4lbs this week Grin

About time though as I'd STS the week before (period).

That's 18 lbs in 7 weeks, 5 of them low carbing.

A million more to go - but as long as it keeps going in the right direction...

I'd probably 'give it away' faster if I could get more water down!

Ilovemyteddy · 12/03/2013 07:02

Thanks Ruprekt

Shout-out for MsRinky. Haven't seen you around the Bootcamp threads much but notice on the spreadsheet that you have lost LOADS of weight. Bloody well done!

BlackAffronted · 12/03/2013 07:10

Im down 6lb, but that will be from being ill :( Have put it on the spreadsheet anyway, just because I dont ever get to put great losses like that on! Ill probably regain it in the next few days.

Feeling much, much better today, have just managed a reasonable ass breakfast Grin

MsRinky · 12/03/2013 07:15

Aw, thank you Blush

I have done well overall, but have not done terribly well during this Bootcamp - have had a lot of social stuff on and keep losing and then finding the same couple of pounds. The food side of things is ok, I just keep finding excuses to drink wine.

I am a bit cross with myself, as in two weeks it is my 1 year low-carb anniversary, and I wanted to have lost 4 stone. I think I'm going to come up a bit short of that, as I have another 2 x 40th birthday parties to go to over the next two weekends. But it's still a massive achievement for me.

I'm hoping that when I go part time from May I'll get a new focus - more time to myself and I'm planning to up my exercise.

Ilovemyteddy · 12/03/2013 07:59

Aww don't beat yourself up. You've lost 7lbs on Bootcamp and you are really close to losing that 4st. Sorry, I look like I'm stalking you Grin. But, as you know, I know what it's like to need to lose more than just a few pounds and I just wanted to publicly acknowledge your achievement. You should be proud Thanks

sybilfaulty · 12/03/2013 08:11

4st is a great loss.

STS for me this week which is fine. I too have had lots on over bootcamp coupled with a horrendous work situation so it's been a challenge. Have fallen inot the LC food but not really been as abstemious as I should be

Have a good day everyone.

captainmummy · 12/03/2013 08:40

I find it amusing that most of these threads have a 'common' food-love - on one it was kalecrisps, then braised cabbage, then linseed crackers, this one is parmesan shortbread...

MsR - 4 stone is awesome. You are half the woman you were!

BIWI · 12/03/2013 08:50

Wow, MsRinky! That is fabulous. Thanks

And BlackAffronted - glad you're feeling better. Please, please, please don't stress about your weight over the next couple of weeks. Given that you've been poorly, it's not surprising that you've lost so much weight, and it is entirely possible that you may put a bit back on. This is entirely normal.

Re the Parmesan shortbread - has anyone put the recipe on the recipe thread?

OP posts:
EwanHoozami · 12/03/2013 09:33

Has anyone tried the Brussels crisps yet? Lovely.

MsR that is a-mazing! Well done.

I've been crap at posting meal plans lately (especially Blush as I was the one chivvying everyone to do it)

B: Lidl yog with a sprinkle of dessicated coconut
L: spinach omelette
D: corned beef hash with cauli and swede instead of the spuds

Other notable dinners I've cooked lately have been...

Miso chicken and spring green (shirataki) noodle soup
Smoked paprika pork and green beans
Sausage and chorizo goulash
Naice ham, fried egg and celeriac chips
Chicken liver salad
Cauli rice kedgeree (scored some packs of fresh mackerel for 4p each!)

Bessie123 · 12/03/2013 09:52

How do you make Brussels crisps?

BIWI · 12/03/2013 10:02

Oooh - yes - I'd forgotten about that recipe, Ewan - I've got some Brussels in the fridge as well.

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 12/03/2013 10:09

Yup BIWI shortbread recipe is posted on the recipe thread.

spilttheteaagain · 12/03/2013 10:10

Would also like to know about brussels crisps as I have a pack of reduced sprouts in my fridge!

EwanHoozami · 12/03/2013 10:40

ere 'tis

Ilisten2theradio · 12/03/2013 11:09

Black, how are you feeling today. Re the salty thing - perhaps your body is trying to tell you you need salt. Try a pinch of salt in some water and see how it tastes. If it is disgusting then you are not too dehydrated!
I am going to go and see what this parmasan shortbread is all about as I wasn't about last week and have not had time to read the thread.

littlermissstan · 12/03/2013 11:23

Ugh, am a sugary twat. The printing guy just bought in danish pastries for everyone. And now I feel sick AND very cross with myself. Grrr. Really wanted a stone by the end of bootcamp but am still 4lbs off which does not seem likely now!

JakeBullet · 12/03/2013 11:24

Ooh...Ilisten....it is lethal stuff....made two batches in two days and both gone Blush. Am NOT making it today.....and DS absolutely HATES it but then he doesn't like melted cheese.

Incidentally, yesterday I was a good mother and packed DA his lunch box which contained chicken (which I had lovingly marinated in herbs and garlic), some carrot sticks, cucumber sticks and some fruit. I got a phone call from the school to say..."he hated the chicken" and had only had carrot, cucumber and some apple for lunch. Back to processed crap....ie sausages today Grin

thenightsky · 12/03/2013 11:39

Just one more pound and I'll hit the 20lb milestone by the end of our 10 week camp! I cannot tell you all how pleased I am after spending the last decade losing 1 or 2lb a week and gaining 3lb over the weekends, then back to starvation on weekdays. I'd even considered shady medication off the internet at one point Blush. Thank God I found this thread.

Bessie123 · 12/03/2013 11:39

Thanks ewan

Bessie123 · 12/03/2013 11:44

Hmm, I reckon it will be about 9lb for me over this bootcamp but I have cheated a few times so I suppose I shouldn't expect to lose more. I can squeeze into a size 12 but unless it's an M&S or some other larger-sized store, it's not comfortable.

I think my new goal is going to be to lose another half a stone by the next bootcamp, unless we can persuade Biwi to start on Monday

I was thinking, you see, that if we keep going, one bootcamp after the other, we can get 2 in before summer holiday time, or thereabouts. What do you reckon?

MrsHerculePoirot · 12/03/2013 11:55

Finally marking place! Am at all day conf today where food provided - I have bought my own lunch [halo emoticon]

BIWI · 12/03/2013 12:07

Next one will start on Monday 29 April, Bessie. Which will mean it finishes on 30 June, so in good time for summer holidays/bikini opportunities.

Next Monday we will have the final weigh-in, and will then just continue with a general, rolling chat thread.

teaandthorazine · 12/03/2013 12:31

Honestly, I should've known better than to start low carb on a whim - am so unprepared Grin. Yesterday started off ok but by dinner time I'd messed up by realising that I had a fridge full of carby leftovers from the weekend (am not in financial position to be able to chuck them away!) so... think I better lurk for the rest of the week!

Can someone remind me what the low carb position is on soy milk?

WillieWaggledagger · 12/03/2013 13:03

sorry to hear you've been so poorly blackaffronted, be kind to yourself and i hope you're managing to get plenty of rest

that sprouts recipe looks great - there's one on her blog too for sprouts slaw which looks delicious too (i would leave out the almonds because i am a fussy bugger)

29th april sounds perfect because i have a wedding to go to at the end of june. i make that nine weeks to 30th june though, am i going boggle-eyed?
