's a good idea with the 5:2 maintenance plan. Someone in work does it just to keep the same, without actually dieting - the other days she eats whatever she wants. If only...

blibblibs · 23/06/2013 19:46

I'm hoping after this my stomach has shrunk enough that I can't fit in a whole cheesecake and therefore my non fast days will be better than my diet from 3 days ago Smile
