Sounds lovely Rup!

You aren't thick - just pre-occupied! Grin and at least it was the right way around!!

MyHeadWasInTheSandNowNot · 17/03/2013 11:24

Rup - if you eBay this coconut flour looks good here

Yama · 17/03/2013 12:43

Ruprekt

From Firsttimepig earlier in thread:

'Here's the recipe

40g ground linseed
60g walnut pieces
50g Finely ground almonds
2tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp sea salt
4 tbsp Splenda ( optional of course )
4 large eggs
240ml unsweetened soya milk
1tsp baking powder

Blend all leave for about 15 mins before you use it as it expands a bit,
Add baking powder just before you plan to fry. Blobs of mixture in the pan 2 mins each side. X'

I didn't have soya so used almond milk and had some Xylotil so used that instead of Splenda. Next time, I'll just leave that out though as they are fairly sweet. This mixtures makes a lot of wee pancakes - we've still got some mixture after two lots of breakfast.

Dd didn't like them so might do a half batch with coco powder next time and call them chocolate pancakes. Wink

Right, listen up everybody - even you, lurking at the back!

This is the end of this Bootcamp, but I will be running another one, starting on Monday 29 April.

What would be really helpful is to know from all of you what you think has worked particularly about Bootcamp and, perhaps more importantly, if there is anything that you feel we should do differently next time. Or if there are any improvements you can suggest.

I would be very grateful for any suggestions

A very big Thanks to all of you who have stayed the course and helped to support everyone else, and many congratulations on the brilliant losses.

And, an especially big ThanksThanksThanks to Willie for tending the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

I have been lurking quietly all week after going out on Tuesday having fallen off the wagon with crisps and a cereal bar - dinner was Ok, but then I added a few glasses of wine. Although i didn't suffer any of the carb flu the next few days, I did put on a few lbs and then I have hurt my shoulder and back again and am going to have to go back to the nurofen. Paracetemol and hot water bottles are just not doing it for me.

I was really hoping to have made the 1.5 stone by the end of bootcamp. Still its a pretty good loss anyway and I will continue on anyway.

I have found all the recipies everyone keeps on posting helpful and inspirational - even If I didn't make them as they were, they gave me ideas as to what I cold make from the contents of my fridge.

The spreadsheet is such a fabulous idea - it makes me keep track and perhaps knowing that I would be posting my weight on it has helped me persevere, although so has all the support on here too.

BlackAffronted · 17/03/2013 18:08

Oxtail is good for low carb, yes?

Yama · 17/03/2013 18:10

Helpful:

Friendly banter, words of encouragement from others.

Meal and snack ideas.

Good finds eg Lidl Greek yoghurt and Sainbos peanut butter.

The blogs and Youtube clips. My moment of epiphany came when reading a blog which said that when eating meat, the fat should be running down your fingers and that if you leave anything on the plate it should be the steak rather than the fat.

I know BIWI that you tried to drum it into us that fat=good but it was the evoking images conjured up by the blog that finally got my poor wee brain to understand.

And BIWI - honestly, I don't know if you could improve upon this. I like clicking on the odd blog as I go along, rather than being directed to a list of reading. Don't get me wrong the reading list on the Spreadsheet is great - dh has read loads but I kinda like reading stuff at the same time as others.

BlackAffronted · 17/03/2013 18:17

Agree with everything Yama says, I too enjoy reading blogs & articles as they come up :)

BIWI · 17/03/2013 18:31
Smile

That's good! I know what you mean about 'as they come up' - being directed to a reading list always feels like you're having to do your homework!

Ruprekt there will be a new shiny and very supportive thread started tomorrow. You need not worry.

OP posts:
WillieWaggledagger · 17/03/2013 18:35

I agree about the list, and from my POV it's more a place to collect them as they come up so that we don't have to hunt for links again - it wouldn't be a substitute for highlighting them when necessary

GuyMartinsSideburns · 17/03/2013 18:37

I'll def be on the supportive thread in the morning.... been a bit naughty and had some fresh pineapple Blush can I just say tho it tasted bloody amazing. So Im expecting a gain tomorrow unfortunately, I didnt eat a large amount of it but it seems that it takes hardly anything to balls me up. Lesson learned, new day tomorrow!

barleywood · 17/03/2013 18:47

I agree with Yama about the good finds.

I find the recipes good but would it be possible to have a shopping list of 'good finds' all in one place?

Trying to source things like best value coconut flour, peanut butter, mayonaise (been using the Delouise sp from Waitrose) etc.

Can't hope to match Ruprekt and her shopping skills Grin
