They were about 8 and 10 (mine are 7 and almost 9). They are my half brothers and used to come and stay with me, we all loved it. But I ran out of things to do with them before the days of DS's and tablets. Seemed OK in my early 20s. Now I am all parental controls and uptightness.

Tea, we could be twins, just don't be funnier than me, OK? Too latePah!

DoubleMum · 09/03/2013 20:33

We actually watched an episode of Blackadder II tonight - the Lord High Executioner one. Apart from the bit where Lady Farrow is about to give him a BJ, which will have completely gone over their heads, it was fine. He did call Baldrick a complete and utter bastard but DS kind of gave me a cheeky grin and thought that was funny. DD didn't really like it, whether because she didn't get it or because she is a bit poorly I don't know. Possibly both.
Today got worse as we had a Chinese takeaway, which wasn't completely my fault, but I'd eaten nothing else but chocolate and was quite controlled, so I've just about come in under cals I think unless I've hideously under-logged.

Me too Lizzy, I feel like it's my life mission. I even have parental controls on the fecking telly. I can't remember all the codes I use so most of the time it acts as a control for me watching age appropriate material too. Perhaps I should pop around my wee brother's house and make up for lost time and start loading netnanny onto his computer he's 32 now My DB is a lot younger than me too - he used to come and visit me at uni when he was 9. Oh. I've just remembered that when DB was 9 he came to visit me in Halls at uni. Oh. I was a bad big sister Blush

Oh ok. Double I might try one episode with them - I suppose it's a one way of finding out whether they know what a BJ is or not! Not sure if I'll get past DH though, our current "discussion" is whether Adrian Mole is age appropriate for 12 YO .. on account of the norwegian fishing chart.

And bloody good on you coming in on a day when you've had a variety of different chocolates and chinese. Your are a CalorieCountingUberMiester. I doff my cap to you.

DoubleMum · 10/03/2013 07:56

OK another night of being up with DD during every hour of the night and I'm not exactly feeling at my best for Mother's Day. On the other hand I've had a handmade card and a cuddly duck-billed platypus so who could ask for more?

Unfortunately when asked what I wanted for lunch today I specified something low-maintenance and low-calorie. DH actually got a Chinese feast for 4 with extra crispy duck and pancakes from Tesco, so I'm guessing he didn't actually listen.

Coming home today, time to start paying my penance!

Ate junk and drank far too much booze this week but don't give a stuff. (That's bad isn't it Blush ) I had a fab time with my fab friends, that's worth putting a couple of pounds on for my book.

I fasted for 2 days before I went and will do the same today and tomorrow so that will have to do!

Mother's Day sucks so fasting today will not be fun but I shall resist. Grin

DoubleMum · 10/03/2013 11:24

Glad you had a good time Randall

Happy Mother's Day Chiefs! I completely ate my body weight in ice cream yesterday and in roasted almonds & wasabi peas this morning... then TOM arrived. So nice to have an excuse, for once Grin.

Enjoy your Chinese meal CalorieCountingUberMiester and hope tonight is better for you and DD.

Welcome back Randall. You're such an inspiration for the way you enjoy your weekends away with all that eating, then cut back, then lose weight. Terrific work!

Lizzylou · 10/03/2013 19:55

Good evening chiefs
I have had a lovely day of being spoilt, including so much food when we went to lunch. I had a platter, which included Italian antipasti (not bad) and a fuck off cheese fondue with bread to dip in which was just pure sex in food form. I shared it out with DS2 in order to outweigh the damage (too cheesy for DH and DS1, how on earth can anything be too cheesy?!) and have done a run this evening as well as Kettlecise this morning.
Well bloody worth it though.

I hope that everyone has had lovely days Smile

DoubleMum · 11/03/2013 10:30

Both DCs off school today with this horrible sore throat, and I have really strong snacking urges today. No idea why. So far I have confined it to a nectarine, and orange and some ham but the single piece of choc cake left is calling my name. Must be strong!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend? Ate far too much yesterday and determined to do better this week so am planning to attempt the first stage of C25K this afternoon when I've dropped DD2 at pre-school. Hate running as really hurts my ginormous boobs and frankly think I'll struggle to get through it without collapsing but will give it a go. Still snowing a bit here so think I'll need to dig out a woolly hat!

DoubleMum · 11/03/2013 12:21

Go for it Tabby, well done you especially in this weather.

OP posts:
BsshBossh · 11/03/2013 12:49

Yes, go for it Tabby. And remember, you don't have to follow it three times a week... I have weakish knees so running has always been a problem for me. I did two sessions last week then replaced the third with 30 minutes speed walking; am missing it this week too (speed walking again) but plan on resuming next week. I'm happy to go at my own pace.

RandallPinkFloyd · 11/03/2013 12:59

Wow, go for it Tabby, you can do it!

Double, if you really want the slice of cake have it. Don't make yourself miserable all day by depriving yourself, just allow for it in your daily calories. There's nothing wrong with allowing yourself a treat, just adjust your day to absorb it. Remember this is for the rest of our lives not just one day.

If I had homemade chocolate cake in the house damn right I'd be eating it Grin

RandallPinkFloyd · 11/03/2013 13:01

Oh and thank you for the compliment bssh, this week's damage remains to be seen though!

Lizzylou · 11/03/2013 13:10

Go Tabby Go!

BsshBossh · 11/03/2013 13:43

Totally agree with Randall", Double* - don't torture yourself over a slice of cake. Eat less dinner tonight, or skip a meal tomorrow. As long as it balances out at the end of the week, it will be fine.

Tabbykat · 11/03/2013 14:04

I did it! Quite frankly astonished I got round as was really sure I'd struggle. Can't say it was great fun but will hopefully manage to do it again in a day or so. Got covered in mud in the park and totally frozen (my ears!) despite pinching DD1's bobble hat. Pretty sure I must've burnt a few extra calories in the snow though.....

Lizzylou · 11/03/2013 14:16

Well done Tabby, that is fantastic!
Bet you feel fab.

MrGeresHamster · 11/03/2013 15:01

Well done Tabby!

dinkydoos · 11/03/2013 15:25

Hello all.
Well done on the run tabby!
lizzy , cheese fondue you say? Gawd, that sounds nice!
Hope everyone had good weekends, fast day here but ate for Britain over the weekend so best rein it in!

DoubleMum · 11/03/2013 16:41

Am over the cake I think. I don't want to spend 500+ cals on it. Choosing my hard I guess. I had an M&S Fuller Longer tostada for lunch because I picked up some yellow sticker stuff yesterday and it was horrible. Won't make that mistake again. I hardly ever have ready meals anymore. Might follow RG Pargy's nutritionist eating plan though if she's lost 13 lbs in one week!

PS. That's great Tabby, well done, and in such nasty weather too.

Yo Chiefs.

Evening.

Oh. My. Word. Well there's been much action for the Goddesses of Choosing Hard the last 24 hours. Running, cake avoiding, fasting. All great work.

And even better with the boozing, lovely mothers days and feasting Grin

Nice to see such a variety of things being done.

I'm fasting today. It's too cold. So I didn't exercise so I feel bad. I'm a little sore from doing level 1-3 back to back of the shred. I could hardly stand by the end. So not a good chiefing day for me!

BambieO · 11/03/2013 19:30

tea I can barely stand after level 1 never mind all three Shock

To me you will forever more be Zenawarriorofthetea Grin

BsshBossh · 11/03/2013 19:37

Well done Tabby and Double.

I'm fasting today too - trying to get to 23 hours before I eat the day's 500 cals (a chicken, green olive, lemon & saffron tagine I made earlier and have been struggling to resist!) in compensation for a very indulgent weekend (Mother's Day & arrival of TOM). Then a few days of my usual 8-hour window eating. Then might try another 500 cal fast on Thursday. Honestly, it's amazing how much more I get done when I don't have to think about breaking for breakfast, lunch, snacks except tea. Today I got loads of work done at my desk.
